The Border Sands is a location from Fire Emblem Awakening. Appearing in Chapter 8, it is a desert that lies in along the border of Ferox and Plegia. Here, Chrom faces off against the Grimleal led by the dark mage Chalard.
Though the area is currently overrun with Grimleal, the people living in the Border Sands have no desire to worship Grima. When the Shepherds visit these villages to warn them of the impending battle, the grateful villagers will gift them a Rescue Staff, a Second Seal, and a Master Seal. It is here that Chrom meets Nowi and Gregor.
Geography[]
The Border Sands lie north of a mountain range and east of the Border Wastes, which are perhaps part of the same desert. The deep sand, dunes, and blustering winds make movement through the area difficult. The entire area is actually a peninsula jutting out into the largest lake in Ylisse. Interestingly, the landscape features massive, ancient skeletons of varying sizes.
Despite being located in a desert, the Border Sands do have permanent residents living in small villages. Considering that the Border Sands were once a forested island, it follows that there are still some trees and water sources the villagers can use to sustain themselves. Furthermore, there are lakes among the sea of sand, to the southwest of where Chrom fights the Grimleal.
