Armor Wars is an upcoming American superhero film centering on War Machine, and a sequel to Secret Invasion and Ironheart. It is directed by Damian Marcano and written by Yassir Lester. It was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Synopsis[]

James Rhodes must confront one of Tony Stark's greatest fears when Stark's tech falls into the wrong hands.

Production[]

On December 10, 2020, Kevin Feige officially announced the series at the Disney Investors Day.^[4]

On August 20, 2021, Variety reported that Yassir Lester was enlisted as head writer.^[5]

On April 16, 2022, it was revealed that filming is scheduled to begin this fall.^[6]

On September 10, 2022, it was announced that filming will begin in 2023, and that the series is directly tied into Secret Invasion.^[7]

On September 29, 2022, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Armor Wars was being redeveloped as a feature film instead of a television series.^[8]

On July 30, 2023, it was reported that Damian Marcano had been hired to direct the film.^[9]
