“Voin pahoin, koska olen myrkyttänyt itseni. Mutta miksi itsensä myrkyttäminen aiheuttaa niin paljon euforiaa? Haluammeko kuolla? Samaan tapaan kuin vapaakiipeilijät kokevat syvää onnea tippuessaan?”
Ville Verkkapuro, Pete

“En tiedä mihin mennä. Pulloon? Suomalainen harakiri:
juoda itsensä hengiltä.”
Ville Verkkapuro, Pete

“Kirjoitan niin keskittyneesti, että sormilleni valuu kuolaa. Muistan lukeneeni, että sylki on suodatettua verta. Emmekö me ole sitä kaikki, suodatettua verta?”
Ville Verkkapuro, Pete

“here she is, all mine, trying her best to give me all she can. How could I ever hurt her? But I didn’t understand then. That I could hurt somebody so badly she would never recover. That a person can, just by living, damage another human being beyond repair.”
Haruki Murakami, South of the Border, West of the Sun

“For a while" is a phrase whose length can't be measured. At least by the person who's waiting.”
Haruki Murakami, South of the Border, West of the Sun

“I have always had a great need for solitude. I require huge swathes of loneliness and when I do not have it, which has been the case for the last five years, my frustration can sometimes become almost panicked, or aggressive.”
Karl Ove Knausgård, My Struggle: Book 1

“For the heart, life is simple: it beats for as long as it can. Then it stops.”
Karl Ove Knausgård, Min kamp 1

“By working only when you are most effective, life is both more productive and more enjoyable. It's the perfect example of having your cake and eating it, too.”
Timothy Ferriss, The 4-Hour Workweek
