[edit]41.62.99.185 (talk • contribs • deleted contribs • logs • filter log • block user • block log • SUL (for IP: GUC)) — Reasons: This user deletes my Fandom article ID (P6262) claims from seemingly every item they edit. Could the removals please be reverted? I started undoing some of them, but I believe there are still a few left to be restored. ―Finnius00 (talk) 12:35, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Looking through their edits right now. Apparently, there's another IP doing the same thing too. Jianhui67 talk★contribs 14:36, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- I have reverted the property removals and left the 2 IP users a message on their talk pages. As I think this is more of a content conflict, it might be better for you to raise your concerns or queries on the item talk pages instead. Please do not engage in edit warring as that is counterproductive and might result in a block for the both of you. Jianhui67 talk★contribs 14:56, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'll keep that in mind if I notice it happening again. I'm trying to systematically match each page on that specific fandom wiki with their corresponding wikidata items using the Github:Fudd UserScript developed by Shisma. Not trying to start an edit war, but it can be hard to notice which items have had their property removed by someone and which I just haven't added yet without checking the change log for every item before editing them. Is there maybe an easy way to see a list of my own edits that have been reverted or deleted by someone else or at least get notified about it?
- I have watchlisted the talk pages of the two IPs and will check when they give a response, though I only see a message on the first talk page. The other one only has your signature without the message it looks like. Finnius00 (talk) 19:51, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- I found another IP that's been removing Fandom article ID (P6262). Could you help revert those edits too? I also see why I couldn't find your message on the other talk page. It looks like they immediately removed your message after seeing it, so doesn't seem like they're too interested in discussing this matter. Finnius00 (talk) 10:38, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies for the late reply. It seems that the IP indeed removed my message after seeing it. As they could be a possible LTA, I have gone ahead and blocked the 3 IPs for 3 months. As for the notice about your own edits being reverted or deleted, I believe a notification will be sent to you if your edits have been undone or reverted. You will also see a tag "Reverted" next to your edit if they have been reverted. However, if the user just manually deletes the link or property added by you, you will not receive a notification, making it harder to track down. Hope this helps. Jianhui67 talk★contribs 14:26, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- No worries, appreciate your help :) Regarding notification; I figured out how to search for the mw-reverted tag now, but yeah, I it seems difficult to find manually deleted properties. It doesn't look like notices are sent for reverts either, because I see more than a full page of reverted edits I didn't do myself. However, that's not really surprising considering the large volume of edits I've made in a relatively short period of time. It would be kind of interesting to see a line chart of my contribution history actually, but I'd probably have to download my data and make that myself since there doesn't seem to be a built in tool for that. I'll start working on correcting the external IDs for the items in question and update the ID claims to the correct wikidata items for the reverted items I found in my contribution history. Thank you so much for helping me with this issue! I'll post on this board again if see more IPs making incorrect deletions similar to this that might be connected to the 3 other. Finnius00 (talk) 15:27, 3 November 2024 (UTC)

- @Paradisetoshutdown: You have not attempted to warn or discuss with the IP. Please do that first before reporting it here.--Jasper Deng (talk) 06:36, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Jasper Deng: I don't think that discussing with IPs are recommended. If a IP does disputable edits, he has very likely bad editing history. And at item's talk pages you cannot effectively ping them Estopedist1 (talk) 07:17, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- The IP still gets pinged if you write on their talk page. Wikidata:Assume good faith precludes "has very likely bad editing history".--Jasper Deng (talk) 01:03, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- It is my understanding that IPv6 users change IPs fairly often, so it's a bit trickier to try to communicate with them (that is not to say that we shouldn't try, though!). In this particular case, there is nothing for us to do – the IP (or any other in the /64 range) hasn't edited the items mentioned since September. –FlyingAce✈hello 02:12, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

- i left them messages after reverting their vandalism, and they ignore them. it's a troll and keeps doing for a long time. the main issue its that affects the results on google/bing/etc (in spanish) creating that false narrative that was started by tabloids. Paradisetoshutdown (talk) 03:08, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Paradisetoshutdown: can you please provide diffs for this vandalism that you mention? I did not see problematic edits on Ellie Goulding (Q31164) or Calvin Harris (Q81637) since September, as I mentioned earlier, but perhaps I am missing something. –FlyingAce✈hello 15:09, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- tecnically, the Calvin Harris (Q81637) remains vadalised, on unmarried partner, still appears Ellie Goulding. Paradisetoshutdown (talk) 22:57, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- I removed that now as unsourced (the exclamation mark in the page asks for sources for such statements), but to someone not following all that celebrity banter in the tabloids, all of the unmarried partner (P451) statements looked the same: all needed to be sourced, and none was. So for me, just by looking there, it was either delete all or keep all. I did a quick research and found some sources (IDK how good) for the other two, but please in the future do that legwork before asking for sysop intervention. —Andreitalk 08:11, 4 November 2024 (UTC)

- https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2601:249:9380:57C0:209D:8E82:87B:676D and https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2601:249:9380:57C0:4802:675C:E15A:C17E are two different IP addresses. It's likely that the user has an ISP that gives him a new IP address each session. As such banning a single IP address won't solve the problem. Banning the whole "2601:249:9380:57C0" range would be an excessive way to deal with the problem.

