Williams fan, I was surprised to see a nonfiction book in the collection. Turns out it's by a different author, just with the same name (why do so many people just use their initials?!) but I'm glad I bought it. I've never thought much about 'misinformation, conspiracy and fake news' before, I guess it has never really been an issue for me as I mostly read a lot of fiction stories (sucker for the classics!). I did find this book to be a real eye-opener though, I realized I've been both a victim and a purveyor of misinformation for years, just by sharing posts on social media or by accepting a story as true without question. There is a really interesting section on how to talk to people who insist on fake news/conspiracy theories being true and a cool section about various conspiracy theories throughout history (I hadn't actually heard of several of them!). Unexpectedly one of my favorite reads this year - the writing style is approachable, it doesn't treat the reader like an idiot, but you also don't need a degree to understand the topics that are covered. There is some humor throughout and I must admit some of it is a little weak, kind of how I remember my grandad making jokes that he thought I'd appreciate, but that does make it quite endearing. The cover art is pretty poor - Briar, who is credited for the design, probably tried to make it himself on an old graphics design program, but as they say "don't judge a book by its cover!"
5* - an accidental find, but really a very interesting book. Looking forward to seeing more from the same author!...more

Williams for a while and I've followed the Stormborn Saga through its ups and downs. Is every book a hit? No, I'll admit that some are a little weaker than others, some plot developments are a little unnecessary and didn't really lead where I thought they'd go. However, I've rated 5* because of the overall Saga! Loved it - loved the characters, the settings the overall narrative. I'm being REALLY careful to avoid spoilers, so you should just read it and see for yourself!...more

Like many of us, I struggled during 'Covid times', not just because I was stuck at home and my state had a very strict policy in place, but also because I felt like I'd been in a rut since before the whole thing started. It was at the start of 2021 when I came across Sincero's book and it gave me the inspiration I needed to make some big changes to my life (once I could go outside and all). Some parts genuinely brought a smile to my face too! I admit that I couldn't relate to every part of the book, as I'm sure was the case with many readers (and hence just 4*) but it was still a great read! Thanks Jen!!...more
