Beautiful Devilis the third interconnected Standalone from Rachel Leigh’sMisfitsseries. This particular book has us following Brogan Alexis Astor, younger sister to Elodie Astor from book oneHeartless Monster. And her love interest Hockey player Hayes Madden in an Enemies to Lovers, Grumpy/Sunshine, Opposites Attract, College Hockey Romance.
The story of Brogan and Hayes may have been a love/hate, back and forth, pushing and pulling romance. But that didn’t take away from the other elements that were bought forth to the table in following their journey. That of which consisted of drama, conflict and banter, given the entertainment it led to at times. These two kept each other on their toes in nearly all their interactions with one another, especially with the building tension surrounding them. Particular in the situations that called for it, ultimately pushing you through every page turn to see just where it would lead them and how their story would play out.
Author Rachel did a good job in making the storytelling of Brogan and Hayes an engaging read. The showcasing of development within not only the storyline from the many tropes that made up the narrative as well as the inclusion of surprise twists along the way, given the mystery alluded to throughout, helping to build up the plot as it moved along. But also in their developing relationship, showing the changes and growth from all they endured and faced, whilst building upon their chemistry, ultimately taking them from Enemies to Lovers.
There were a couple of letdowns for me. One being the story did move a little fast for my liking from how quickly everything developed, making it feel a little rushed IMO. And the other was the resolvement that paved way to the ending. Once again, it was too fast for my liking the way it all came about, only to then result in the end of the story. Considering the buildup towards the crescendo, it had me expecting to see the climax play out further more, adding further exploration than what was showcased. Instead of rushing through everything all within one chapter.
Overall, Rachel Leigh did a good job, with Brogan and Hayes storyBeautiful Devilstill making for a good, easy, enjoyable read in the end. Even despite my issues.

Meant For Gabrielis book 4 in Natasha MadisonMeant Forseries. Through dual POVs of the FMCZara Petrov and MMCGabriel Jacob McIntyre, we follow their story in this Accidental Pregnancy, Single Dad, Opposites Attract, Small Town Romance.
From the narrative author Natasha delivered when it came to seeing Zara and Gabriel’s journey, it made for a simple read. With a cute, sweet and yet steamy story that was easy going, it allowed the plot to flow through. Whether it be following along in the learning of Zara and Gabriel’s characters individually through their POVs, including the lives they lived alongside family and friends. Or exploring the growing relationship between Zara and Gabriel after they meet. Something that most definitely made for a spicy read given all the sexy time they shared together. It played into the mostly straightforward plot, with some very minor hiccups along the way.
It should be known that even though this is a Standalone, given the crossover with the appearances of many secondary characters. If you haven’t read any of the previous books from this series, as well as some of the other series, you may become overwhelmed and lost. Something that happened with me in trying to figure out who was related to who and keep on top of it all, even more so with every new appearance.
AlthoughMeant For Gabrielstill had its enjoyable moments, unfortunately that didn't stop it from having its downfall for me. The lack of conflict caused the story to have no pizazz or a real climax to look forward to, since it seemed to be missing a third act IMO. Something the story had me hoping for. Without it, the story just fell too flat for my liking.
Despite my issue,Meant For Gabrielstill ended up being a sweet and affectionate contemporary romance, ultimately making for an overall pleasant read in seeing Zara and Gabriel eventually come together and have a HEA.

In this Opposites Attract, Brother’s Rival, OneThe latest release from Jennifer SucevicWestern Wildcats Hockeyseries is here withMine to Take. In this Opposites Attract, Brother’s Rival, One Night Stand, Sports Romance, we follow the story of Maverick McKinnon; little brother of Juliette McKinnon fromHate You Alwaysand Willow Thompson through the telling of their dual perspective.
Maverick and Willow brought all kinds of feels in the exploration that took place in the aftermath of their one night stand. Although seeing the two navigate through the path they found themselves on, that turned out to be a somewhat complicated journey due to the drama and secrets, lies and deceit that was to be had. Particularly on Willow’s part from all that she was keeping from Maverick. It was no surprise it made for a rocky terrain with the little bumps in the road, especially from the ups and downs they both faced in the budding relationship shared between them.
Simultaneously Maverick and Willow's relationship was sweet, cute and full of affection, the way it blossomed into so much more than either could expect as time went on. What most definitely couldn’t be denied or ignored was the sizzling side of their chemistry, which continued to sizzle bright and cause major sparks. With every touch shared, it led to their intimacy level becoming more hot, fiery and steamy as heck. Especially given the newly discover of pleasures they shared together along the way, causing the fire alarms to sound.
Mine to Takehas to be one of my top favourites fromWestern Wildcats Hockeyseries to date. There was just something about Maverick and Willow in the way they were able to be there for one another and help the other out, despite still getting to know each other. And the way author Jennifer brought them to life through this made them feel all the more real. Especially with the real life subject matters she included and addressed throughout. Ultimately bringing a sense of realise somewhat, whilst having it add a depth to the narrative.
Given the combination of a well written out storyline that allowed not only an in-depth narrative development, as well as character development from the changes within the growth showcased through Maverick and Willow. It’s no surpriseMine to Taketurned out to be a wonderfully enjoyable read with all the deep feels. Author Jennifer Sucevic now has me looking forward to Hayes Van Doren’s bookBreak My Heartnext.