Salve a tutti, l'utente CorranHorn7 noto vandalo infinitato nella it.wiki sta continuando a fare modifiche errate su wikidata. Mr. Durning (talk) 15:56, 4 November 2024 (UTC)

@Abo Yemen, and as discussed in he's action about (Removed claim: said to be the same as(P460): Saudi coffee (Q130609436)) on Q97160325.
Also some hateful behavior as like disrespectful commit comments e.g: https://wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q3595392&oldid=2263661091 not just here also on arabic wikipedia.
Clearly he editing a yeman/saudi related items with bias. X7md (talk) 07:13, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- I mainly edit english wikipedia and all of my edits on here are based of sources in there. My reverts on Q3595392 were justified per the sources on both the English and Arabic articles. Your claims on Saudi coffee weren't sourced and you never gave the link to the sources for such a controversial claim. Claiming that I have a bias towards "yeman/saudi related items" without seeing any of my edits just because of what I am going to assume is my username is crazy Abo Yemen (talk) 08:11, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- Also is that you vandalising items using ip sockpupets? I'm pretty sure that doing so is not allowed on any of wikimedia's projects Abo Yemen (talk) 08:13, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- talking about @51.36.100.241, @51.36.215.30, @51.36.66.167, @51.36.92.217 and others who share almost the exact same edits on the exact same articles that you edit and the same locations as you Abo Yemen (talk) 08:18, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- The source already reflect on the other Saudi coffee (Q130609436) (described at URL (P973)), Saudi Coffee.
- Also can represent by statement supported by (P3680): Saudi Arabia (Q851) not deleted because en.wikipedia didn't mentioned it; "biased source, which makes it unreliable" — User:Abo Yemen.
- Also, open another report here your claims (ip sockpupets) about me to make this talk just the main topic. X7md (talk) 08:51, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- You did not use the source while making the edit and it is not my job to look for sources for your uncertain claims. I am also contesting the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (aramco) source as an oil company is in no way certified to make claims on the origin of coffee Abo Yemen (talk) 08:58, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- First, Not need to be sourced, both item are the same...
- Second this isn't about (the origin) the property said to be the same as (P460) is clearly named. X7md (talk) 09:05, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- How do you know that they are both the same? How would someone who knows nothing about this know that they're both the same? When Turkish and Arabic coffee aren't the same then why would your so called saudi coffee be the same thing as Arabic coffee? and if it is the same thing then why not just list it as an allias in the Arabic coffee item instead? Abo Yemen (talk) 09:16, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- 1. How do you know that they are both the same.
- By reading the property name then click the hyperlink to see both items.
- 2. why would your so called saudi coffee, because as source link describes saudi government on 2022 decided to call it like this, all official organization call it Saudi Coffee since UNESCO registered it.
- 3. why not just list it as an allias in the Arabic coffee item instead because isn't an alias, saudi coffee has non-Khawlani called (قهوة حلوة أو قهوة اللوز) also already saudi coffee has subclass of (P279) arabic coffee.

- Also Aramco not just a oil company...
- Aramco support other sectors and investment on microindustries, they are building (مركز البن السعودي).

- don't like the statement? use statement supported by (P3680) and statement disputed by (P1310) if both official sources have different opinions, don't just deleted because you don't like the source? X7md (talk) 09:44, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- Also you didn't even try to gain consensus you just asked a question and called it a day and went to report me here Abo Yemen (talk) 09:00, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- I notice your behavior on arabic wikipedia, so no need to (gain consensus), also your disrespectful of jzaan people as linked above in your commit 😀. X7md (talk) 09:08, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- What's with my "behavior on arabic wikipedia"? and what does it have to do with any of this?
Also I did not disrespect the people of Jazan. That IP had a clear case of Saudi nationalism and as you can see from the history of the masoob item that IP has been consistently vandalising the page since 2023. Abo Yemen (talk) 09:18, 10 November 2024 (UTC)- Just look to your unreviewed edits in ar.wiki and you will see what's wrong... especially article that related to saudi arabia and yemen, anyway I had enough with you... so no more arguing and let's wait till an admin take some action. - What's with the edits? and what does a wikidata admin have to do with them? Abo Yemen (talk) 12:00, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

- Also is that you vandalising items using ip sockpupets? I'm pretty sure that doing so is not allowed on any of wikimedia's projects Abo Yemen (talk) 08:13, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
Vandalism related to Wisit Tongmo
[edit]- Could you please block the following accounts for being vandalism-only accounts and being sockpuppets of each other? (For further information, please see en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/DLOEI2536/Archive, Commons:Category:Sockpuppets of DLOEI2536, and th:หมวดหมู่:หุ่นเชิดของ พันจ่าอากาศโทวิศิษฎ์ ทองโม้.)

- องค์กรบริหารส่วนจังหวัดเลย (talk • contribs • deleted contribs • logs • filter log • block user • block log • SUL (for IP: GUC))
- The behaviour of these accounts is adding the name "Wisit Tongmo" (or, in Thai, "วิศิษฎ์/วิศิษฏ์ ทองโม้") to pages, especially the pages related to Loei province. They sometimes come as IPs (as contained in the Commons category above). So, is it possible to have some filter which prevents the addition of the following phrases to any page?
- "Wisit Tongmo" (or "WisitTongmo");
- "วิศิษฎ์ ทองโม้" (or "วิศิษฎ์ทองโม้");
- "วิศิษฏ์ ทองโม้" (or "วิศิษฏ์ทองโม้").
- Letter case is irrelevant.
Thank you. -- Miwako Sato (talk) 08:09, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

IP hopper (presumably), hundreds of rapid-fire edits, some of which are ok and many of which are not, refer to the history of Ebata (Q104880975) for an example of their edits. Completely undeterred by talk page messages and reverts. —Xezbeth (talk) 10:45, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- Just realized this is the same user as Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive/2024/08#Disruptive editing since they targeted Nozomu (Q7067429) again. @User:Wüstenspringmaus. —Xezbeth (talk) 12:32, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
