I really did enjoy this book. Its an easy, short read and was pretty solid throughout the whole thing. I thought the author did a much better job at bI really did enjoy this book. I thought the author did a much better job at balancing a large vocabulary with necessity and found her writing felt much less forced. I also found that this book did a better job with using descriptions as needed versus pages and pages of confusing text. The story left you wondering what would happen and lead me to already purchase book 3. Looking forward to seeing how this story ends....more

It had moments of brilliance and moments where I just rolled my eyes. I didn't mind the writing style, but there were times when the large vocabulary felt forced and unnatural. There was too much energy talk and sometimes I felt like the book was written for yoga enthusiast. The end, though, got me. It was unexpected and brought in characters that intrigue me. I've decided to buy the second book, which says something. I'm hoping now that all the foundation has been laid, the story can focus less on the description of the tri-realms and more on the character and plot development....more
