I'm not sure I can convey into words what is going on in my head right now, what I'm thinking about this story.
First off, I really really liked Jay! Such a good, sweet guy! And witty and smart! I loved how he tried to fool people into thinking he wasn't really this wiz kid and got away with doing all kinds of things.
Nicole was a mystery from the beginning, of course but I liked her character too. She seemed strong and with a good head on her shoulders, not the mean girl that somebody had to get back at by spraying her in the face with acid.
The mystery part of the plot!!!!! OMG! This is what I'm having trouble putting into words because it totally blew my mind! I never ever ever ever suspected the person it turned out to be, never! I was totally blindsided! It was so good! Keep me on the edge of my seat the whole time, fighting sleep because I wanted to stay up into all hours of the night to find out who did it in the end!
I would recommend this to anyone who likes mystery/thrillers. It will keep you guessing until the very end!...more

This book is no exception, it's a little predictable, but still really good.
I liked the characters, especially Spoon and Ema. They were my favorite because Spoon is hilarious with his random bits of trivia and Ema...even though her whole story is still a mystery, she had Mickey's back time and again.
Like I said somethings I could see from a mile away, but somethings really surprised me. I knew something was up with (view spoiler)[ the sandy haired EMT with green eyes because Mickey kept mentioning him. But! I didn't see it comimg that he would be the ultimate bad that Mickey would have to face down in the whole series! (hide spoiler)] That ending left me saying 'Whaaa???' Really it did! ...more

To know that the author took actual accounts of deportees that lived through the events that took place in this book just completely rips my heart to pieces.
I wish I could give it more stars, infinity stars!!! Because that is what it deserves, I usually stay away from like this because they render me to a crying puddle of tears, but a couple of my library friends wanted to read it and I'm glad I did. Especially after reading the author's note because everyone should know what happened to those people, we should never be allowed to forget! ...more

The mystery and suspense keep me on the edge of my seat and I didn't want to put it down, so it was fast paced and I read it in about a day.
It's told from various POVs and has lots of little extras like transcripts from 911 calls and evidence logs, which I really liked that added touch to the story.
As far as characters go, Gabie was kind of a strange girl. Really shy and reserved, but I think her knowing that she was this psycho's original target made her act out in ways that she probably wouldn't normally.
Drew was a really nice guy and what little romance there was between him and Gabie was sweet. Kayla was really my favorite of all of them. She was a spitfire! I loved her courage and heart! Can't really say anything else without spoilers, so I will just leave it at that.
I love the author's writing! She does such an awesome job with concealing the kidnapper's identity that there was no way I could figure out who it was until the end when it was revealed.
There wasn't any cursing and what little making out there was it wasn't heavy and not descriptive. There was some drinking and a reference to drugs. I would reccommend this to any age group as young as 12 or 13 years....more