Breeding The Beautyby Everly Love is book 4 in herKnocking up the Princessseries. ThisBeauty & The Beastspicy Fairytale retelling is an Enemies to Lovers, Age Gap Romance told through the dual POVs of Bella Smith and Dominik Volkov.
For being a novella,Breeding The Beautymade for an interesting read. This short, fast read had author Everly delivering a plot that contained drama, mystery, suspense, some unexpected twists and major heat. All the whilst getting to know the FMCBella and MMCDominik and following them on what resulted in being quite an intriguing ride.
Just likeBreeding Cinderella, author Everly delivered high levels of steam within the novella. It was sizzling hot and raunchy with raging lustful fire that was spicy AF, causing the metaphorical alarms going off between Bella and Dominik in every moment shared between the two.
WhilstBreeding The Beautywas a decent read, given it being a short story. Unfortunately it did have its issues for me. One of my main issues was the enemies to lovers dynamic, the trope IMO did not seem to play out enough or transition well, giving the flip flop between Bella and Dominik. Though particularly on Bella’s side with not being able to make up her mind going from hate to like to hate to like all over again. And that too one too many times. The other issue was from the twist that came into play and the results that came about from it, which not only did not make sense to me given how quickly it was overcome and forgotten, but IMO it made Bella and Dominik's relationship feel disingenuous when it came to their HEA.
In the end, despite my issues,Breeding The Beautyby Everly Love still made for a good read, especially with being a quick short story.

Billionaire Grumpis book two in author Julie CapuletNew York Billionairesseries. In this Grumpy/Sunshine, Fake Date, Age Gap, Steamy Romance, the interconnected Standalone has us following oldest Maddox brother Alexander ‘Alex’ J.B. Maddox IV and FMCIvy ‘Ives’ Laine through the telling of their dual POVs.
If insta-attraction, medium-fast burn, steamy romance is your forte, then look no further since author Julie Capulet delivered with this bookBillionaire Grump.
Ivy and Alexander took you on quite a jam packed adventure of ooey gooey, cute and sweet, yet red-hot, passionate, fiery romance. From all the affection, adoration and devotion shared between the two, particularly from Alexander’s side, was it any surprise that they were meant to be endgame. Even more so when it came to seeing the continuous highs of all the OTT (at times in a good way of course) indulgence Alexander granted towards Ivy within certain events and situations. Then again it was to be expected, considering the hurdles that came their way causing some bumps along the way in their journey together. Having Alexander doing whatever he could to come out on top for Ivy.
The whole way through Ivy and Alexander had me rooting for them, whilst the hopeless romantic in me fell for Alexander hard and fast in the swoon-ness he delivered with his treatment towards Ivy in everything he did for her.
Author Julie Capulet truly came through with this easy going and effortlessly flowing read, that made for a real page turner. Every page flip not only contributed to a well written narrative, showcasing development within the mix that came from seeing entertainment, laughter, drama, romance and a whole heck load of steam. As well as subplots that involved the secondary characters, adding even more laughter given certain scenes. But also to great character development, showing depth and growth within Ivy and Alexander as the story progressed, made known through inner monologues within their POV chapters.
My only wish would’ve been for the story to be a little longer. Not only because of how enjoyable it truly was. But it could’ve allowed for there to be further exploration into Ivy and Alex’s relationship, paving the way for a more deeper growth between them to be showcased. As well as allowing the Surprise Pregnancy trope to actually take place within the story as opposed to in the epilogue. Something that was unexpected since upon reading the blurb, it made you think that it would happen within the actual narrative. Especially when you took into account the many mentioning of it throughout.
A job well done to author Julie Capulet, she definitely madeBillionaire Grumpworth the read having thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, cute, fluffy yet sizzling love story journey of Ivy and Alexander very much so. And that bonus epilogue was the icing on top of the cake.

Boyfriend of the Hourfrom author Nicole French is an Age Gap, Grumpy/Sunshine, He Falls First, Fake Relationship Romance. This Standalone is3.5 ⭐️
Boyfriend of the Hourfrom author Nicole French is an Age Gap, Grumpy/Sunshine, He Falls First, Fake Relationship Romance. This Standalone is told in 1st Person through Giovanna ‘Joni’ ZolaPOV and 3rd Person for Nathaniel ‘Nathan’ Delano Hunt.
The storyline that followed Joni and Nathan’s journey was not a typical romance, mainly due to all the narrative had to divulge considering everything going on and explored. From diving into the in-depth development surrounding Joni, courtesy of her POV chapters that included her inner monologue, further adding to the details of the story. As well as Nathan too, however mostly through Joni’s eyes, given his chapters were only a few and told through 3rd person. It led to author Nicole taking us on a deeper and established ride than could be expected. With the inclusion of mental health and disorders, given what we learn about Joni and Nathan as the story developed and progressed, it played into showcasing an even more in-depth look into Joni and Nathan somewhat, the unfolding before our very eyes. The length of the book had author Nicole including as much detail as can be, unravelling layers, showing the nitty, grittiness of not only the characters, but how it played into their everyday lives as well as the relationship formed between the two, considering the bumps and hurdles they had to navigate through alone the way. On top of the ones of the secondary characters that came in the form of Joni and Nathan’s friends and family.
Ultimately it made for an overall narrative that had a lot to give and take in. Especially when it came to the individual characters of Joni and Nathan, who had a lot to tell and explore through. Given the very detailed development showcased throughout the journey of them and their story.
Whilst the book on a whole was a decent read and had its moments, unfortunately it wasn’t enough to ignore the issues the story had for me. The length of the book was a little too long for my liking, which in part was due to the many subplots going on behind the scenes. This not only caused the prolonging of the overall storyline with being unnecessarily longer than need it be. But would take away the focus from Joni and NathanIMO.
When it came to the pace of the story, it may have just been me, but it did feel a little too slow at times, as if you were at a standstill with no movement. This didn’t help with the subplots, since that tended to put a break on any progress occurring between Joni and Nathan.
My other issue was the lack of perspective through Nathan’s eyes. Considering the length of the book, there should’ve been more chapters through Nathan’sPOV and that too in 1st person, allowing for first hand development of his character as opposed to through Joni’s eyes.
In the end,Boyfriend of the Hourby Nicole French made for a decent read, having mostly enjoyed seeing Joni and Nathan’s relationship flourish within the moments shared between the two. And so for that a job well done to author Nicole French.

