Billionaire Grumpis book two in author Julie CapuletNew York Billionairesseries. In this Grumpy/Sunshine, Fake Date, Age Gap, Steamy Romance, the interconnected Standalone has us following oldest Maddox brother Alexander ‘Alex’ J.B. Maddox IV and FMCIvy ‘Ives’ Laine through the telling of their dual POVs.
If insta-attraction, medium-fast burn, steamy romance is your forte, then look no further since author Julie Capulet delivered with this bookBillionaire Grump.
Ivy and Alexander took you on quite a jam packed adventure of ooey gooey, cute and sweet, yet red-hot, passionate, fiery romance. From all the affection, adoration and devotion shared between the two, particularly from Alexander’s side, was it any surprise that they were meant to be endgame. Even more so when it came to seeing the continuous highs of all the OTT (at times in a good way of course) indulgence Alexander granted towards Ivy within certain events and situations. Then again it was to be expected, considering the hurdles that came their way causing some bumps along the way in their journey together. Having Alexander doing whatever he could to come out on top for Ivy.
The whole way through Ivy and Alexander had me rooting for them, whilst the hopeless romantic in me fell for Alexander hard and fast in the swoon-ness he delivered with his treatment towards Ivy in everything he did for her.
Author Julie Capulet truly came through with this easy going and effortlessly flowing read, that made for a real page turner. Every page flip not only contributed to a well written narrative, showcasing development within the mix that came from seeing entertainment, laughter, drama, romance and a whole heck load of steam. As well as subplots that involved the secondary characters, adding even more laughter given certain scenes. But also to great character development, showing depth and growth within Ivy and Alexander as the story progressed, made known through inner monologues within their POV chapters.
My only wish would’ve been for the story to be a little longer. Not only because of how enjoyable it truly was. But it could’ve allowed for there to be further exploration into Ivy and Alex’s relationship, paving the way for a more deeper growth between them to be showcased. As well as allowing the Surprise Pregnancy trope to actually take place within the story as opposed to in the epilogue. Something that was unexpected since upon reading the blurb, it made you think that it would happen within the actual narrative. Especially when you took into account the many mentioning of it throughout.
A job well done to author Julie Capulet, she definitely madeBillionaire Grumpworth the read having thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, cute, fluffy yet sizzling love story journey of Ivy and Alexander very much so. And that bonus epilogue was the icing on top of the cake.