It was amazing! I loved the idea for this book and the writing was beautuful and seamless, both historical and contemporary.
The historical part was in the form of a diary told from a girl named Alex. She tells her account of the French Revolutiion in bloody and horrible detail. She tells of how men and women became monsters for the sake of liberty, equality, fraternity. I'm not sure how much or which of those parts are ture, but her words broke my heart.
In present day Andi whose love for music is the only thing that keeps her grounded and is fighting her own internal battles of guilt, loss and a self medicated haze goes to Paris and finds the diary in an old guitar case and gets caught up Alex's words. So caught up that she starts to doubt reality.
I couldn't put it down! The diary portion of the book haunted me that I couldn't get it out of my head. So much it stayed with me in my dreams and will stay with me for a long time to come.
This book is so FREAKING AMAZING!!!! I loved it, everything about it, the story was so awesome and heart breaking and beautiful!!! I loved Lennie and This book is so FREAKING AMAZING!!!! I loved it, everything about it, the story was so awesome and heart breaking and beautiful!!! I loved Lennie and Bailey's characters so much, soooooo much in fact as I was reading I found myself wanting to meet them, IN PERSON!!! I don't think I've ever felt that way about a book before, EVER!!
Both Lennie and Bailey's characters were so real to me, the way Lennie carried her grief, it was so heavy and it just weighed her down. Her grief gripped me so bad, it reached in and wrapped itself around my heart and squueeeezzzzed!!!! From the very first page until the last, I was so caught up in all the emotion I couldn't help but be right there every step of the way with Lennie and Toby. UGH! TOBY!! I understand what and why it all happened but really I just wanted to shake them both really, really hard.
And you could tell Bailey was this light that burned so fierce and strong and I knew while reading that she was dead, but the way Lennie was writing about her, to her on these little papers, on a tree branch or whatever she could find. She had to get these feeling out, and I was wondering who...if anybody was finding them all, and if we were going to find out (view spoiler)[ Joe found them!!! (hide spoiler)] AWWW!!! That gave a warm and fuzzy feeling, I love it when I get those from books.
Joe was so sweet, with him batting his eyelashes every time he looked at Lennie. He wrote her music, and wouldn't give up on her (view spoiler)[ well until he saw Lennie and Toby KISSING!!! But then they made up so it all turned out good. (hide spoiler)]
I loved the way Nelson gave dramatic and over the top descriptions to Lennie's feeling and the way she had Sarah exclaiming out loud in types of animals or food when she got excited, so funny. I loved the ending, so great, so freaking epic, I will not be able to shut up about this book for a while. ...more

I knew that from the blurb on the back of the book that this book was going to be funny, action packed with some romance. I was not prepared for the roller coaster ride of a rush that it really was! It was hilarious, edge of your seat, can put it down thrill ride! The romance was very sweet (view spoiler)[ even with the age gap. (hide spoiler)]
I loved all the college application questions heading at the beginning of each chapter. Some were really funny and some made me think "What?"!! I'm so glad this is a series cause this book was just WAAAYYY too short!! I cannot wait to read the next book! ...more

All I really knew of the plot was there were some kids with avian DNA maybe saving the world, also it's James Patterson and this being my first book of his that I've read...I really REALLY liked it!!!
The characters were awesome, Angel being my favorite and Max was like a little mother taking care of all of them. Iggy, Gazzy and Nudge made me laugh so many times that I lost count. Fang was really sweet and always there for Max and all of them anytime they needed him and the Erasers were really creepy.
The story was action packed and it kept my interest, I was reading with some friends of mine so it made for a really great discussion. I want to read the next so bad, I want to pick it up like, right now this one was so good and I have so many questions that hopefully will get answered in the next one....more

I liked it, but it was hard to read of course it was being about death and all. I liked Cam, she was funny and clever, but she was weary and worn because of her illness. She wouldn't let people in and she had to learn how to live in the moment and it was a real struggle for her.
I liked Asher too, he was sweet and it's funny and ironic that they both had something to learn from each other. I enjoyed all the antics that they got themselves into, all the little miracles they witnessed.Perry was the perfect little sister and Lily the perfect best friend, Nana, Alicia and Iz were awesome characters too, especially Nana, she was just as funny as Cam.
It was a really beautiful story and I will miss the characters, I wasn't attached to them at first, but they grew on me, they really sneaked up on me and caught me by surprise and I really liked it in the end....more

I like the author's take on a society where of all things chocolate is contraband! I liked the idea of Anya's world, how it's not so far-fetched that it's almost scary to think that it could really happen. I liked the little segments when Anya is narrating and then she would be talking directly to the reader, I really loved that.
I loved Anya's character, she's strong, smart and witty. Win is a really good guy, their romance is sweet and tender which made it all the better being forbidden by his dad. His Dad!! He's awful, just awful!! He is on my list of characters I would like to Head Slap really hard!! Natty, Scarlet and Leo are really good characters too, and Leo! Poor Leo! :(
Anya had a hard road ahead of her in the next book so without giving spoilers all I can say is I really want to read the next one and I'm so glad it's already out! ...more

