After a personal tragedy, Olivia escapes to Paris to try and get her life and work back on track. She is a writer and has not been able to write in two years. Suddenly her life is turned upside down when she meets James, whose eyes are as haunted as her own, and who suddenly starts to make her feel alive again.
I was ALREADY on track to rate this one highly. The CONNECTION Geissinger has written between the characters is palpable. Very few people would have had a connection as strong as these two main characters. I am certain that she is an author who has experienced this kind of connection before, how else could she write about it like this? It filled my heart with melancholy. I absolutely loved the main characters. I adore a lot of her main characters (with the exception of the idiots in Ache For You, but you can't win them all I guess). But these two were just perfection.
Soooooo then things happened. The book changed. And that is all I am going to say on the matter.
I can understand how this book took people by surprise and why some people were so shocked that they lowered their rating. Not me. I LOVE a twist! And HOLY CRAP! 5 stars!!! Geissinger is absolutely up there on my list of top authors. I am so glad I have a TON of her books to get through!

I have literally spent the last 24 hours devouring three of J.T. Geissinger's books and I can say that she is now one of my fav romance authors! Only a few romance authors get me to swoon like this! LOVED IT!
I LOVE THE WAY SHE WRITES THE BANTER! OMG! I was laughing SO HARD and it was so freaking heartwarmingly cute! I know this is going up there with my favourite romance novels! I have added it to my FAVOURITES SHELF PEOPLE!!! It has been a long time since I have added something there!
Wallflower Joellen is in love with her boss. She has been for the last decade. But he has always been married, always out of reach. Until he isn't anymore. Suddenly he is on the market so Joellen turns to her new neighbour Cameron to show her the dating ropes. Cue the 'helping the girl get another guy but actually realising you want them for yourself' trope, but done SOOO WELL!
Oh the banter. I just love it. I also love how she writes LIKEABLE male characters! They are not all brutish brooding aggressive men. They are genuinely flawed, but good people. And they develop HEALTHY relationships with some killer tension!
BUT!!! Let's take a moment to discuss the covers of your books Mrs Geissinger! You know what I thought when I saw this cover? My exact thought went something like this: "Ekk - it's another raunchy romance book with no substance" But it is so much more than that! It is FILLED with humour, insight and laughter. None of this is portrayed by the cover (which I hate if you haven't figured that out).
Easily a 5 star read. I adored this one!
Oh and another highlight of this book for me was the acknowledgements section. Well worth a read!...more

