New York Stories is a 1989 anthology comedy-drama film. It is composed of three segments directed by Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, and Woody Allen. The film stars Allen as well as Rosanna Arquette, Mia Farrow, Giancarlo Giannini, Julie Kavner, Nick Nolte, and Talia Shire.
Synopsis[]
The film follows three distinct stories set in the landscape of New York City. In Life Lessons, an artist suffers for his work by entering a complex relationship with a young paramour; then in Life Without Zöe, a 12-year-old girl tries to reconcile the relationship between her mother and father; and finally in Oedipus Wrecks, a miserable lawyer's mother's disapproval of her son's relationship is taken to new extremes.
