Antoinette Yes. Happy to see your 5 stars, Jennifer.

Rosh Yes! Eagerly awaiting your full review, Jennifer!

Jennifer Welsh Thank you, Antoinette, and Rosh. This was lovely, just what I needed. Happy Holidays!

Debbie 5 stars get my attention! Look forward to your review!

Kevin Ansbro I'm so pleased that you liked this poignant short story, Jennifer!

Jennifer Welsh This was gorgeous, Debbie, and so simply told. I think you’d appreciate it.

Jennifer Welsh Poignant is the perfect word for it, Kevin, isn’t it!? Thank you :D

JimZ What did the girl mean in that last sentence of hers? She was hugging Mr. Kinsella when her father approached. I feel like I missed something important. Last sentence: “Daddy,’ I warn him, I call him. ‘Daddy.

Beata Just as you predicted, Jennifer, a winner in many ways for you, happy to see 5 stars too! :))

Cheri So happy to see your five stars for this one, Jennifer! This was the first of her books that I read, and I loved it, too.

Hi Jim, SO sorry for not seeing this until now! That last moment to me was about how she found an all-new and lasting meaning for the word Daddy in her relationship with Mr. Kinsella. The word meant two very different things for her with each man, and her connection with Kinsella showed her what was possible.

Jennifer Welsh Beata wrote: "Just as you predicted, Jennifer, a winner in many ways for you, happy to see 5 stars too! :))"

This was so perfectly structured, Beata! What a gem :)

Cheri, this was my first, and my only so far. Which of hers would you recommend? I loved this so much!

Stacey B Happy you enjoyed this. I read one other book of hers and loved it.

Jennifer Welsh Thank you, Stacey. Which one did you love?

Lisa I missed this back in December. I'm happy to see that you loved it. It's on that ever so long list of mine.

Stacey B Stacey B wrote: "Happy you enjoyed this. I read one other book of hers and loved it."

I loved "Small Things Like These".

Jennifer Welsh The good news, Lisa, is it’s very short. Very short. Do you ever use audible? The narrator for this one is great!

Jennifer Welsh Thanks, Stacey. I think that will be my next of hers…

Stacey B Glad to see you liked this!!

Jennifer Welsh Stacey, I LOVED this, and I liked Small Things Like These. She can really get me to inhabit a character and feel for him or her, which is one of the reasons I read. The main character in Small was such a lovely man, just like the Foster parents here. She must have had a good father figure in her life, I can really feel her love for men.

Lisa Jennifer, I am in love with this story!

Jennifer Welsh Lisa, I’m so glad you loved it, too. Wasn’t it a kind of inverse of A Girl Returned? They make great companion reads ☺️