Dead of Summeris author A.J. Merlin’s newest release. This Standalone follows the story of Summer Walsh and Kayde Lane, despite only being told soDead of Summeris author A.J. Merlin’s newest release. This Standalone follows the story of Summer Walsh and Kayde Lane, despite only being told solely through Summer’sPOV.
Although the premise is what caught my eye after reading the blurb, which had me intrigued and very interested. However what was delivered in the end was unexpected to say the least, leaving me with mixed feelings.
Seeing the interactions between Summer and Kayde made for moments that were definitely interesting to say the least. Whether that be from seeing and hearing Summer’s turmoil in regards to Kayde and her feelings towards him, which was always made known in her inner monologue. Or seeing Kayde control Summer and convince her to take part in his games. It’s what sometimes made for entertainment somewhat. As well as major Spicy steam, every interaction getting HOTTER and FIERY resulting in fire alarms going off, metaphorically of course. These ended up being the pros that kept me reading until the very end.
There was also the surprise twists that author A.J. threw in, which ended up being somewhat unexpected to say the least. Especially with how it came about.
And can't forget there was also the secondary characters in the form of Melody and Gray, who not only added to the enjoyment factor. But had me hoping they get their own books, since they intrigued me with wanting to know their individual stories and where it will take them.
However despite the pros, unfortunately there were a few too many cons that caused me to struggle with the story to the point of even being close to making it my first DNF book.
One of my biggest issues came from the length of the book, in all honesty it did not have to be as long as it was. Had it been cut down, the story still would’ve read the same IMO. And that’s mostly because of all the repetition, for a good 60% it just seemed to be the same thing over and over again. Not only seeing the same thing occur between Summer and Kayde with their interaction, but hearing the same thoughts over again. The repetitiveness caused my attention wane a lot, especially with feeling like the story was going around in circles as opposed to showing any progress in moving forward.
Another issue came from the confusion behind the narrative. Had it not been Summer and Kayde being the connection to link the two plots together, it would’ve felt like you were reading two different stories because that’s how it came across for me. This caused me to feel a little given the broken, disjointed-ness, but also the lacking of an even flow IMO.
The other big issue came from this book not feeling like a horror/dark story. Especially when you compare it to some of the other books of similar tropes author A.J. has written. The blurb may indicated it as so, but what was delivered didn’t match it IMO leaving me disappointed having expected so much more and darker in terms of the horror and darkness.
Dead of Summerby A.J. Merlin ended up being a decent read. Considering it did have me liking some parts to it, pushing me to read all the way through.

Breeding Cinderellais the debut release of new to me author Everly Love. Book one inKnocking up the Princessseries follows Elizabeth ‘Ellie’ Baxter and PrinceBenedict through their dual POV in a super hot and spicy, twisted Fairytale retelling ofCinderella.
ConsideringBreeding Cinderellais a novella, author Everly Love did a good job in delivering a pleasant read with this adult version fairytale retelling. Given the fast pace movement of the storyline from getting to know about Ellie and her life that included her evil stepmother MadameBianca and stepsisters Riley and Miley, as well as PrinceBenedict and his life. To their first meeting that would eventually lead to a bunch of chaos and drama to follow, resulting in the narrative being quite the rollercoaster ride adventure for the two. Always moving swiftly along, never allowing for a dull moment with every page turn having you constantly reading on, ultimately making it a quick read.
It needs to be known when it came to the heat level, author Everly delivered in giving you dirty talk accompanied by burning red-hot, sizzling spice that was steamy AF, considering the metaphorical fire alarms that were going off between Ellie and PrinceBenedict.
WithBreeding Cinderellabeing a short read, author Everly Love did a good job with having enjoyed the narrative that delivered a beginning, middle and end that was both a spicy and entertaining read to me. It can be said after this book, Everly has me looking forward for more to come from herKnocking up the Princessseries.

