Why not 5 stars? I needed Boxer's POV. I needed to hear from him while she was gone, I needed to hear from him in the hospital. Authors, STOP LEAVING THESE GUYS OUT!! We need to hear from them.
I'm not a huge fan of trigger warnings (so I usually skip them), because I don't get triggered and I think sometimes it can take away that moment where you just have to stop and live in it, even when its hard. BUT, I can see some not being able to hand what Linden has to go through on page.
And how she responded to it. I won't lie, I wasn't sure how to feel about her responses, but once I finished and she started to "heal" a little, it made sense and I feel like it was a very valid response.
I liked her more than Mia. I think her backbone showed more. Both of these girls have abandonment issues, and you can see them pretty clear in how they handle their relationships, but in the end they both kept fighting instead of taking the easy route.
I will definitely be on the look out for the rest of the audiobooks when they come out. ...more

Why 3.5? Honestly, the heroine was not awful, but she also wasn't my favorite. I just didn't fully connect with her, which is probably a "me" issue. There was just something I didn't love, but I can't put my finger on exactly what it was.

I can't even tell you why I loved it so much. The characters, the writing, the easy yet enthralling storyline for each book.
Gabe and Sylvia have an underlying romance building, SLOWLY - ya'll I hate slow burns but I love them.
Willie, Daisy and Alex are great 2nd characters. The mystery about where Sylvia comes from, the light magical essence throughout and each books mystery about a book is so well done, especially if it kept my attention for 6 days.

I have been picking up books of all types lately based on the blurb and not reviews - I KNOW, I'M SHOCKED TOO.
This one surprised me how pulled in I was from the beginning. Even now, I'm not 100% sure why I liked it so much. Maybe it was the writing, maybe it was the characters, no idea. I can't really explain it, but I really liked it.

I didn't really know what to expect when I went into this book, so that might help my review too. If you can make me happy without reading the word penis in a book once, you did good.
Seriously though, I actually really enjoyed this and was pulled in from beginning to the end. It wasn't action packed, but it had enough going on to keep me guessing and intrigued. I do love a good "who done it" book. I didn't really see the twist, but it made sense at the same time.

The characters together are all so different, but blend well. I would have loved to see Sadie do a little more with Lily's fucked up past, but the again it might have made the book too deep.

So please note, this trope (PNR RH) is still new to me, so I'm not super picky on RHs, since this is maybe the 2nd or 3rd I have tried. What I am is a PNR junkie. I can get lost in the world building that some of the romance build up doesn't matter as much to me.
I went into this series with an open mind, knowing that it had a lot of mixed reviews, but I enjoyed every single book. There was a perfect mixture of world and relationship development. I liked all the characters, even though I wanted to throttle West and Marco from time to time.
Ren's friendship with Kylie was a little off for me in the 2nd book, but it came back in the 3rd and 4th.
There was enough in this story to keep me going through all 4 books, which says something because I'm not usually a fan of multiple books for one heroine.

This kid, Damon, lived a long life before he even turned 18. This was not always an easy book to read, especially when I have a son the same age as him. I just kept picturing my son in his situations.
Is this book too long? Yes. Could I pick parts to remove? No.
