Ambers are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]
Location and Uses[]
Breath of the Wild[]
Ambers are Materials that can be found in Treasure Chests. The Gem can also sometimes be found inside snowballs when they shatter, as well as within Ore Deposits. Stone Taluses and Stone Pebblits also occasionally drop these. They are sold by Kairo, who travels between Foothill Stable and the Maw of Death Mountain. Ten pieces of Amber can be used at Starlight Memories to create the Amber Earring, which uses the Amber to harness the power of the land and increase defense.[3] The Kochi Dye Shop also accepts Ambers as an ingredient to make Orange Dye.
When speaking to Ramella in Goron City, she will explain that if Link brings her 10 Ambers, she will pay more for them than a store will.[4] This will begin the Side Quest "The Jewel Trade". Afterwards, Link may sell batches of 10 Gems to Ramella in exchange for an increased payment.[5]
Ambers are required to upgrade the following pieces of Armor at a Great Fairy Fountain.

The Amber material is set to reappear in Tears of the Kingdom, though it has a different design compared to Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity.
Other Appearances[]
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity[]
In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Ambers share their appearance with their Breath of the Wild version. They can be bought at the store in the Gerudo Desert, or be found in gray treasure chests in main quests, as well as be obtained through first-clear rewards. They can be sold to most Merchants for 30 Rupees, but Dayfah will buy them for 75 Rupees.