Wicked Scandalthe second interconnected Standalone in author Rachel Leigh’sMisfitsseries ended up being an unexpected story to me. When it comWicked Scandalthe second interconnected Standalone in author Rachel Leigh’sMisfitsseries ended up being an unexpected story to me. When it comes to Reverse Age-Gap, it's usually a trope that has me steering clear of it with not being the biggest fan. But in Wilder and Catherine’s case, the story ended up being worth the read IMO.
With the narrative's development keeping an ongoing flow, it not only kept the story moving forward in a prompt and timed manner. But also progressing onwards steadily, paving the way for every page turn to be continuous, whilst falling further into the unfolding of Wilder and Catherine's story. It's ultimately what kept you reading on with each page flip.
As for the character development, there was much to learn and take in when it came to Wilder and Catherine as individuals. More so within their POV chapters that pulled back their layers, allowing for you to get a real feel for them and their personality. Particularly from their inner monologue that opened them up even further. As well as within the development of their relationship taking them from Student/Teacher to lovers, paving way for some Fiery Spice within the passionate, yet naughty moments Wilder and Catherine shared together.
My main problem was there did not seem to be enough detail presented within the exploration of Wilder and Catherine’s relationship. And what didn't help was what was shown felt a little too rushed through for my liking, taking away from playing out their journey a little more thoroughly. In my opinion, it would’ve been nice to see it being explored and further developed with a deeper in-depth look. Especially given Catherine's current predicament with being married, so the Taboo and Reverse Age-Gap element would've had you expecting more exploration.
In the end,Wicked Scandalstill ended up being a pleasantly enjoyable read when it came to following the emotional journey that was Wilder and Catherine's story. A job well done for Rachel Leigh, who has me excited to read more fromMisfitsseries.

Butterflyis my first read from new to me author Jo Brenner. In this Enemies to Lovers, Dark Bully, College Sports, Forbidden Romance, we are3.5 ⭐️
Butterflyis my first read from new to me author Jo Brenner. In this Enemies to Lovers, Dark Bully, College Sports, Forbidden Romance, we are treated to the story of Leslie Berger and Mason ‘Mace’ Calloway through the telling of their dual POVs.
Although the synopsis is what caught my attention and had me intrigued, the tropes is what had me doubling down in wanting to readButterflysince it shared tropes from my usual reads. Surprisingly the narrative had you moving fairly quickly through Leslie and Mace’s story, which was definitely a plus in my book. The fact that it didn’t feel like the story was being dragged out with an unnecessary slow pace, given that each and every page had you turning it with ease allowing you to forge on made it more of a plus IMO.
The story did have its moments of entertainment, particularly in the beginning where you saw the bully and enemies trope come out and play, given the hatred between Leslie and Mace. This resulted in some pushing, pulling with their back and forth between each other from the fighting/attacking of one another. Ultimately having me hooked and reading on to see where it would lead to for the two.
There were other elements that not only helped with advancing the story onwards. But what kept me going. Whether it be the drama that Mace caused for Leslie through the results of his actions. As well as from outside persons that bought out about OW drama. Or seeing how the two navigated their lives individually and together given their chaotic relationship, which had you seeing them venturing through their fair shares of highs and lows and ups and downs. Making for an interesting read overall.
Considering this was an Enemies to Lovers, Bully trope, it surprised me how little was shown of this IMO. Yes there were a few moments here and there a little further down the storyline, other than the beginning. But with the insta-lust trope overshadowing, the results ended up being the enemies and bully element fully taking place early on to then end at 20%, which IMO was not enough since it was one of the main tropes. Plus it would’ve been nice it play out more, allowing it in part to help make their relationship more believable in going from Enemies to Lovers.
There was the case of the constant use of daddy, which ended up being a major turn off for me. Yes there may have been mention of some daddy issues, but the way the phrase was actually bought about seemed random and to me didn’t work or really fit in. Plus it was just overall severely cringey. In all honesty it was off-putting and highly annoying the unnecessary amount of times the phrase was used. Plus it didn’t help that they were barely college students, being newly freshman. Something that was surprising to learn given their behaviour and attitude had me assuming they were high schoolers. The immaturity level they displayed made it even more so that way, at least to me.
In the end, while the few issues mentioned above brought the story down for me. That's not to say author Jo Brenner didn't still do a good job, particularly with the great beginning that madeButterflya good read.

Through the telling of dual perspective, we follow the sThe Contractbook one inClub Vseries is my first read by new to me author Eva Haining. Through the telling of dual perspective, we follow the story of once High School SweetheartsNadia ‘Naddie/Nad’ Sullivan and Dalton Rutherford in what is a Second Chance, Forced Proximity, Dom/Sub Romance.
The characters Naddie and Dalton pulled me in from the get go with their story, there was just something about them and their love story that had you rooting hard for them, despite this being a Second Chance Romance for the two. Then again how could you not, given each and every moment between Naddie and Dalton that was showcased by author Eva proved the bond they shared along with their emotional connection and physical touch never extinguished. Even despite been broken apart, with time and distance having passed them by for many years, the flame still flickered.
The storyline ofThe Contracttruly was an emotional charged whirlwind of a ride to say the least, so much so that you couldn’t help but continue turning each and every page to read more. From the very real longing in the emotions that author Eva wrung out from both Naddie and Dalton individually and simultaneously, it was no wonder it had you deep in the feels. Especially when it came to the emotional aspect of their love, proving they were soulmates. Author Eva ensured it was front and center in their inner monologue within their individual POV. Seeing the love they once shared bloom all over again, whilst being expressed through the exploration of everything little sentiment they felt and communicated towards one another. As well as when it came to the physical that had temperatures off the charts in every moment shared between the two. Each scene between the two seemed to always get kicked up a notch, only to be taken into high gear with how spicy and fiery it truly was.
The narrative did bring in other elements, some of which made it known that this wasn’t necessarily a typical Second Chance Romance like you would expect. Given the BDSM and Dom/Sub aspect Naddie and Dalton ventured and explored thoroughly through, bringing in some very detailed spiciness as mentioned above. Plus there was also the inclusion of some twists and turns that came about for Naddie and Dalton, leading to moments of drama, which added more dimension to the overall storyline, knowing they had their work cut out for them.
My only critique would have to be was it could've been nice to maybe see the inclusion of flashback scenes from Naddie and Dalton's past when they were younger, showcasing them and their love for one another back then. Allowing more detail into their love story with seeing and feeling it rather than hearing the two mention it.
WithThe Contractbeing my first read from author Eva Haining, she did a great job. Not only was it an enjoyable read overall from the development of the story alongside the characters of Naddie and Dalton. But also from the way it pulled on my heartstrings from the emotions express throughout. After this it has me looking forward to wanting to read more fromClub Vseries and the author Eva too.

