I didn't connect to that story. It's not that it wasn't well written, it's just that the story didn't interest me at all and the main character felt kI didn't connect to that story. It's not that it wasn't well written, it's just that the story didn't interest me at all and the main character felt kinda empty. I'm not the kind of readers that love that kind of writing, you know, the one that talks mostly about people with small issues with some kind of humor in it, almost sarcasm. I feel like most of the time it's kinda empty.
I love Gwendoline Christie's reading though and I'm going to see if she read other books. ...more

Dot Hutchison's writing style is nice and she really has a thing for writing about trauma. I loved seeing more of the inspectors in this one, more of their human side and the story was very engrossing. I loved the main character and her mother. They were a very lovable duo, kinda scary at times but layered and complex. I also was pretty happy to see some of the girls from the first book....
I don't really get the name of the series though. Why "The Collector" ? Maybe it'll make sense later but right now it really doesn't... I'll probably read the next book pretty soon, these are way more addictive than expected......more

I definitely agree with her. This was exactly what I needed.
It was funny. It was light-hearted. It talked about movies I've spend my life loving and watching and it was really just something you could read to take your mind off of everything. My favorite reviews were the one about Reality Bites, it was hilarious, and the one about American Pie, it was really really on point.