Taylor's imagination is so astounding, she takes a forbidden love story...think Romeo and Juliet...yes read it, seen it in movies dozens of times, but Taylor turns it into something more more more. The world she paints is full of monsters and angels, some good and bad on both sides. A world of war and suffering, wishes and pain.
Karou is a girl of seventeen with blue hair, growing at the root, know nothing of how she came to be, she just knows she grew up with monsters as a family and more questions than she knows what to do with and no answers. What are the teeth used for that she is sent to collect? Where does the inner door lead to? And why does no matter which door she opens on our side when she walks though she always ends in Brimstone's shop.
Karou's family is made up of some of these monsters; a grumpy half man half ram, Brimstone is the only dad she's ever known, Issa a motherly snake lady and others she loves as if they were blood relatives. Zuzana is her best friend and she is hilarious, not even five foot tall and a force to be reckoned with.
Akiva is an angel with fire in his eyes and heat coming off his wings, so much they can burn you and the most gorgeous man Karou has ever laid her eyes on. They fight try to kill each other and he could have, should have killed her but he didn't and he can't get her out of his head.
I'm afraid if I say any more than this I will let something slip and this book has lots of secrets that are best discovered by reading it, there lots of twists and turns that I didn't think would end the way they did, it was very well layered and planned out. It does go back and forth with flashbacks but I didn't have a problem understanding, though I would get anxious at some parts I was about to get answers to questions and then it would go forward or back. It played out like a movie in my head and I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading Days of Blood and Starlight....more

But I began to understand that was the way the Pretty Committee and the Specials kept the society oppressed. They conditioned everyone, the littlies, uglies and then (view spoiler)[ screwed up their brains even more with the lesions they purposely put there (hide spoiler)], and stayed with them as middle and late pretties. So when I started looking at like that I couldn't put it down, I had to know what happened to Tally, Shay and David.
I liked Tally, the fact that she was unsure of herself, insecure and her character growing into a confidant girl who still makes mistakes yet knows her own mind. Shay was kind of annoying, it seemed like she was always complaining about something, David was sweet and adorable. And so with what happens at the end, I really need to Pretties and find out how Tally takes out the bad guys....more

It was the kind of book that had a lot of anticipation, so much it was like a ton of bricks hanging over my head and I was waiting for it to fall on my head! This book would be awesome for a discussion! There was so much going on that I wanted to talk about it non stop! I loved Alex and Darla! I became attached right away! It was a fast read too! As many pages as it has and I only put it down long enough to play a couple of games of candy crush because I had to know what was going to happen to them!
I want to read the next book, but first I need to read a couple of fluffy teen romances first and then I'll be ready to just back into that world again!...more

I want to shout it from the roof tops! I want to tell everybody and anybody who will listen! Ok at first I had a little bit of trouble with not connecting with the story but just a teeny tiny bit and I can't even really say what I was having trouble with. I really got attached to the characters, it really was like watching them go through and endure the things they had to do to prove themselves. They called it initiation but it was like the worst kind and most horrible bootcamp who could possibly imagine. I sobbed like a big cry baby at the end, I was totally unprepared for what happened and did not see it coming, well with Al I saw that from a mile away but the rest I didn't not till it happened.
Tris is tough and fierce one minute and the next she is nice and always thinking about others and how they would feel and how she should help them. She didn't know what to make of that herself, she would feel gulity when she thought of how someone would feel about something she said or did...of course she would she was brought to do just that, that is what being Abnegation is to those in that faction...and then in the next breath, she would turn around and would not care one way or the other. It was like she was warring with herself inside and she had to learn another way to handle her and others feelings.
Four was an enigma at first, you could really see how Tris would try to solve the puzzle that he is. The romance was really good, once Tris and Four got to know one another he was really sweet, but not sickening to the point of gagging, he seemed to know whatever it was she needed at the time. He was her instructor/teacher, friend, boyfirend whatever she needed. But he didn't coddle her and treat her like she would break, he knew that she was strong and how much she could take.
I don't trust Marcus, something about him is not right, at all!! I hope Eric and Peter what is coming to them in Insurgent, they are due some pay back. Christina, Will and Uriah are all great characters and there are some disturbing parts but I can not wait to read Insurgent should be really good!!...more
