I was immediately invested in the story due to the emotions that each consequent character dealt with as well. Despite being a strong procedural law enforcement story, this really dug into my heart and had me reading at moments when I should have set it aside and got busy with life.
I enjoyed all the steps these characters took to work out who, what, where and why. There were some great twists along the way. Some I suspected were coming and others blindsided me completely. I love when a story can tangle me up in such a way.

While the romance is not in the forefront of the story, it is never forgotten. This author had it interwoven throughout the drama and danger in such a way it added to the intensity of the climax of the story and I loved every moment.

Lexi wins the strongest heroine award, hands down, as she takes a stand that doesn’t go over well with those around her. Her background has taught her lessons that others have been fortunate to not learn. Struggling against her past experiences as well as her emotions, she’s fighting a battle I wasn’t sure would guarantee her a happy ending. This author wrote this in a way that I felt a connection with Lexi throughout her journey and my heart hurt for her in every way.

I loved the way Trey came into awareness of his own needs. The situation he was in was perfect and holy heck, I bawled my eyes out with certain scenes and dialogue. It felt as though I were standing in the room with him and each consecutive step afterwards gripped my heart in a way that I was breathless from emotion.
This is definitely the very best duet this author has ever written. I was completely captivated by these characters and the manner in which Ms. York addressed their problem as well as their resolution and ultimately a set of the most incredible epilogues I could ever ask for.

I am completely taken by Sav and Anya’s story. The evolution of their relationship has been absolutely stunning. Not only have they grown closer emotionally but their unspoken feelings of the heart makes my own ache. And of course there is their physical attraction that is the very definition of INTENSE.

Everything about, not only this book but the previous one, is why I read and adore anti-heroes. Especially those created by this author.

This book was so much fun with plenty of laugh out loud moments. With a quirky heroine who has a pet rat and a grumpy hero that finds her endearing despite him hating the world, this set me up to fall in love within the first few pages. I did so with complete glee.

This author has won me over by creating fun stories that are filled with wild antics, animals that could win supporting characters in the movies, and friends and family that add to all the shenanigans. And I love every hilarious moment. Add in the I-can’t-help-falling-in-love moments as well as the steam that accompanies some of those moments and each one of them hit the top of my favorite rom-com list.

This has a lot of back and forth between several characters which threw me off a time or two. I found it hard to keep track at times but after a few moments of running backwards in my mind, I quickly caught up with where we were and could move forward. While I really loved the basic storyline, there was a bit that I found to be unbelievable which gave my excitement a little hiccup and had me hesitating to reevaluate. However, I’m a very lenient reader and I was able to suspend belief and continue on this wild ride.

While this is not a “no touch” zone, this is definitely a slower burn than what I'm currently accustomed to reading and that this author has given us in the past. She sets the stage beautifully creating an organic relationship between the hero and heroine without rushing them and I loved how things evolved for them.

I adored Nora and Linc and their story kept me engaged and turning pages. And yet, for me, Sophie was the magic in this story. I loved that Ms. Curtis made sure not to set her on a shelf and forget about her but allowed her to shine.
This story was fully fleshed out with well rounded characters and a storyline that was fun, heart felt, and had a level of steam that will have you making sure no one is reading over your shoulder. Along the way there’s just enough drama and conflict to keep you guessing what’s next. I loved seeing the characters from the previous books and yet this book can be read as a standalone.

I am not really a fan of book series but Melinda Leigh, via Bree Taggert, has pulled me in and keeps me coming back for more. I am always fascinated by the storyline and the journey to solve the mystery. And I never win at the guessing game because this author always throws in a twist or two that I didn’t see coming. When you add in the creation of characters that feel real, think real, and act real, which Bree, Matt and their family and cohorts do, I’m not going anywhere.

I really liked the broodiness of Julian but would have rather not gone down the path of sensuality he took us on. That’s just not my preference. Elspeth was fun and bright and perfect for him. I liked her immediately and was excited to see where her character would land. Lots of things were happening in this book and I’m not sure that any of them were fully flushed out. I would have liked a bit more of one thing instead of little bits of several things.

Going into this story I did not realize that it was the third book of a series. While I was able to follow the storyline, there were a few times I felt a bit lost regarding past actions and characters. Nevertheless, I found this book to be enjoyable.

Give me two characters that are both so delightfully developed into their own unique personalities, and those personalities clash and yet attract at the same time, and I’m all in!
While I’m usually all about the hero, this time the heroine, Esme, stole not only the story, but my heart. She was fun and feisty, had a sharp wit about her and an edge of sarcasm that had me laughing out loud. Of course none of that would have affected me had Tyler’s dry personality, his lack of humor and his driving need to protect her at all cost not been the backdrop to her actions.
This was such a fun story. I found myself thinking about Esme and Tyler when I was not reading and hating to see the end of the book approaching with each turn of the page. As lighthearted as much of their story was, it was also layered with danger and drama from outside forces. This author absolutely laid it down when marrying the two elements together.

