I wasn't expecting connected short stories, definitely was thinking this was a full blown novel. That being said there was so much that just hit hard, pandemic-wise. Each story has a different narrator, which I really enjoyed, especially as many of them were POC. Overall, enjoyed the vibe, wasn't sold on the ending, but it was entertaining....more

The inner monologue felt forced and I think there were just too many characters that no one really got enough attention to make them full and rounded. (Also (view spoiler)[ like almost everyone on the ship who isn't a human dies at the end so......... and while I'm in spoiler mode, Marrant's powers don't make any sense and feel just super awkward overall - The whole psychic attack making everyone hate the person dissolved? Why is Marrant doing these things? What's his real motivation? There's WAY too much that is going on and nothing is fully fleshed out (hide spoiler)]) The premise was amazing, but this just fell flat for me....more
