I first read this book when it came out in the Flirting with Darkness anthology and adored the beautifully romantic slow burn between Lilith, a quiet, socially awkward scientist and Vale, a reclusive vampire general. Set in the same world as the Crowns of Nyaxia series, this book is a must-read!

They had so much personality and potential for angst, I wish they had their own full-length book!

Larkin played in the light. I watched from the shadows. I was fucking tired of watching.
You see another side to happy-go-lucky Rhodes and the steadiness and kindness of Larkin. I would highly recommend reading this before going onto book two!
