Strandtulas are Enemies in Echoes of Wisdom.[1]

Characteristics

Strandtulas are spider-like Monsters found in the Suthorn Ruins. They bear a simplistic design, being primarily colored yellow with black leg tips and having black, beady eyes, small fangs, and a dark grey stone covering on the top of their abdomen with two light yellow eyespots and a frowning zig-zag mouth of the same color. When summoned as an Echo, they have an Echo cost of two. They spin threads that extend from the ceiling of an area as they climb downward, allowing Zelda to bridge gaps by crossing their threads. These threads are highly flammable.[1]

Strandtulas have hard carapaces on their backs that deflect strikes though their underbellies are vulnerable. Where possible, Strandtulas will extend their strands of silk to the ceiling and dangle from them. If they are struck, they will rotate and expose their weak spot. If a Strandtula's webbing is destroyed, it will fall to the ground on its back. It will reorient itself after a short period of time. From the ground, if a target is nearby, it will strike at them. If no target is available, it will simply spin more webbing and dangle from the ceiling again.

Nomenclature

"Strandtula" is a portmanteau of "strand" and Skulltula.
