I thought this little novella was superbly written, and I didn‘t struggle with the prose the way I normally do with writing from this one period. It was very sad, though. This was one of y last three books for the #LitsyReadingChallenge, #over150yearsago @jessica

An update of my #litsyreadingchallenge. Since my last update I've added:
#LRC10 #multiplePOVs - First Comes Love
#LRC8 #over400pages - Voyager
#LRC21 #TBRnomore - The Handmaid's Tale
#LRC19 #LGBTQlove - Aristotle & Dante
#LRC22 #recommendedby - Outlander
#LRC23 #over150yearsago - Dragonfly in Amber

Was able to fit my new Outlander obsession into the challenge. Yay!!! And thank goodness for audiobooks!

Oh that book had some infuriating parts! I'm very excited to discuss this with my #LitMail group. And I will say that I do love the way this ended.

SarahK It seems like we are all pretty excited to discuss! 8y
minkyb Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I 'm still waiting for my copy. 🙃 8y
Sarahr875 😱 @minkyb my audible says I can share. So let me know if you're sick of waiting ;) 8y

minkyb @Sarahr875 ok here is where I confess that I have never listened to an audiobook 😵 8y
Sarahr875 @minkyb I'm quite new to them as well! I used to think they were fake books and I'd roll my eyes at people who "read" them. And then one day, cleaning was boring and Pandora just wasn't working right for me so I downloaded an audiobook and now I like them and I feel guilty for judging people who read them ? I could never do exclusively audio, and I still like a real book better, but they are pretty nifty. 8y
sisilia @minkyb I've never touched audiobooks, either 😁 8y

This is one of the first conversations between Augusta and Ian and I was hooked! I also enjoyed the secondary romances. It was also fun that the MacGregors' estate was next to Balmoral, so Prince Albert makes an appearance. This is a scorching hot 🔥romance! #historicalromance #romantsy
I'll probably have quite a few books that fit this bingo square, but it's the first of the year! #LRC23 #over150yearsago

First published in 1920, this is an enthralling depiction of 14th century Norway. The first part in a trilogy, this book covers Kristin's childhood, coming of age, romantic dalliances and marriage. Kristin and her beau behave atrociously to everyone around them, but the side characters are far more sympathetic, especially Kristin's father Lavrans.

This is 1920 completed for the #192019challenge.

Marchpane This will also satisfy one of the following #litsyreadingchallenge categories: #translated, #tbrnomore, #over150yearsago. 8y
AlaMich Yes yes, I read the whole trilogy last year!! Sooo good!! When I told my wife it was about medieval Norway she just nodded and smiled... 8y
Marchpane @AlaMich 😂😂I'm glad I have the next two books to go on with! 8y
BarbaraJean This trilogy is high on my TBR (recommended by my medieval lit professor from college) but I told myself I can't start a new series until I finish at least 4 of the series I'm already in the middle of! 8y
LeahBergen I LOVE this trilogy! ❤❤❤ 8y

I should've known better than to pick this up. Now I'm stuck inside this story & Ghostland is only half finished! I'll have to juggle both books this weekend, should be interesting as they're both intense reading. This is my O in #LitsyAtoZ & #LRC23 a book that takes place #over150yearsago in the #LitsyReadingChallenge

Bookscatsandcountry This has been on my TBR for a while but I keep putting it off because the series is such an investment! I should just bite the bullet. I'm the same with wanting to read Robin Hobb! 8y
Bookworm-Bobbie @Bookscatsandcountry this is definitely worth the read. I loved it. It is an investment but it's not hard to get back into if you take a break. I waited about 4 months before I read the second one. (edited) 8y
TheLondonBookworm Nice! Hitting two in one :) 8y
