This was a great listen for Saturday errands, chores, and crafts!
It‘s book 1 of the author‘s Paradise trilogy; but honestly the only series I consciously read in order was The Winter Series.

People have been recommending Hilderbrand‘s novels to me for years. I finally tried one, and I didn‘t love it. Definitely a beach read, but I felt like I couldn‘t connect with almost any of the main characters. They were all so incredibly selfish. This is part of the trilogy, and I have no desire to read the next one. Just not my cup of tea. If you love her books and think this was the wrong one to start with, tell me which one I should read!
Of course I had to pick our island expert Hilderbrand for the #islandvibes #titlesandtunes read! Add to that our Carribbean Queen with an all time cheater dis track and my May is complete! A couple of great guilty pleasures! The book was a near to a pick. There were just a few things that seemed off & a little overly dramatized that took me out of the moment. But I enjoyed it & will probably read the next in the series.
I love this author! This was a different setting than her normal Nantucket books but I loved it. I can‘t wait to read the rest of the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love Erin Hilderbrand books. I had never read this particular series. It pulled me in and kept me interested. I look forward to reading her other 2 books in this series.
I‘ve never read any of Elin Hilderbrand‘s books, but they all scream #summercover to me. Even a book with winter in the title! #artfulaugust
🪂🪂🪂🪂
Loved it! Excited to read the rest of the series.
Some of the specific words she uses to describe people, I don't really like. But overall, a good read.

Book 1 in another drama-filled EH series! Irene‘s life is turned upside down when her husband dies suddenly in a plane crash and secrets start coming out of the woodwork. Turns out her hubby had a multimillion dollar mansion in an exotic country, not to mention a mistress and another child. I‘m taking a break from EH for now but I look forward to reading the rest of this series. 4⭐️

Last summer I was committed to working down my very tall thrifted Elin Hilderband stack but I saved this series for some virtual winter fun in the sand. No Nantucket in this Virgin Island series, but she did stick with framing her story around a dead guy. Fun, but shouldn‘t they be grieving!?

This is another one that I can‘t remember why I reserved from the Library but it turned out OK! As the cover leads you to believe, it is a light beach read. However there is a mystery thrown in too which carries on into books 2 & 3 apparently. The setting made me want to go to the Caribbean!

When Irene‘s husband dies suddenly, she learns he has a house and family in the Caribbean. She and her two sons fly down to figure things out but are left with more questions than answers. This was a fun, quick read. I‘ll probably get the next 2 from the library.
This was a typical Elin Hilderbrand book with a little bit of a mystery thrown in. I liked it enough to add the next two to my TBR.
My first #BookSpin month was back in November. I took a break because the holidays are hectic but I‘m excited to get back at it for February!

Uh this seems like a big thing to fall through the cracks.... you can‘t meet someone after you die (this isn‘t a paranormal book).

Read late winter as part of #LMPBC and loved the story line.
Irene's husband dies, and she discovers he lived an alternator life in the Caribbean. Her and the boys uncover his life, including a secret mistress.
It is book 1 of a trilogy.
Today is weird. The past two months since dad‘s stroke have caught up with us. Mom and I both slept from midnight to 10 AM, which never happens. I feel like a well rested zombie and like I‘m walking through Jell-O.
I needed something light to read, so I chose this #audiobook. I‘m not a “beach read” person usually, but I enjoyed the soapy drama. Exactly the right book for today. Headed in for book 2, which mom says seals the plot up. 👍🏻
New round starts July 1st.
I thoroughly enjoyed the last year and of this challenge. I can't wait to start reading for the new #BBRC, oh wait I should finish my last 2 books (half way though both) for the current round.
Head over to @LibrarianRyan page to check out out the amazing new prompts, many of which are more diverse.

Not all of these are Spring prompts, but these are the ones I read for spring.
I am loving this challenge.