Never Have I Everis a Second Chance, Enemies to Lovers, Rockstar Romance by S.L. Scott. This Standalone has us following the story of personal chef Poppy Stanfield and rockstar Laird Faris of Faris Wheel through their dual point of views.
Although the blurb is what caught my eye, knowing it was a Rockstar romance which is a favourite trope of mine. The storyline that was delivered ended up surprising me from not being what it had me expecting. The fact it didn’t focus heavily on the Rockstar trope allowed more of the spotlight to focus on the characters of Poppy and Laird with getting to know individually as well as together given the forced proximity they find themselves in. As well as seeing their relationship flourish over a long period of time going from Strangers to Enemies to Friends to Lovers, paving the way for a genuine and authentic love story. Especially seeing as it was through a Second Chance given their past, allowing Poppy and Laird's chemistry to shine through loud and clear.
The book was packed with all the emotions, whether that be the high of the highs that came from all the sweet, cute, adorable, heartwarming, romantic and loving moments shared between Poppy and Laird. Especially on Laird’s side, given the hard battle it was fighting to make Poppy see they were meant to be and deserved a second chance. Or the lows of the low from the sadness, pain, heartache and grief given the situation they found themselves in. Once again mainly on Laird’s part given his memory of the past.
Author S.L. Scott did a good job in making sure the emotions packed hit you hard, having you feel the emotions alongside Poppy and Laird given the in-depth exploration presented from the characters within their POV chapters. Ultimately allowing you to get a real feel for what they were experiencing and enduring in the situations and events they faced throughout leading to some ups and downs.
Even though the beginning ofNever Have I Everdid start off well for me, the quick pace of movement having me holding on with every page turn. However somewhere down the road, the storyline started to slow down and become a little too drawn out IMO, almost as if there was no movement or progress to be had. Even with it being a Slow Burn of sorts, at least until after the beginning, it seemed to become even more slower than a slow burn, more of a snail pace slow burn, dragging on with not much excitement or pizazz to be had for my liking. Although the very few kicks that came in along the way helped in giving a jumpstart that was needed to help me continue to forge ahead, particularly the unexpected twist thrown in that gave the hard push needed to continue moving forward regardless. Though to be fair it did seem out of place the way it just suddenly dropped out of nowhere into the middle unexpectedly IMO.
All in all, althoughNever Have I Everby S.L. Scott may have not been my cup of tea. Nonetheless it still ended up making for a decent read in the end.

Never Say Neveris author Jennifer Sucevic latest release fromWestern Wildcats Hockeyseries. Through Colby McNichols and Britt’s dual POV, we follow their narrative in this Accidental Marriage, Hockey Romance story.
Whilst Colby and Britt’s story may have had you knowing what to expect from reading the blurb. However there was more to it that surprised me and was unexpected to say the least with what author Jennifer delivered.
When it came to the relationship development between Colby and Britt, it was definitely entertaining to follow along. Considering how complete opposites Colby and Britt were, it’s what made for fun times that had you LOL’ing. And with the witty banter that had the two constantly going back and forth with the pushing and pulling, how could it not make for funny moments. Especially seeing the cocky and arrogant Colby struggle with having to work so hard at trying to attain Britt, when usually he is always able to win the ladies over. The wakeup call he received from Britt time and time again was hilarious, yet the fact that he still didn’t give up and stop showed true dedication on his part in a way.
Within the story development, sure it had the usual building of the relationship, whilst bringing in some drama with the some suspense surround it. However what wasn’t expected to me at least was the mysteriousness of the secrets that were being alluded too. Resulting in shocking revelations to come to light. And for that props to author Jennifer, it definitely surprised me to say the least having not expected it at all. It added to the narrative in not being as predictable as you would’ve thought, especially if you read the blurb thinking you knew what to expect.
Whilst Colby and Britt had me excited for their story, particularly when it came to one of the subplots that made up the overall narrative. However there were times within where it felt a little bit of a let down from falling short. Considering what was made known in the blurb ofNever Say Neversurrounding the Accidental Marriage trope, it had me expecting a lot more excitement from the drama that would ensue for Colby and Britt because of it. And yet that didn’t seem to be the case, which left me somewhat disappointed. From the lead up that took quite awhile to get there, it made the play out of the scene and the aftermath a little anticlimactic IMO, lacking the pizazz it had me anticipating.
There was the case of the ending which felt a little too rushed for my liking. Given the long build up, it had me expecting the climax to be bigger on many different levels and accounts. As opposed to unfortunately being anticlimactic too from the tameness of the conflict and the major drama it should’ve bought about as well IMO. Instead it was over in the blink of an eye. In my honest opinion it would’ve been much preferred if the build up to the third act would’ve started out earlier so it could play out more allowing for further development so it wasn’t rushed straight through to an HEA.
All in all, Colby and Britt’s storyNever Say Neverstill made for a pleasant read, despite the issues pointed out. Plus with the bonus epilogues author Jennifer Sucevic included, it made for the perfectly HEA with seeing the couple in the future.

