26 years ago 6 teenagers are kidnapped and kept hostage at The Bad Place, only 5 are rescued. Years later they still meet up every year, the only thing they have in common was the terrible ordeal they went through together. Each has been affected differently but all hide their psychological scars from the outside world.
Told over 2 timelines the story goes back to the kidnapping and present time where a similar crime takes place. Are the 2 incidents connected?
D.I Sasha Dawson is running the investigation, she is a real woman trying to balance a career with bringing up 2 children.
A book that is hard to put down, I wanted to just read 1 more chapter before bed but soon found myself finishing this in the early hours of the morning.
Looking forward to the next book in this series.

As I have never read the others in this series I did find it difficult to begin with as it keeps mentioning a past trafficking case, but I soon found myself engrossed.
A man’s body is found in a care home, he has been suffocated, had his wedding ring finger removed and has confetti scattered on him. When his daughter goes to identify the body she is angry as this man is not her dad, who have they been paying for, to stay in the care home?
When another victim is discovered they realise there is a link to the two as they were both involved in a property scam. Is it revenge from one of their victims?
This is definitely a series you can sink you’re teeth into. A great whodunnit that will keep you guessing until the end.

She works on the night shift with Lennie her friend and is getting over the death of her husband Grant to Cancer.
Whilst working she spots Hannah, the baby she gave away for adoption. She knows it’s illegal and immoral but she can’t help but keep watching her!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it has secrets, lies and murder that kept me guessing until till the end. Makes you realise whilst you are out doing everyday tasks that big brother is always watching you!!
A must read. My favourite books are the one’s where you think you know where the story is going and then the Author takes you on a different road, this book definitely ticks that box.
I haven’t read a Julie Corbin book before but will definitely be looking for her other books.

We fast forward to a year later and Abi is still missing. The neighbours are having a housewarming party and Ava’s husband Matt thinks it will do her good to get out of the house.
At the party Ava will discover something about the day Abi disappeared that will set off a chain of events, a comment said that will throw some light on what happened on that dreadful day!! Ava’s life is about to be unravelled as she looks at her neighbours in a new light!!
I was completely engrossed in this book. I could feel the panic and despair the couple felt when they discovered their little girl was missing. I knew in my heart this wasn’t going to be a fairytale ending but boy the finale was something that will stick in my head for a long while, I reread the ending as I couldn’t believe what I read!!
A must read gripping thriller that will keep you hooked until the bitter end.

An intriguing start. Naomi watches her sister Ruth getting ready to go, out not knowing this may be the last time she will see her again.
The book is An intriguing start. Naomi watches her sister Ruth getting ready to go, out not knowing this may be the last time she will see her again.
The book is told from numerous people’s prospectives with different timelines. This can be either very confusing or very clever, but with this story it works perfectly.
Alice is married to George a television presenter who was formerly a politician, she has always known he was a ladies man and has often wondered about his previous relationships. They met at university where George was a disliked by other students for his sense of entitlement and confident air.
Whilst on a train Alice thinks she sees Ruth, but Ruth went missing years before when they were at university and was presumed dead. Alice knows her husband knew Ruth but when asked he at first denies knowing her, then admits he did. Alice goes digging to find out more and as the story goes back in time secrets are revealed.
The time goes back to when Alice, George, Ruth and Kat were at university and leads up to the night that Ruth goes missing after attending a ball.
I couldn’t put this book down. I love books about friendships and secrets and this kept me guessing until the end.

Tess is not a fitness fanatic and definitely not a fan of Lycra. She is swayed by going to Barcelona for the culture rather than the marathon.
Tess meets the very handsome and enigmatic Roberto who offers to show her the sights. Is Roberto all he makes out to be and could this be love for both of them?
I’m not a fan of love stories as they can be predictable, but this was so beautifully written so atmospheric, that I felt like I was experiencing the sights, smells, delicious food and wine that Tess did. Definitely on my to visit list.

From the first page you are instantly drawn into this action packed suspense thriller!!
Serial killer Henry Roberts is a dark and evil character that gave me chills reading about him, he shows no remorse for his victims, saying that he set them free and that he is God’s disciple.
Inspector George Elms has the unenviable task of visiting Henry in prison. Henry is dying and wants to be moved to a prison with a sea view, which he has paid to be built and staffed himself and in return he will tell George where 2 of his victims are. Poor George doesn’t agree with this but has to go along with it as the powers that be have the final say.
George is a very strong, likeable character, passionate about his job and desperate to find out the truth. I have to admit to a crush on George and if he turned up at my door with a packet of Jammy Dodgers I wouldn’t need persuading to let him in!!!
A must read book with an excellent ending that doesn’t disappoint.

That will be the last time she will see her daughter alive!!
The investigation into who killed Roxy has many suspects including the two brothers who owned the house that Roxy was discovered in, they also own a nightclub and are very evasive.
There are a number of suspects and everybody appears to be lying, this is not a straight forward case and will keep you guessing.
This is one of my favourite crime series. D.I Natalie Ward is a strong character trying to desperately balance family life with work. The team she works with are like family and the more we get to know about their personal lives the more this series comes to life. They just get better and better!!!