This is fun, smexy, romantic suspense at its best!

Saverio is all that I adore in a possessive, over protective hero who doesn’t know he’s in love with the girl. I loved the way he interjected himself into Anya’s life and then pulled her into his. She’s perfect for him even if she isn’t aware of it, yet. I really like seeing them together while neither realizes how they are feeling about the other.
There is a threat of danger right at the edge of Anya and Sav’s relationship and the ebb and flow of it is making me anxious without overdoing it. I can’t wait to see where this author is going to take us and how we’re going to get there. I’m loving everything about this old fashioned alpha, mafia story!

I absolutely loved Jillian and Lucas. Their initial interactions added a bit of fun to the moments they began to move from friendly acquaintances to something hot and steamy. I adored Lucas and his protectiveness over Jillian as much as I loved her for her spirit and independence. Together they were everything I adore about romance. This mystery definitely had me guessing…and getting it wrong every time. I have quickly become a huge fan of this series and as someone who usually does not like interconnected books, that’s huge. I like that this can be read as a standalone, but I will say that it’s so much better if you read Naughty or Dead and then Caught Dead first. These are all very fast reads that carry a huge load of fun and satisfaction.

I absolutely LOVE this “world” Ms. Reus has created. And I hate that we only get it during the holidays. This is the type of rom-com I adore because it’s cute, fun, steamy, and has an edge of danger and suspense to it. It’s never over the top silly or so dark I feel like I’m suddenly in another story and I appreciate the balance she gives us.

This is filled with characters that had me smiling and antics that made me giggle. The relationship between Aileen and Dante was sweet even as things started steaming up between them. The possessiveness Dante felt as Aileen is stretching her wings got me in my alpha loving feels. I want so much more of not only this couple but of all the hitmen in the neighborhood.

Mack and Anna’s story pulled me in, and holy heck, it kept me hanging on to every single word on the page. This is rich with so much emotion while submerging me into the harsh realities of living in a post apocalyptic world. The world building feels real, the characters are relatable and the chemistry/steam of these two together was unlike anything I’ve read from this author before. It is layered with danger, laced with angst, and filled with warmth and humanity.

I loved that Carson was protective without ever crossing the line. I was concerned Sienna might end up being too tough for more liking but she was perfect. She knew when she needed help and never did the “too stupid” heroine things. Both were wonderful characters, strong, fierce, loyal and totally likable.
A perfect read for a quick break with plenty of action and lots of steam.

She proves it once more with Jinx and Ali. Ali was such a unique heroine with her background and career, she was perfect for Jinx.
As always, this hero fits into everything I love about the main character. Protective, possessive, jealous when the occasion arises and determined to make and keep her as his own.
”I am a f---ing lying bas--rd, you know that - but I am a bas--rd who is loyal to you. If it means you are protected, I will lie, steal, cheat, or kill in an instant.”
He’s also more than he appears on the surface. Getting to know the real Jinx was a journey only one woman could travel and even then he had a bit of a struggle. I loved every part of him.
This is one scorching thrill ride with twists and turns that kept me engaged each step of the way. If this is what it’s like to get jinxed, then sign me up...I need to be Jinxed!

Getting more from the Trouble for Hire group added moments that had me grinning from ear to ear. And we also meet Jinx’s brother Ramsey. His story is next and I suspect we’re going to have a whole lot of alpha overload with him and his lady. I can’t wait!
This can be read as a standalone although all the Trouble guys are worth checking out.

Lisa was one tough heroine with a heart of gold and a need to take care of those around her. She struggles accepting help from others but when Brick, after two years, has had enough of her stubborn ways, forces his assistance on her she begins to open herself up to not only love but to new, stronger friendships. Watching that change was sweet and I respected the heck out of her as she dealt with all the twists that life had dealt her.

Brick was exactly as I had hoped he would be. He’s protective, possessive, and very much aware of the beauty that he has in his life with Lisa and the kids. Then again, this author always gives me heroes that I crave. Knowing Brick was celibate throughout the years he was waiting on Lisa made me love him all the more.

This was a relatively fast read with the angst and drama arising from outside the relationship between Brick and Lisa. Watching them make what they had with all the children was beautiful even as they fought against the danger that laid outside their door. I can’t get enough of this group of characters created in this world and I’m super excited to see what’s happening next!