Hide Away With Youby Judy Corry is her newest Contemporary Romance Standalone and book one fromKings of Eden Fallsseries. In this Forbidden, Brother’s Best Friend, Second Chance Romance, we navigate within the story of Addison ‘Addie’ Michaels and Evan Rodgers through the telling of their dual perspective.
The synopsis is what caught my eye and had me wanting to read it, especially since it seemed different from what author Judy Corry had me expecting, having read her other work.
There were definitely pros and cons when it came toHide Away With You. In the case of the pros, the delivery of the storyline being full of intrigue and mystery is what had you turning each and every single page in wonder to see just where the story Addie and Evan would lead you. From the ups and downs that came from many secrets being kept and lies being told, given the deceit, which was alluded to at first, you couldn’t help but be suspicious and curious simultaneously. Whilst waiting in anticipation to see the unfolding of it all. Even more so due to the underlying suspense that continued to build, causing major tension and angsty-ness to rise, resulting in navigating through an emotional whirlwind, particularly in Addie's case considering all that she faced, endured and suffered throughout. But it didn’t end there, with drama developing to then unfold into surprising twists and turns resulting in some shocking revelations that came to light helping to fill in the gaps that came from the questions arising as the story progressed. Making it no wonder when some of it caught me off guard, having not expected at all. Which is why to say Addie and Evan’s story was definitely a whirlwind adventurous rollercoaster ride is an understatement, especially given the highs and lows from the rocky terrain they encountered.
With that said, unfortunately there were some shortcomings to be had IMO where the story just fell apart for me. Maybe this was just me but sometimes Addie and Evan had me forgetting they were young adults with being in their early to mid 20s. And with the clean romance, it made it feel even more like they were teenagers. Which brings me to thinking author Judy could’ve pushed the envelope a little more with the romance spice level. Given how much she had already done so in what was showcased between Addie and Evan, she could’ve added more as it would’ve suited their age more better. Had they been younger then it would’ve better suited their characters IMO. But since they were adults it didn’t work well or suit them IMO, especially seeing as she would abruptly cut it off between them.
When it came closer towards the end, you couldn't help but feel that it was completely rushed with how quickly author Judy made the end come together for Addie and Evan. All the time spent on setting up the storyline, which had tendencies of being too wordy and long from all the description and explaining, some of which was reiterated a few too many times IMO could’ve been shorten to pave way for the last third of the narrative to play out in more depth resulting in a fulfilling well developed ending IMO. The end that was delivered for Addie and Evan’s end was just too fast and unbelievable, particularly in a certain part that came from Evan's side of things.
In the end, despite my issues,Hide Away With Youwas most definitely still a good read. Given the very intriguing storyline that Judy Corry delivered with Addie and Evan’s story, she had me enjoying it overall.

The Thug and His Dollby Bea Paige is the newest release from her brand new seriesPrincetown Heirs. A Standalone that follows Hendrix ‘Drix’ Hammer and Amelia ‘Lia’ Pearson in a Single Mom, Contemporary Romance, has the story told through the navigation of dual POVs.
A Slow Burn, Angsty Romance that paved the way for quite an emotional journey to say the least. Although they started off as strangers, the blossoming friendship that began to bloom, was it any wonder feelings eventually played a part in Drix and Lia’s relationship the more they progressed forward together. The exploration of different emotions faced by the two helped play into their story even more.
Even with some drama that made for some tension filled moments, the path still made for moments of a sweet and deeply heartfelt journey to follow along with at times. At least when it came to the times shared between Drix and Lia, whether it be within their growing friendship or the relation that had them falling for one another. It’s where author Bea ensured depth was presented with adding to the overall narrative. The fact that we were able to see the unravelling of Drix and Lia’s layers, allowed for their characters to be opened up giving more of a detailed character development as time went on. Resulting in connecting with them as characters, since we were able to get a real feel for both of them from all that was divulged along the way.
WhilstThe Thug and His Dollwas a good read having liked it. However there were a few things that couldn't be ignored on my part. For instance the slow pace of the narrative had me wishing that wasn’t the case. Plus with the lack of excitement, it didn't really help, particularly because the pizazz just wasn't there to give it the oomph that would've kept me on my toes. At least not until the conflict came, but unfortunately that didn't occur until much later being closer towards the end. And with the lack of major waves, it made for a somewhat steady flow pace since the bumps that were there were very minimal and not so effective in having you hyped up. At least not for me. There was also the case of the ending being predictable and a little rushed IMO, it just ended up being a let down IMO since it fell short for me. Even more so considering how long it took to even get to that moment in the first place.
In the end, Drix and Lia’s story was still a decent read, having me glad to have read it. Especially because of the sneak peeks into the secondary characters, which for me was Daisy and Dalton, whose story author Bea Paige has me excited for. From what we learnt inThe Thug and His Dollabout them, something tells me their storyThe Rogue and His Flower, book two inPrincetown Heirsseries is definitely going to lead to quite an adventurous journey. So expect me to be ready and waiting for its release.

