panReally disappointed in this one. I really liked another book by this author so was expecting this to be good but found it repetitive and slow. Everything was laid out too conveniently and nothing was left to the imagination. I got bored waiting for things to happen. Not enough action, surprises, twists and turns for me. Plus the editor missed some clangers which annoyed me.
pickFinished a book! Lucas has some unfinished business with Senator Taryn Grant and it all comes to a head here. I liked this much better than the last 2 (which weren‘t bad, but I felt like he missed some obvious clues). This one had some great twists and turns. I have about 9 books left to hit 100 for the year. Will I make it? Doubtful. But we do have a blizzard headed our way. Unfortunately there‘s no snow days at the hospital. #WinterReadathon

pickThis addition to the Lucas Davenport series, was much improved over the previous novel. It had a great plot. Still the Minnesota ties I love about the earlier books. The character development of the series from cop to Federal Marshall was also improved.
pickAnother fantastic Lucas Davenport novel they just keep on getting better in my opinion. Normally in a series so long the author usually starts running out of ideas (Lee Child with the Jack Reacher series) but John Sandford really doesn't!
pickI love EVERYTHING this man writes! I have every Prey book and buy them as soon as they‘re out—don‘t even bother reading the blurb. This one is pretty good. John Sandford ALWAYS delivers, and this one is good, but it just didn‘t knock it out of the park for me like many of his others have. That being said, it‘s still definitely worth reading!!
Today I spent a few hours in online queues to buy badges/book a hotel for Star Wars Celebration 2019 and took a walk. This is how the rest of my afternoon will be spent.
pickI love John Sanford's characters. Lucas Davenport series is very good. This was a story about a Senator and an attempted assassination. It involves Special Ops groups, a woman who wants to be President, and the good guys.
so-soI‘m having to put this aside for now. Sorry, Mr. Sandford, I usually love your books. But if I want to read about people behaving badly in DC, I can open any newspaper.

pickSandford doesn‘t disappoint. I was a little worried as I didn‘t think it would be as good as the last one in the Lucas Davenport series but it was another page turner. Assignation, murder, corruption, just another day for the Senate in Washington.
I've got half an hour before baseball, so I'm going to sit outside, snack, and delve into a new book.
pickI didn‘t think Sandford could top Golden Prey, but this one sure comes close. As always, Lucas is surrounded by a great cast of secondary characters, dialogue filled with witty banter, and plenty of heart pounding tension. Oh, and Lucas is one sneaky bastard. I love him. Sandford has done it again. A great read.
