Stories in which one main character is a slut, an asshole, a hypocrite and a cheater with ZERO redeeming qualities and the other the weak faithful pet who does all the begging and forgiving time and again (for what, exactly?) even though his "mate" is so often crude, rude and cruel to him. And where everything is resolved with one screaming match where ironically, NOTHING is resolved followed by a round of sex.

I would definitely recommend it to readers who enjoy paranormal, m/m and moderate BDSM in their romance. ...more

2. I don’t understand how Jace's character is supposed to come across as remotely likeable since he beats, bullies and humiliates Jordan.
3. The rest of the characters were a problem also. Sunny, Jordan’s best friend, apparently grew up calling Jordan gay hoping that it would turn him gay, and the “little pack” made up by the young werewolves in the pack are either blind and deaf or stupid for not realizing Jace beat Jason after the book incident.
4. Jason apologized to Jace! For what exactly? For being bullied? I don’t even know what to say to that.
5. Jason fell “madly in love” with Jace for absolutely NO reason. I don’t usually mind insta-love, but I do mind reading about falling instantly in love with the person who has abused you for so long for absolutely no reason other than being mates. Especially since, understandably, Jason couldn’t stand Jace before realizing they were mates.
6. When Jace started going mad from the mating bond, the pack decided that verbally abusing the “girl” who is supposed to be hiding, was the best way to get “her” to come forward. Yup, hearing screams of “bitch” would make up my mind.
7. I didn’t particularly enjoy reading about a character who only stops bullying the other because they’re mates. I just wasn’t able and/or willing to reconcile the Jace that repeatedly punched Jason in the face with the Jace who called him beautiful the following day.
8. Jace acted like a petulant, immature child, even after professing his 12-hour-long deep, deep love for Jason. The changes in his personality gave me whiplash. He would be whiny, catty and conceited one moment and call Jason sweetheart the next. Also, not once did he apologise for the bullying. So since Jace’s behavior was never explained (there seemed to be no reason for it), and he never apologised for the bullying, I just can't rate this any higher. ...more

ThI feel like I just got out of a car that Vin Diesel was driving at 160 km/h. I feel a little disoriented and queasy, but addicted at the same time. The story was fast. And confusing. Really confusing. Frustrating and original. Very original. It would have been a 5 star read if there had been more romance. I powered through the book's 354 pages in just over 12h because I was hooked (!) and all I got were two miserable little kisses at the very end. There were quite a few moments where things were going a little crazy in the book and I just wanted everyone to sit down and talk like civilized, well, monsters, but that didn't happen. I really need a sequel out pronto.

UnfI like Gabrielle Evans’ writing a lot more than I like some of the other Silver Publishing authors', there are even some of her books that I love. Unfortunately her series are becoming more and more forgettable. I’ve read about 15 of her books in the last year and I find it really hard to remember anything specific about the other couples when they’re mentioned in newer books.
Something I didn’t understand about this one in particular really nagged at me throughout the story. So October lost his first mate and was obviously devastated. Yet he had others lovers afterward until he met Raith? Aren’t mates supposed to die without each other? Or at the very least not be attracted to other people? If your mate’s your other half and he or she passes away shouldn’t no one else be able to measure up?
Don’t get me wrong; there were good things in the book. There’s a reason I like Gabrielle Evans. Keito, the child that was introduced in this story was one of them, he was adorable. I’ve also always liked how she deals with relationships. Her characters are well rounded and though they’re mated their relationship takes work and communication, which always pays off in the end. ...more

Gabby was fun with his mile-a-minute talk and likeable due to his insecurities. His being half-vamp brought no real conflict to the story though, which was a bit of a let down. It would have made sense for it to not have been introduced as a set back at all when it simply wasn’t. I liked Montana too, he just took Gabby in stride. Once he got over the initial shock of his mate he was loving and just dealt with everything that came their way.
A lot goes on in the books considering their length but it's a shame that when something really interesting is introduced it ends with the corresponding couple's book and isn't revisited later on. I would have loved to have read about Heaven’s pregnancy and his twins. What does it say on their birth certificates? How have Heaven and Murdock dealt with it all? Johnny’s improved so much since book 2 too; maybe we could have gotten a little something about what’s been going on with him? I don’t really want to read about another of the mates' escapades.
It’s great to see that the paranormal world is growing in the series too, so that now there are not only wolves and vampires but also fairies and bears and *whispers* demons. This series is light and goofy and the books are meant as an uncomplicated read and always leave a smile on my face. ...more

While Noah’s reason for pushing Zack away was understandable, staying away for so long when it turned out he’d been in the same house all along every summer Zack went to visit and all he’d had to do was go and talk to Zack didn’t make any sense to me. It seemed to have created a lot of unecessary angst considering how quick Zack was to forgive Noah for abandoning him. This was my main reason for not really enjoying it enough to rate it with 4 stars. I would have understood if Zack knew the reason for why it happened before he forgave Noah or if I hadn’t had to read about how heartbroken he’d been for 3 years and how hurt. When they get together it was a very “I’m so sorry”, “Ok, I forgive you and will love you forever” moment and left me feeling rather cheated. (view spoiler)[Reading how turned on they got when feeding from other people just served to turn me off. (hide spoiler)] I liked how in love and infatuated they were with each other, but by the end of the book I was more than ready to say goodbye to these characters and move on to another book. ...more

I didAs a story of BDSM between a vampire and a human I really enjoyed it. The characters were both strong and the world they lived in had potential. I didn't actually think Keats was a brat, as submissive as he was (which I doubted at times, at least outside the bedroom) he was no pushover and had no problem in establishing his boundaries. I smiled a lot at Leland's confusion at Keats' antics and wish we'd gotten more of a background on their friendship before Leland was forced to collar Keats at the vampire gathering. ...more

Jaz Maloney is a Vitala (or vampire) who is targeted by a man who wishes to become his master. When Jaz turns him down one time too many, his stalker goes through with his threats of making him regret it and destroys his family. In Vitala culture this means that Robertson now basically owns Jaz and everything that is his. Thankfully, Jin, a beautiful stranger who Jaz had met at a club steps in.
I really enjoyed this story, but it was too short. Jaz has incredible low self-esteem and felt sorry for himself quite a bit. However, it didn’t actually bother me, even though I never actually understood where his low self esteem came from exactly. Jin was sexy, misterious and a real sweetheart. I can't wait for the day where Ms. Cease writes longer m/m books. ...more
