...more
I kind of felt like that the book only was about the sex and not so much about the rest. While at first I believed the characters would be worked out I kind of felt like that the book only was about the sex and not so much about the rest. While at first I believed the characters would be worked out as they had other things. But than near 2/3rd I felt the opposite. I kind of wanted more dynamic between them instead of all the banging, but that might be me?
I just realized I felt like I could not write anthing else about it. The set up of the romance between "the intern" and his boss was maybe a story I would read normally. But willing to try. I just felt like the build up and character development could have been done better. I did not hate Wes or Corinne but it felt flat when it come to how it was worked out. ...more

I definitely liked this book, I definitely liked the characters. Maybe a little dramatic but it worked in the end and it made sense that the things in this book happened. I definitely recognized myself in Georgia. And that was very soothing. As Georgia went through the route of finding out she is ace/aromantic. I felt like that was exactly how I feel. I only have people though that keep saying: you haven't met the right one yet. So, I rather have the people that she met. I do wonder how her parents would react. I hope that it would be a little bit cliche (in a good way) and that her dad sends a thumb up here too. Georgia's experience of going to college and meeting new people (especially her new friends) was a wonderful world-build. I also like how she felt awkward or laughed about things that she felt like were so far from what she feels. (Which celebrity do you fantasize about? eeeh none?) The world is build up around sex and romance and I found this representation of the "other side" of that very well done. Definitely worth to have on the favourite list.
I read this book because it was recommended to read as finally the main character is ace and that finally there is a good representation of it. Well I could definitely recommend this book for that purpose. Which is maybe why I shed a tear but I also did it because of Jason. I adore him. ...more
I don't actually know what to think. I read reviews that influenced my thoughts because they made great points. I did not like Persephone, I did like I don't actually know what to think. I read reviews that influenced my thoughts because they made great points. I did not like Persephone, I did like Hades and kept wondering why she was so destructive... maybe it's cuz her power did not work... she destroys every thing she touches or something?
Anyway it felt like a novel that was build around the sexual tension and sexual adventures instead of anything else. The story was a bit iffy too me? Maybe it is because it was build as a series and I have no intention to read/listen to the rest. ...more

It's been 10 years since I probably listened to it and well quite a couple of years since I googled the members. It's been a while that I wondered how the system of idols worked. But that made this book good and the characters made it even better. I really loved this one.
I was afraid that it would be too much, too cheesy, too much of everything but I found it funny and I had these moments where my heart did a squeezy thing because you are holding your breath to wonder how it will continue. I loved all of the characters! (Which does not happen a lot of times lately I think). But there are no other words about it. Every one (of the main characters in my opinion) have their own good personality and made the combination and the dynamic fun.
I do know about the system that idols are not allowed to date. I also heard from classmates that pressure within Asian families might be a lot harder than what my parents expect from me. Which was definitely something in this book that made me nod, hold my heart and wonder. For example where Jenny considers that she has to go back to the US... I wonder if she had friends there, she misses no one but she is perfectly fitting in at her new school. Why not? I like that she fitted in and made friends and the struggles and how it all went. It made a good story. As I said the dynamic made it fun. Jenny and Sori. Jenny and Angela and Gi Taek. Jenny and Nathaniel and of course Jenny and Jaewoo.
I listened to the audiobook and I first was not sure what I thought about it. But I liked the narration of Greta Jung. It was nice how she used her voice for every different character. I would not have minded more Youngmin in the book but oh well, his enthusiasm will remain in the moments that Jung could preform as him.
Also I find it fascinating how Axie Oh her name fits perfect as XO as well, sound wise that is. Perfect name for the book, band and everything! (Lucky for me, my baby sis her birthday is at the end of the month and she is a big k-pop fan. I think I will gift her this book). ...more

Which felt a The ending of Wayward Son was drama, or that's what I remember. That something was wrong with Wattford and here it's just oh well Fiona. Which felt a little eh compared to what I was expecting. That does not take away that this was a great book and that I really liked it. I liked the development from the characters, maybe sometimes a little too much romance but oh well. It was not like Rowell had not said that it was happening. And still it was written in a way that I don't mind much.
Personally the development of the characters interest me the most. The little hints of a good ending or answers in the end was definitely really nice. Sort of a shame that the epilogue is about one character but it was in a way still funny what the epilogue was.
I listened to the audiobook again and I think it's very impressive to be able to have slight differences between the three main male characters because I could recognize Baz from Simon and Shepard too. (Maybe also because Baz is my favourite? Was that obvious?) I would definitely recommend this one after Wayward Son, which was not my favourite either but was not bad. This one is definitely better. ...more

...more

I made it 4 because I think the writing style was really nice and fascinating. Where the time went backwards and the repeat of the last sentences. I would be annoyed with it, in lots of cases but here it seemed to work. I have seen a lot of reviews already and everyone spoke about the impact of the last part. Which is why I decided to actually read this in one day. Which definitely worked thanks to the easy writing style. It kept it interesting thanks to the smaller chapters. I felt like I read only for 10 minutes and was already at page 49, so that was a surprise and that s how I continued to read it. Everything went so fast.
There are definitely some things about the book I liked less, but that's also just the way some characters speak. I was okay with the biggest part of the book so I don't think it's necessary to go into the details of the small parts I did not like. Besides as I don't have 3 brothers, it might be very different how brothers treat each other as I would with my siblings as I am the eldest sister. The parents here were a little peculiar, but aren't they all? ...more
