4.5 stars this book is long , 18 hrs on Audiobook. The writing is beautiful, and at times the description was excellent and gave a sense of the place and time. But sometimes it was tedious.
I have previously read, The once and Future King, Mists of Avalon, Le Morte d’Arthur, as well as movies and the TV series of Merlin. I was expecting the names and characters and story to follow link with some of these texts. But Mary Stewart’s research was vast, and characters i was expecting were absent or changed.
I wish i had listened to the final chapter of this book first.
If you are a lover of Arthurian legend, I recommend it.