Talk about a real dark, depraved, twisted mindf*ck?! Did it have me questioning my mindset and sanity from being obsessed, particularly with the deviant that was Damien Webb? Yes, of course. But then again authors Rachel Jonas & Nikki Thorne made Devotion well worth it, having me being all for it and him, resulting in being hook, line and sinker!
4.5/5 ⭐️
The blurb toDevotion, book one inThe Widowmaker Duetis what caught my eye, knowing that there was no way in heck this book could be missed. And boy did it have me right in thinking that because what authors Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne delivered in part one of Layla and Damien’s story was absolutely incredible.
The story may have started off a little slow in the very beginning, but don’t be fooled into thinking it stayed that way because that was definitely not the case.
The journey in which the narrative ofDevotiontook you through felt like an enigma wrapped in a mystery taking you through a labyrinth and that to partially blindfolded. It was quite the ride in having you entranced not only from the ups, downs and highs and lows, some of which came from the emotional whirlwind. And with majority of page turns resulting in something being alluded to, whether a secret or a mystery. Rachel always had you thinking from questions being raised along the way as to what could it be or what could it mean? Does it involve Layla? Does it connect to Damien? Where does it all lead to? When you took into consideration the twists and turns that paved the way to secrets, lies and deceit at play within this ever suspenseful building journey. The more questions continued to evolve, venturing you further and deeper into Layla and Damien’s story as it developed along. All while bringing you slowly yet surely to the edge of your seat in anticipation, having you biting your nails from the major angsty-ness delivered given what author Rachel took you through. Even more so when some revelations came to light from what was divulged, causing your hunger to grow for more.
With two complete opposites in characters, Layla Bennett a forensic photographer for the police force, who still is affected by a traumatic event from her childhood. And Damien Webb; a tall, dark and sexy mysterious man with an obsession for Layla. The results was the equivalent of EPIC fireworks display, volcanic eruption, a massive bonfire aflame. Just everything about these two had the story a-buzzing, sparks flying, fire alarms going off, particularly whenever these two were in each other’s presence or would come together. The obsession in reading about these two, whilst watching their chemistry grow from the majorly charged electricity between them was very much real!
“Your friends. Your family. They’d all be in constant danger. Not a single person you’ve ever loved or cared about would be safe from me. Because if I even think someone’s trying to come between us… I’d tear through them without a single fucking thought. Is that honestly what you want?” he taunts. “A monster in your life? One who’d move heaven and hell for you, no matter the cost?”
Even with the toxicity that was the dark, villainous, morally grey, anti-hero Damien, there was no denying the spine-tingling shivers he delivered and the goosebumps he raised in his words and actions. Ultimately having you question your sanity for falling for him, like he did for me.
This book was it for me, the way it had me intrigued from the blurb, then to be riveted by the characters. And ultimately compellingly transfixed by the narrative that resulted in being absolutely alluring having fallen down the rabbit hole to Layla and Damien’s story. So for that it needs to said, a job well done to Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne for the chefs kiss that was the dark and twisted, suspenseful, mystery thrillerDevotion. Book 2 ofThe Widowmaker Duet,Revelationcould not come fast enough, especially with that cliffhanger that has me dying in agony from the anticipation of its arrival!

Author Lisa Suzanne is here delivering the conclusion toVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries with the finale to Danny and Alexis’s story inGrand SlamAuthor Lisa Suzanne is here delivering the conclusion toVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries with the finale to Danny and Alexis’s story inGrand Slam. Given the ending to book 4Bases Loaded, book 5 has us jumping right back in Danny and Alexis’s final journey with no time having past in between.
Having ridden through a whirlwind adventure together throughout the series, there was still more to come, despite this being the finale. With everything finally coming to a head for Danny and Alexis. It was no surprise that the chaotic-ness that was Danny and Alexis’s life, on top of the one they were building together within their relationship made for somewhat of a bumpy ride in the conclusion. With drama that bought about major tension, especially surrounding the growing suspense, given all the secrets, lies and deceit that involved and revolved around the secondary characters in the form of so called family and friends, as well as ups and downs, some in the form of unexpected twists. Author Lisa just kept on giving within the storyline from all that was said and done.
Grand Slamdelivered in not only finally divulging all the answers to the many questions raised throughout the series. With all finally being laid out on the table in front of our eyes. Whilst revelations brought some surprising and some to be expected information to light for Danny and Alexis, considering what they learn from the twists that were thrown in, it resulted in tying all the loose ends that had been left hanging until now.
My only critique would be what happened between Alexis and her dad. It would’ve been nicer to see more development between them, not only because it seemed a little rushed IMO with how it all came together for them. But also it could’ve made for giving Alexis’s characters the moment to showcase her growth within their relationship, taking the reins and saying what really needed to be said. Mostly because there hardly seemed to be any change from her within their relation, especially given how easily she gave in and fixed it between them.
In the endGrand Slammade for a pleasant read with author Lisa Suzanne not only tying up all the loose ends, but closing the chapter on Danny and Alexis’s story once and for all with the delivery of HEA worthy of the couple. Particularly from the bonus epilogue. All the whilst creating an overall adventurous ride to Danny and Alexis’s life and relationship throughoutVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries, ultimately resulting in a fun, entertaining, sweet and emotional time.

