I thought at first that the writing style was not my cup of tea, but then you realize you are around page 200 before you even know it. It read so well and so easy that it made sense. At first, it also felt as a non-fiction that I wondered why I had never heard of the band.
The twists and turns at the end made it even quicker to read and just well done. I loved it all....more

The storytelling was amazing, and I loved how every chapter started with a new letter of the alphabet. It was really intriguing and also fascinating to read two worlds collide.
I definitely recommend this book for everyone. I bought this edition last year on my road trip through Germany....more

I definitely liked this book, I definitely liked the characters. Maybe a little dramatic but it worked in the end and it made sense that the things in this book happened. I definitely recognized myself in Georgia. And that was very soothing. As Georgia went through the route of finding out she is ace/aromantic. I felt like that was exactly how I feel. I only have people though that keep saying: you haven't met the right one yet. So, I rather have the people that she met. I do wonder how her parents would react. I hope that it would be a little bit cliche (in a good way) and that her dad sends a thumb up here too. Georgia's experience of going to college and meeting new people (especially her new friends) was a wonderful world-build. I also like how she felt awkward or laughed about things that she felt like were so far from what she feels. (Which celebrity do you fantasize about? eeeh none?) The world is build up around sex and romance and I found this representation of the "other side" of that very well done. Definitely worth to have on the favourite list.
I read this book because it was recommended to read as finally the main character is ace and that finally there is a good representation of it. Well I could definitely recommend this book for that purpose. Which is maybe why I shed a tear but I also did it because of Jason. I adore him. ...more

I don't even know where to start when I look at Sci-fi. But this... This book I loved.
First of all, I love Kira and the crew of the wallfish. I loved the development of Kira and how she was the main narrator for the book. She is a wonderful person that develops and makes choices that Paolini explains within the story. I love how the focus is on her and the narrator Jennifer Hale is amazing with her voice. There is not much I can say about Kira without spoilers I am afraid but also I don't know how to put things on paper, she is amazing in my opinion.
The same is with the rest of the crew as Jennifer Hale says in the interview at the end of the audiobook: Sparrow grows on you. She made me snort in the end of the book. I love every single one of them and the end part where they are all together (all or not, I am just saying all to avoid spoilers maybe or maybe not) I just felt very "emotional" and happy about the dialogue and moment. So yea, that was worth it, these characters grow on you and they are in dept and have their own stories and stuff. Which made it really good.
The world building is something I am familiar with when it comes to Paolini's books and it never disappoints. I know that I only read the translated work (so reading Inheritance cycle in English is now high on my list but the store is being annoying as it doesn't sell Inheritance...) With Sci-fi I am mostly afraid I think that it will become too scientific (and things that do not interest me) but it feels more like a little magical and just things that happen, which was what made it more fun and it was easy enough to keep up with. And he kept building it up and he also kept things away, not everything has to be explained. Somethings just exist.
I just want to point out again that the audiobook is masterful, Jennifer Hale did a marvelous job. Sign me up for more of her audio and more for his books in my opinion. ...more

Greek names or Ancient greek names are not usually sticking in my mind but Miller wrote it in the way that I could keep up with most people and gave them such distinctive characters, jobs, traits etc, that it was easy to be like: oooh right, this person. Instead of: eeeh who were you again? This is definitely something that I usally struggle with so it was a pleasant surprise.
The story of Patroclus and Achilles has been a very pleasant read (or audio because that was well done as well). It was fascinating to listen to, the writing style is amazing (the narration was done superb as well by the way, definitely recommend listening to the audiobook). I really like the Greek mythology stories (original and apparently retellings). I think this is definitely one of the nicest books.
I am still very into the "I read YA" mindset although I don't read that anymore (or not as often) and thus every time something explicit was written I just had to blink a few times, but this is definitely not a bad thing. I cannot wait to read more by Madeline Miller....more

