Terrible Book Club read this in full. In an episode I listened twice, one of those times I was at work, lord I was almost in TEARS. Find it. its so funny. It's the reason I'm rating it 5 stars for the sound effects and just them cracking jokes and all. (Heres a bit of it dumbed down by a tired mind) Okay so some dude complains to a ghost finder guy 1: "i can't sleep all I hear is grunting and pigs 24/7." Guy 2 (the ghost finder): "no prob come alone to my house, now put on this rubber suit." so 2 men in a closed off room in rubber suits with rainbow glowing wires all on the floor. Kinky. Guy 1: gets on all fours and starts grunting like a pig. Guy 2: damn is that a giant pig in the distance? THE HOG: 👋👁👄👁 Guy 1: *squeals loudly* Guy 2: You a furry or somethin? THE HOG: * getting closer* 👁👄👁 Guy 1: 🐖 *pig life yo* Guy 2: my rainbow wires are getting funky...this is too hard.. f it.. ima shoot u if you don't stop. THE HOG: *HEAVY BREATHING* 👁👄👁
We use Eye of Argon rules to read the entirety of The Hog, complete with backing music and sound effects by Chris. Have your Carnacki bingo cards at the ready!
My favorite Carnacki story I think, certainly the scariest though some of the descriptions of how the circles confused me quite a bit but I'd put that more down to how language has changed over the years rather than poor writing. I also think it's very funny to end the last ever Carnacki story like "yeah so there's probably a war between godlike entities and demonic entities happening on earth but I'm too tired to tell you about it, bye!"
A very weird and confusing book. To me it seemed like it was repeating phrases and pretty much the same wording over and over. Very hard to follow and not very scary.
