The ending was heartbreakingly perfect. I absolutely loved every minute.

I have never met this author, but we have become social media friends. She thinks I'm crazy, which I am, so she asked if she could write me into her book and I of course said yes.

I was expecting this to be much smuttier, but it really was a slow burn and I was totally okay with it. The world she built was amazing and I was sucked in from the start.
This is definitely a book that makes you laugh and want too throw something. There were times I wanted to throttle Jude. Granted there were times I wanted to throttle her as well. But she made me laugh so I got over it.
If you are an audio girly, these are free on Audible with a membership and while its not the best, it was pretty good. I definitely need to dive into some more of this author and support her family. It's a shame we lost her so early, she was a true talent. ...more

And I was right, this kept your girl up until late into the evening and then I had to lay there and process it all. Fuck, I'm still processing it.
What this girl lived through was something that is not for the faint of hearts. This was not a book that kept you warm and cozy, every time you think that her flashbacks are at their worst she proves you wrong.
I pray there are not towns like this in real life. Everyone in this town deserved to burn to the ground.
The progression of this story was done perfectly. The way all the details came out in a progression, making you as the reader and the characters process all the details and truly realize how fucked up it all was.

You know those books that you hate to love. Those books that make you live in a world that you don't want to be in, but you can't bring yourself to leave......That is Dmitri and Honor's world. There were so many times I could barely breath waiting to see what was going to happen and praying that it was want I thought it would be, because any other thing would be pure fucking torture.
Don't go into this book thinking Dmitri is this amazing man. HE IS A FUCKING ASSHOLE, but he has every fucking right to be that way. I wanted to push him in the dick, but hug him while doing it.

She can take you on a ride so high that you would normally want to jump off of because you are scared of heights, but find yourself at the very top with no ability to stop, so wrapped up in the view that you can't even think to be scared.

Jameson and Kody take a minute to get together in this one, because Jameson is kind of an asshole. Not a normal asshole, but the good kind - the overprotective dad, fight your feelings kind of asshole. Where you kinda want to cuddle him after you punch him in the throat.
Kody is fresh out of a marriage to a complete different kind of asshole, the bad kind that make you feel a little stabby, so she doesn't have time to deal with Jameson's hot and cold nature....at least that is what she thinks.
One of my favorite tropes Tory rights is a single parent. SHE RIGHTS A FUCKING KID LIKE NO ONE ELSE. Jojo (Jameson's Daughter) will forever hold a place in my fucking heart. That little girl stole the fucking show in this book.