Danny and Alexis are back with the penultimate book from Lisa Suzanne’sVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries. Book 4Bases Loadedcontinues from right Danny and Alexis are back with the penultimate book from Lisa Suzanne’sVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries. Book 4Bases Loadedcontinues from right off of the cliffhanger of book 3On Deck.
With a combination of a runaway bride, a secret boyfriend, a getaway car and an undisclosed location, was it any surprise that the narrative ofBases Loadedled you upon a whirlwind adventurous ride.
Following Danny and Alexis on their adventure may have been tension filled. The unknowing of how long it would last, whether they would get caught out before they expected from all that they left behind catching up to them. And more drama ensuing from what was yet to still be dealt with. In Danny’s case his dad and blackmailing. However simultaneously their adventure brought on moments of joy, laughter, love, happiness and passion, if the steamy heat was anything to go by. It was sweet, cute and romantic, following along in those times shared between Danny and Alexis in their relationship, seeing it flourish even more than ever, their connection growing stronger bringing them closer together than can be. Ultimately resulting in a lot of moments that had you swooning from the lovey dovey gushy-ness.
It was suspenseful building majority of the way through, always having you on the edge of your seat from not knowing what to expect next with Danny and Alexis in each page turn. Add to that the major angsty-ness that came about from the many challenges that the couple seemed to face and attempted to overcome. But with the threats to their relationship, it was no wonder it led to a sense of foreboding doom that seemed to be on the horizon for the couple, bringing forth some intensity.
Whilst the ending ofBases Loadedmay have been tame in comparison to the previous cliffhangers. Nonetheless it still left you buzzing from leaving you waiting in anticipation for what will be for Danny and Alexis in the final conclusion to Lisa Suzanne’sVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries with the finaleGram Slam.

Picking up from the cliffy of book 2Caught Looking, author Lisa Suzanne has jumping right back into Danny and Alexis’s ongoing story with book 3On DeckfromVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries.
It was only a matter of time before the bubble Danny and Alexis were living in would burst. AndOn Deckensured that! With all the secret, lies, deceit with sneaking around was it any surprise the narrative would have drama ensuing and that too from some conflict that was to be had. Whether it be from family members or outsiders it was there bringing tensions to a high given the turmoil of the situations for both Danny and Alexis. Ultimately resulting in putting them through their paces given what they faced and had to deal with, particularly in the decision making needed to be made in regards to not only their personal individual lives. But also within their relationship considering the bumps that came along the way leading to some ups and downs. Even more so from the surprising twists and turns that came into play, some of which were totally out of left field, in which author Lisa had you caught completely off guard by.
Despite feeling sorry for Alexis at times, it can't be denied that she had me disliking her too at times throughout given her selfishness with not really taking Danny and his feelings into perspective in the situation and where they stood. She also frustrated me too. The fact that despite being a grown woman, how she could still be blind to the manipulation and emotional blackmail by her father is beyond me. Even when questioning it, how she chose to be ignorant and sweep it under for silly reasons was mind blowing to me. It honestly had me wanting to shake her to see sense, more so knowing that even with others pointing it out, she still chose to push it aside.
The rollercoaster ride that author Lisa Suzanne delivered withOn Deckhad me hooked, more so than any of the previous books from theVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries in comparison. From the ongoing narrative development, alongside the further exploration within Danny and Alexis’s characters that bought about some very steamy moments, whilst building up the suspense from ongoing drama and turmoil. This story packed a fulfilling ongoing storyline in what turned out to be a real page turner. Which is why it was no surprise that Lisa Suzanne had you falling in from the enjoyment with continuing to follow Danny and Alexis’s ongoing journey. And with that cliffhanger, book 4Bases Loadedcould not come fast enough.

Danny and Alexis’s story continues in book 2Caught Looking, picking right from the cliffhanger author Lisa Suzanne left us hanging on in book oneDanny and Alexis’s story continues in book 2Caught Looking, picking right from the cliffhanger author Lisa Suzanne left us hanging on in book oneScoring PositionfromVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries.
The start of the book may have had Danny and Alexis at a crossroad, considering the major obstacle that came in the form of Alexis accepting Brook’s proposal putting a wrench in their plans of building a relationship. However with some figuring out from talking and major convincing on Alexis’s part, given Danny’s stance on it all, we see the two come to a decision of continuing to move forward, but in continued secrecy.
Although there was much to be said and told in this book given the drama and the ongoing of secret and lies being kept and told. The major element withCaught Lookingcame from focusing on the continuation of Danny and Alexis’s blossoming relationship, especially the steaminess of it, which just kept on giving. Every moment shared between them had the fires aflame bringing Lustful, Red-Hot, Sizzling, Fiery Spice. Like animals in the heat they could not get enough of each other, constantly getting down and dirty. Proving their physical chemistry was very much alive and electric. As well as their emotional one too, knowing their feelings for one another brought out their deep dedication to one another, wanting to constantly be with each other and share meaningful moments that allowed them to open up to one another like no other in whatever time together they could have. The showcasing of this made for sweet and heartwarming moments between Danny and Alexis, having you rooting for them even more. Then again how could you not when they made such a cute couple, who got each other so well, despite having known each other for a short time. Being able to be their real selves with one another proved it too.
Whilst Alexis did have me feeling sorry for her at times, due to her predicament from all that she was going through that seemed to be out of her control. At the same time this book had me having my fair share of annoyance and dislike towards her too. The way Alexis came across and acted at times in regards to their situation had her seem a little self centred and selfish. Putting her needs first without giving any real thought to Danny's, despite knowing his stance on their situation and the morals he held. And for that, it just didn’t sit right with me, hence the dislike at times.
Caught Lookingended on a cliffhanger which actually gave me a sense of deja vu surprisingly, due to the similarity shared that took me back to Cooper and Gabby’s story fromVegas Heat: Expansion Team. But nonetheless author Lisa Suzanne still has me hanging on, waiting to see what will happen next for our Bad Boy Baseball player Danny and Pop star Princess Alexis in the next bookOn Deck.Because something tells me that sh*t is about to hit the fan with it about to go downhill for the couple.
