Sapphires are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Location and Uses[]

Breath of the Wild[]

Sapphires are Materials in Breath of the Wild. They can be found by destroying Ore Deposits and Rare Ore Deposits, or by defeating Stone Taluses, Silver enemy variants and Yiga Blademasters. They're sold by Pelison at Ore and More and Kairo at Foothill Stable. They're imbued with the power of ice, which is useful for making Heat Resistant Armor.[1]

Three Sapphires are needed to purchase the Sapphire Circlet from Starlight Memories in Gerudo Town. In addition, the merchant Ramella in Goron City will occasionally ask for Sapphires, which she will pay an increased price for.[3][4]

Several Armors require Sapphires to be upgraded at a Great Fairy Fountain. The Sapphire Circlet and pieces of the Hero of the Sky Set both need Sapphires for all of their upgrades. The pieces of the Desert Voe Set each need five Sapphires, as well as Icy Lizalfos Tails, to reach their final tier.

  • Total for Sapphire Circlet: 22 (2, 4, 6, 10)
  • Total for Hero of the Sky Set: 57 (1, 3, 5, 10) x3
  • Total for Desert Voe Set: 15 (0, 0, 0, 5) x3

Other Appearances[]

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity[]

In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Sapphires have their appearance in Breath of the Wild. They can be bought at the stores in the Tabantha Tundra and Gerudo Desert, or be found in gray treasure chests in main quests, as well as be obtained through first-clear rewards. They can be sold to most Merchants for 260 Rupees, but Dayfah will buy them for 650 Rupees.
