"Goodnight, Moon Girl" is the tenth episode of the Disney Channel and Marvel Animation series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
Synopsis[]
Lunella tries to overcome her awkwardness about fitting in at a slumber party by creating a mind-reading device, but accidentally switches brains with Devil Dinosaur.
Plot[]
While at lunch, Lunella and Casey are approached by the school's star volleyball team which includes Brooklyn, Gerri, Tai and Fawzia. The two of them are invited to a sleepover at Brooklyn's home. Casey ends up accepting the invitation on behalf of both of them as Lunella is too socially awkward to say yes. Lunella tells Casey that she used to get invited to sleepovers all the time, but that her nervousness resulted in her leaving early and at one point caused her to wake up on the subway covered in soup. As they prepare later that day, Lunella invents a remote that will allow her to read minds, but instead causes her to switch brains with Devil Dinosaur. Casey convinces her to leave it at home.
At the slumber party, Lunella is still nervous and is especially put off by Brooklyn's annoying younger brother TJ who is building a model city. Lunella only seems herself when she is talking science, but misinterprets Brooklyn's reaction as disinterest. Back at home, Pops finds the remote and, mistaking it for a regular remote, pushes it, causing Lunella and Devil to switch bodies. Casey picks up on what is happening when the body switching becomes more prevalent. Lunella, in Devil's body, races through the city to find the remote, but at the party, Devil in Lunella's body, becomes popular. The Lafayettes begin to wrestle with trying to fix the remote, but give up. Lunella gets the remote, but is saddened to see everyone liking Devil as Lunella.
Outside the apartment, Casey and Devil stop Lunella and revert back to normal where Casey tells Lunella that she likes her as herself and that she should rejoin the party. TJ, whose model city was destroyed by Devil, steals the remote as revenge and pushes the button causing Lunella and Devil to switch once again. They chase TJ through the city and finally catch him back near his apartment. When the rest of the girls see what is happening, they team up on TJ by hitting him with pillows, reasoning that he deserved it. Afterwards, Lunella apologizes for acting weird and "not normal", but Brooklyn tells her that none of them are normal and that she appreciates her science talk. Lunella rejoins the party and by day, Lunella is now comfortable with herself. As they prepare breakfast, Lunella converts a whipped cream can into a whipped cream cannon, made up to TJ by rebuilding his model city, and was asked by Fawzia how to supercharge a race car engine when Devil uses the remote to switch bodies so that he can eat too.
