"Vidro" is not this article's official English name, it is used as there is currently no official translation or suitable name. |
"...I have nobody. I am but the sole survivor of the "Glass People"!" |
Vidro (ビードロ Bīdoro), mostly known as the Female Warrior in Black (黒衣の女戦士 Kokui no On'na Senshi), is a surviving member of the Glass Tribe whose planet of origin was destroyed by the Space Pirates. She is one of several "Warriors in Black" serve the former Supreme Kai of Time, Aeos.
She and her fellow Warriors in Black support their leader, Aeos' mysterious yet malevolent intentions for the Super Space-Time Tournament as one of the many antagonists.
Appearance[]
Vidro is a humanoid female with light navy-blue skin and steel-blue hair tied in two large buns, along with having distinctive red eyes. Like her fellow Warriors in Black, she hides her identity with a hooded black fur coat-like cloak, brown masked undershirt, grey zipped jacket underneath and brown tights and high-heeled black boots with grey tips.
After discarding her disguise, Vidro wears a black dress with a dark sky-blue collar with gold trimmings, with matching golden trims on the side below her breasts and by her skirt, which narrowly exposes the sides of her breasts. She also has unattached sleeves in the same color as her collar with the same gold trimmings as the others. She also wears the same brown tights and high-heeled black boots with grey tips that she had retained from her cloaked appearance.
Personality[]
Vidro is noted to be an extremely emotional individual who hides her depression over the loss of her people behind a mask of apathy. While in truth she remains bitter and angry that she is the only member of her tribe left, she claims to not care much about being the sole survivor, until Hearts' mind reading eventually exposes her true feelings (though she still continues to deny the truth through tears).
Despite her mixed feelings, Vidro is the most expressive of her fellow Warriors (despite also remaining mostly silent around Aeos) and fights with a smile on her face. Hearts surmises from analyzing her that her people are emotionally rich, perhaps more so than any other race, and are quick to become attached, as Lagss was to him. This is further reinforced by Vidro's instant infatuation with Yamcha after he defends her from Hit (anime)/Meta-Cooler (manga), finding him kind, noble and handsome among other things and readily defending him in turn - even calling him "darling", much to the shock of everyone (her own clone included), though in the manga it was because Xeno Pan tricked Vidro into thinking that was Yamcha's name.
Much like Yamcha, Vidro expresses a strong desire to get married and asks the Earthling if they could after the fight was over (much to his surprise). During their fight against Chilled, Vidro notes how perfectly in sync her and Yamcha are as fighters.
Biography[]
Background[]
At some point during her history, Vidro's home planet, Planet Glass, was attacked by space pirates led by Chilled and as a result, most members of the planet's native race, the Glass People were wiped out during the ordeal. However, during the attack, Vidro was sent flying by an explosion and later knocked out, leading her to believe she is the sole survivor. Wandering the universe alone, she is eventually recruited by Aeos under unknown circumstances to join the ranks of her Warriors in Black.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes[]
Supreme Kai of Time Saga[]
Vidro appears alongside her fellow Warriors in Black behind Chronoa to restrain her from taking action against Aeos.
Vidro is later tasked to battle against Vegeta and Hit along with other participants from other timelines on Planet Glass. She gives exposition on how the warriors can succeed past the second round of the Super Space-Time Tournament and ultimately discards her cloak and reveals herself to be one of the Glass People herself. She begins summoning Glass Soldiers through her ability to manipulate glass and kicks off the second round.
"I-I'm touched by your kindness! You're really my type! And the more I see it, I find you handsome too!" |
Vidro fights against Hit while her clones deal with Vegeta and Yamcha. Yamcha requests a time out towards one of her clones, however, determined to fulfill Aeos' wishes, she does not grant his request and instead, blasts him with several shards of glass. One of her clones who Vegeta is facing claim that Vegeta's blast didn't put a scratch on her, Vegeta retorts that she shouldn't underestimate him and transforms into Blue Evolved, firing a Final Flash towards the clone, with the clone in utter disbelief in her defeat and gets killed off for good. Her real self is outmaneuvered and almost killed by Hit until Yamcha saves her with the Spirit Ball. After hearing his explanation, she becomes smitten with Yamcha and readily defends her "darling" against Hit (much to everyone's surprise).
Vidro, Hit, and Yamcha are later confronted by Chilled and Fin who were summoned and empowered by Dark King Demigra. Vidro and Yamcha team up against Chilled and defeat him by combining the Spirit Ball with Glass Molding. As Chilled is defeated, Vidro asks Yamcha if they could get married, surprising him.
Vidro and Yamcha are still battling Chilled, as the evil Frieza Clan warrior is shown to have recovered and is powered-up further by Demigra. The pair were later assisted by Xeno Gohan and Android 16.
In the manga, Vidro is tasked to battle against Hit, Xeno Pan and Hearts, placing Hit in a glass prison to embolize him, leaving him defeated as Xeno Pan worries for his safety, while Hearts recognizes Vidro to be similar to Lagss' race. In a similar manner to the anime, Yamcha saves Vidro from an attack (though it is Meta-Cooler's), and she becomes enamored with the Earthling.
After Demigra has been killed and the threat is over, Vidro is next shown in the selection realm clutching Yamcha's arm. She reminds him of their promise to get married before proceeding to tell him that the wedding date will be in 1,200 years, asking him to wait for her. She then takes off with Aeos and the other Warriors in Black to tour the other Space-Times.
In the manga, while flying through the Crack of Time with the Warriors in Black and Aeos after the tournament, Vidro suggests to Aeos they go to places with delicious food as she is training to be Yamcha's wife and win his stomach.[1]

Trivia[]
- Vidro's name possibly from the Portuguese word "Vidro" which means "Glass" in English.
- Vidro is one of the two members of the Warriors in Black not based of any of the main timeline's cast of characters (the second member being the Future Warrior in Black due to him being an incarnation of Future Gohan).
- In her first anime appearance, the cloaked Vidro looked exactly like her fellow Warrior in Black, though it is possibly because her design wasn't finished in time, or her appearance was hidden to add to the mystery of the group.
