The Plasma Particle Beam was originally an unnamed weapon called an 0-8-4. It was later discovered to have been made by HYDRA members after World War II. It was powered by the Tesseract.
History[]
After World War II, HYDRA scientists fled to Peru, and made a weapon for the Peruvian government. The weapon time traveled to the year 500 AD at the same place but got stuck in a giant stone. The Incas made a temple with the stone inside. In 2013, it was rediscovered by S.H.I.E.L.D. and sent to the Slingshot, to be launched into the sun, because the weapon is dangerous. However, the weapon was kept in the Fridge. John Garrett and Grant Ward took the weapon and used it to free prisoners. At Cybertek, Coulson used the weapon to vaporize Garrett.

- In S.H.I.E.L.D. code, an 0-8-4 is an item of unknown origin. Thor's hammer, and Skye, were both an 0-8-4.