#ReadYourSign @Meaw_catlady prompt-read a book published between Sep 23 to Oct 22. This author novels are mainly about family dramas developed in St. John US VI before Hurricane Maria. Family secrets, unfaithful relations, betrayals, second chances romance. Simple story but I like these dramas specially in summer time. She describes the place so well that I felt I was there. 1st book in trilogy, looking to read the sequel. 3.3⭐️
I didn‘t expect to enjoy this novel as much as I did! I read it in a single sitting and gave myself my first sunburn of the season because I couldn‘t put it down. True, it‘s not my usual type of reading, but I just had to find out what happened to Irene and her (somewhat) annoying sons! I really liked the female characters and now that I know this is a series, I‘ll have to read the next to find out what happens!! #LMPBC
Book 61
I listened to Winter in Paradise, not knowing it's a series. A light read that vacillates between three character's perspectives. A husband/father dies, and the family discovers he had a secret life. The story is predictable and obvious; I think I know where it's going, though I have two more books to read to find out if I'm right. It was easy to listen to.
1. MO, USA
2. I can't decide between Winter in Paradise or What Happens in Paradise. And I cant wait till Oct for the 3rd books.
3. Any-recently I have picked 250-400 page books.

This was an #lmpbc pick and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I‘ve only read one other book by this author and I was not impressed by it so I was a little nervous going into this one. It was a quick, easy and enjoyable read. I‘ll probably pick up the next one to find out what happens to the family. It‘s already made it to the next stop, I‘m just late reviewing it.
I didn't see this coming. What a hot mess! I thought my family had drama but the Steele's got some problems. I loved every minute of this read.
I had to read this one since its first in the series to my next #bookbonanza 😜
I can‘t believe that I didn‘t post this picture yet! I‘m still reading May‘s book, but I‘ll be just as excited to start this in June!! #LMPBC
The inaccuracies in this book are driving me crazy. One MC‘s wife was described as a “top cardiothoracic surgeon” at 30. And she‘s had a kid.
Graduate med school - 26
Finish general surgery residency - 30
...
It‘s easily another 5 years of training in secondary residencies and fellowships. You‘re not a “top” surgeon until your mid-40s or so, at least! Plus taking time to have a kid.
Where are the copy editors Elin?? Google?? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀
Loved this book! It was a quick, fun read that was set on St. John Island. Picture was taking in November when I was on St. Thomas Island (which is mentioned in the book several times) and is a ferry ride from St. John. Such a beautiful place!!! #LMPBC. Great pick @cwarnier
Hey ladies, I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. I have not received an April book yet. It's ok if you are running behind.
I hope mine made it to @shellleigh33 I sent it out the last day of March. #lmpbc
@Kaila-ann @Readergrrl
I almost stopped reading on page one. So sick of this!! It is truly okay to be fat and eat. Really.
3⭐️ I wasn‘t exactly enamoured with most of the book, as I felt that it went all over the place and felt that it was a little too drawn out at times. #2020 #bookstagram #fiction #bookreviews #ebook
OMG I loved this book so much! I did have a hard time remembering who knew what through out the book as there were so man lies going on. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book- “What Happens in Paradise“ and probably the 3rd one that comes out in Oct.
#24beforeMonday Well I didn't make it to 24 hours, but I did finish this book.

I am working on this, and hope to finish it this weekend.
When this ended w absolutely zero questions* answered, I was quite annoyed. Now I find out it‘s a series. I need to read two more books to get the answers?! I like series, but 1, the questions of each book should be answered in that book and more questions raised for next, and 2, it should be very clear that it is a series. I feel tricked. *One small question was answered, but it doesn‘t count bc it was obvious and simply stated very early on.
As you may guess from the cover, this is a “beach read.” Not too deep, plot feels like something you‘ve probably read before. Entertaining enough if you are looking for a quick read.
I really enjoyed this wintery beach read! Hilderbrand is always reliable for a drama-filled family saga. I only wish that my library hold had come in while I was still in the Caribbean for the holidays myself. I'm already on the wait list for book 2 and am looking forward to seeing more of these characters. I wasn't expecting that cliff hanger ending! 😆
bailed at 4% (22:40)
I don't see this going anywhere for me, and I'm too tired and irritated to invest a ton of time after sinking ~11.5 hours (real-time; not my time) (16%, 44%, and 38%) across three other bailed books already this year.
Not every book is for every person.