I finished Rules of Engagement this morning and went straight to Amazon to get another one of her books. Bonus - There are heaps of them on Kindle Unlimited! Woohoo!
I loved this one almost as much. I love that the characters seem like real jerks at the beginning but there is always a back story. I love the romantic tension between the characters and I just LOVE THE BANTER! And some good steamy scenes in there too! Not over the top but just enough tension and spice!
I am not going to go into the synopsis because its just the "old enemies to friends to fake marriage to lovers" trope, but its the banter and humour that does it for me! I can FEEL the fun that she has while she is writing these! Next please, Ms Geissinger!...more
When I read the synopsis I immediately thought of one of my all-time favourite romance books Match Me If You Can. And apparently, the ma4.5 Rounded up
When I read the synopsis I immediately thought of one of my all-time favourite romance books Match Me If You Can. And apparently, the matchmaker falling for her client trope really works for me. I thought this one was fantastic!
Mason is a superstar footballer, but he is a bit off the rails. When his good friend enlists the help of a matchmaker to help Mason find a wife, Mason is less than thrilled. And when he meets Maddie, the southern belle matchmaker, they are both less than impressed with each other... Or are they?
I had just finished reading a few sports romances where the main character was such an asshole - so when I reluctantly picked this one up I was expecting something similar. But SO HAPPY to be wrong! I absolutely loved it. The banter was FANTASTIC! I loved the writing and the characters. I even loved the side characters!
I am excited to read other things that J.T Gessinger has written!...more
Okay Okay... I'm sold! When I read the first two books I liked them, but I didn't LOVE LOVE them. If you get me... Well after this book I am happy to Okay Okay... I'm sold! When I read the first two books I liked them, but I didn't LOVE LOVE them. If you get me... Well after this book I am happy to announce that I do in fact LOVE LOVE this series! Absolutely fantastic book! The best of the series so far! WOW! --- Just letting you know in advance that there are going to be many exclamation marks and words expressed in capital letters in this review!!!
Kate is back yet again in book 3 of The Kate Daniels series. Something strange is going on with her old partner Jim. He is hiding something from Curran, the leader of the shapeshifters. And when Derek is found near death, she finds herself coerced by Jim into taking part in the Midnight Games, a fight-to-the-death gladiator style arena combat competition. Meanwhile Curran is after Jim for disobeying him, and he is after Kate too... But for other reasons...
I am officially ADDICTED to this series! Seriously! How FREAKING FANTASTIC was this book!???? I can't believe I haven't read this series earlier!
Action packed! From start to finish! And that is fantastic, however that is not what makes this book. What makes this book is the increasing tension between Kate and Curran. HOLY MACARONI!!!! I swear I needed a cold shower after that hot tub scene!!! I like that it was slightly graphic, but not overly so... Enough to get the heart racing a little bit, but not enough to hide it from others on the train. Although I do admit I hope it does get even hotter in future books.. Because... TENSION!!!!
I really enjoy their relationship. Its not the typical urban fantasy romance, where the girl swoons and all of a sudden they can't live without each other and they will never love anyone else ever... Its SO not like that. Its a relationship based on mutual respect, admiration and hilarious flirty playfulness. And Kate's character is by no means brought down because of it.
I'm really excited to see where the rest of the series goes! Especially with Kate's character and her family stuff!
Would I recommend it??
YES! Read this series! Remember it doesn't get super good till number 3!!
Now I have the next 3 on order hopefully arriving in a week or so, but I am seriously tempted to buy them on my kindle just so I can read them NOW NOW NOW!!!!
I don't know why I have not reviewed this book yet. It must be the 50th time that I have read it.

I love this whole series, but there is a special place in my heart for feisty redhead Annabelle and her python Heath. Annabelle is a matchmaker and lands a deal to match the notorious sports agent Heath Champion with a wife. But for some reason, his dates always go better when she is directing them... And the conversations always flow better when she is with them. Pretty soon she begins to realise that she may want the python for herself!
What a GORGEOUS story!!! Yes it is sappy and unbelievable. But MY GOSH it is so good!
I love the characters, I love the little side stories, and when the characters FINALLY get together WOW!
Absolutely love this one! There are only a few books that I regularly re-read and this is one of them! One of my fav romances of all time! 5 stars!!!...more

She manages to create really wonderful characters and incredible romantic tension in all of her books. And this is MY FAVOURITE ROMANCE BOOK EVER! And one of my all time favourite books.. Yes.. OF ALL TIME!! I have read this book so many times I have lost count!
The story line is simple, but it doesn't need to be complex. It's all about the tension... Payton and JD work at the same law firm... Tension... They hate each other... Tension... They realise they might not actually hate each other after all... Tension... Loads of funny and heart warming stuff happens, the end.
I know I know, it's a pile of romantic fluff... But don't let the seemingly simple boring story line put you off. The characters are so well written and the tension is SO GOOD that you wont care that there is no murder, mystery or major life shattering dramas. This is a good old-fashioned, well written, AWESOME romance book!
Yes the characters are typically good looking, intelligent and talented.. Yes its corny, but I promise you that you will enjoy it anyway.
The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it was too short! It could have gone on and on and on for another 500 pages and I would have been happy!
Would I recommend it?
YES YES YES YES YES
If you are in the mood for some romance without the tragedy, lots of laughs and a feel good ending, this is the book for you! It is my number one cheer me up book - which I know will put me in a good mood every time I read it! In fact just writing about it makes me want to read it again!