I do not actively listen to Elton John's music but it's wonderful music that I bump into from time to time and I was curious to the man behind it. He always seemed so motivational and kind.
This audiobook and this autobiography is amazing. I love how he is blunt about it, does not hide he has not been good or kind at some moments and that he made mistakes. It makes him human and yet it makes me love him even more. He definitely had not the easiest life and I find it empowering that he just writes about all of it.
The audiobook which he narrates himself together with Taron Egerton just fits really well. It is perfectly done, it made me snort and hold my breath, shaking my head and just hope to continue and continue. I am absolutely glad I read this, this is without a doubt one of my favourite biographies because normally I am not such a fan of these books. ...more

Later had people return so the names were easy to remember and just there again. It was easier and it made it more interesting and more united. I don't know exactly the word I am looking for but it is a positive thing.
I like the idea about Jamie's power and how there is a plottwist near the end of the book about how the ghost was there the whole time. How that was not the end and maybe not even the craziest thing in the book. Some words Jamie used were obvious but not in the sense that you roll your eyes but in the sense that you chuckle when you are right. Some moments I snorted "no shit sherlock" when he said his sarcastic comments. I really think he was a great character.
I said it before but King's writing style feels easy to me. The suspence and just the building of sentence are fun and easy. I like how he uses the normal setting in this book and continues with a story that is not normal (for some people maybe?). As Jamie mentioned years and explained what was going on, I had moments that I wondered oh where was I that year, what was I doing. I think that's a good thing. It makes it only scarier if it is a regular setting and yet there are things out there that are scary and not good....more

But this book did sound different because it was about librarians. I wanted to learn about this character, this story and the situation. And this writer knows exactly what she was doing about this whole book. I enjoyed every bit of it. Surely some pages more than others but that does not matter!
The whole story about Odile was interesting, I liked how both storylines are about Odile and how she is not overwhelming. Which I think could happen sometimes. I like how the story in 1983 does not hide it is Odile. I do not always like how some timelines in other books try to hide the obvious. The story about her was interesting and how every puzzle piece was made in the story and not be dumped in every chapter. How the story about Lily explained a little more but made me feel like I learned faster about Odile than her (which in a way was very satisfying haha). How all the characters were introduced and yet slowly became more important so I remembered them better, which is very useful in a story where there are quite a few. In this case, it was Odile her colleagues.
The writing style was amazing, the information, the build-up of setting and the characters. Till the very last chapters, it was interesting because as Lily said the puzzle pieces were not complete yet. How the characters would return and why they would not return 40 years later. The story made logical jumps, made it interesting enough. I would definitely not mind rereading or listen to this again. ...more

I read someone in my goodreads feed who adored this audiobook. So I thought that this weekend I should listen to the audiobook (It was not that long which was helpful too hehe). But the voices were great, the story too. I was so excied about it and I thought that the characters were written well. The storyline itself is not that long but it is long enough to learn about the two girls. The afterword made it interesting that this is a normal thing and I could not imagine that it was. So the afterword was really interesting here.
Both girls and their lives are fascinating. Both the mother and aunty are interesting as well. The reaction, the anger was just there and not in detail but that is also very logical. You cannot fight something that aleady happened and you cannot fight someone who is not there.
Sometimes I did not understand why people clap when you land. Others say that it's the pilot's job so why do you clap? But why not? What is clapping to us but just a way of gratitude? We are not losing anything from it, we are thanking the airplane, the crew to bring us to our destination. In small, when the busdriver brings me to the destination I thank him too, by literally saying thanks before hopping off. It's great though that these people always bring us somewhere savely. They knwo how to do their job, but like Acevedo says; don't call it the pilot's fault, its probably a mechanical failure and so on. Some of my friends find flying scary because of the catestrophic result of a crash but flying in my opinion is amazing. I do not think about this possibility. But I am grateful for all the times I travelled by airplane that I arrived safely back on the ground and had a great experience abroad. ...more
