Going tit for tat with the man you hate is all fun and games until things get literal…and the jerk sees you naked.
My beach getaway was only supposed to include three things: relaxation, wine, and fun in the sun.
Mack Houston, on the other hand, should have never—ever—been involved.
In no uncertain terms, he’s the bane of my existence. The thorn in my side. The sexy Mr. Good-Time Guy who drives me up the wall and my work archnemesis for the past five years.
He’s the last person I want to get stuck anywhere with—it’s bad enough that I have to see him every day at work—and yet, because of a booking error (or curse of the universe, as I like to call it), I’m stuck in the same vacation rental with him for an entire week.
I’m going to end up in jail. Or worse, I might just give in to the insane urge to find out if his lips are really as kissable as they look.
Many moons ago, a dynamic duo of romance authors teamed up under the pseudonym Max Monroe, and, well, the rest is history...
Max Monroe is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of more than thirty contemporary romance titles. Favorite writing partners and long time friends, Max and Monroe strive to live and write all the fun, sexy swoon so often missing from their Facebook newsfeed. Sarcastic by nature, their two writing souls feel like they’ve found their other half. This is their most favorite adventure thus far.
Best of enemies, best of frenemies, best of friends. Whatever stage we're in, Katy and I are in it together. Forever.
Get you a man who, buys you a new released book by your favorite author you've been meaning to get, has dimples, takes you out repeatedly for lunch/dinner/breakfast after eating your snacks bec he felt bad, has dimples, tends to your wounds and stays w u in the hospital taking care of you, mingles in w ur parents, is flirtatious but in his limits, does well w kids, oh and...DID I MENTION HE HAS DIMPLES???
I logit forgot the feel of reading smthg so light and easy. I've been reading fantasy for the longest time now w no break and that's caused my brain to always keep on thinking ab what's gna come next but while reading romances and rom-coms u always know whats gna come next and yk its gna be good.
I finished this in practically less than a day, the writing style and plot was so easy to read and get through and genuinely very enjoyable.
As for the characters, Mack (the mmc) was js perfect, everything about him js scream dadd- *ahem* husband vibes and he was so hawwwwttt wornwjdhdjm but I feel like Katy (the fmc) was js such a kid throughout and was acting like a tough brat but the ig eventually she got better?
Overall I feel like this was js a perfect read and esp the ending was so cute and perfect and i loved every second of itt!! Totally recommend ✨
And huge thank you to netgally, the publisher and the author for providing me w a digital arc of this cute, amazing and rom-com-y book!!
-----~~~----- this was scutee 🥹🥹 rtc!! ---------- yes, this marks the beginning of my rom-com era 🤭
It was a tad cliché and predictable but was still entertaining.
Katy and Mack, her irritating co-worker, had both made the same mistake of booking the same house for their spring break vacation. The two of them were forced to share the same space, which initially led to a lot of anger and annoyance towards each other. However, as time passed, their feelings towards each other began to change, and their initial animosity turned into a passionate attraction.
Although the story may lack originality, it still manages to capture some cute and funny moments. However, certain parts of the story did feel forced and over the top, detracting from the overall enjoyment. All in all, an okay read.
If you're a fan of forced proximity, grumpy sunshine, and/or enemies-to-lovers, this might be for you.
***Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***
I received this audiobook as an advanced reader copy but it is NOT working for me.
Here are the reasons I cannot continue reading this.
1. The authors' note which recommends wearing "sanitary products" and "sitting on the toilet" because this book will make the reader messy. That is so gross! I just cannot. 🤮
2. The high pitched, bright, and fast-paced narrator's voice for the male main character. He makes the dude sound like a cartoon teenager. And the immaturity of his conversations!? No thank you. This dude is supposed to be 31? Doesn't sound like it.
3. The mean girl humor of everyone in this book right away. No thank you.
---- So, thanks author and publisher for provides free copy, but this is NOT for me.
✔ Enemies to lovers ✔ Forced proximity ✔ Only one bed ✔ Work rivals ✔ Romantic comedy ✔ Sizzling tension ✔ He falls first
"Best Frenemies" by Max Monroe offers an enticing premise that had the potential for greatness, but it falls a bit short, resulting in a three-star review. The story revolves around the unexpected cohabitation of two frenemies on a beach getaway, which promises a blend of 'The Hating Game' and 'The Unhoneymooners.' While the premise was intriguing, the overall execution left me feeling somewhat underwhelmed.
The story is undeniably entertaining, offering a humorous and spicy narrative that keeps you engaged. The protagonists had undeniable chemistry, and their transformation from foes to a vacation fling was swift and fiery. However, this swift transition, though amusing, felt somewhat lacking in depth. The focus on slapstick humor often overshadowed the potential for a more profound emotional connection between the characters.
Furthermore, what left me particularly unsatisfied was the post-fling phase of their relationship. The story primarily emphasizes the physical aspect of their connection, which became repetitive and lacked emotional depth. I wished for a more substantial exploration of their relationship beyond the initial sparks.
Lastly, the audiobook narration by Alexander Cendese was a downside, particularly his portrayal of female characters, which sounded whiny and grating.
"Best Frenemies" is an entertaining read with a promising premise, but it relies heavily on humor and lacked the emotional depth and character development that could have made it exceptional. While it offers a vacation fling that's fun to follow, it left me wanting more in terms of the depth and emotional connection between the characters.
Math and Music teachers at a Manhattan private elementary school. Ever since they met five years ago they kinda hated each other. (Even though they've also been very attracted to each other - obviously!) And now they're accidentally holiday appartment buddies in Florida. Whoopsie.
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN! 🤣

Another super adorable and hilarious and sparky Max Monroe rom-com! If you're weird like I am, you might remember parts of it from a short stoy that was published in an anthology a while back. It made me crazy in the beginning that I didn't know why I remembered bits and pieces! LOL!
I loved the whole beachy holiday vibe in the first half. And then we're back in New York in their normal lives as teachers. Also super adorable and sexy and fun. And the enemies to lovers thingy is always cute and funny. Plus we get lots of Thatch moments!
I just adored this book. Can't wait to read the next one about people we already met!
Again I'm asking myself: How are none of Max Monroe's books streaming their behinds off on Netflix yet?? The world is a weird and sad place!
BEST FRENEMIES was such an adorable + funny + beachy enemies to lovers teacher rom-com! Run to your nearest book dealer for your own Mack - this one is mine!
3.5 ⭐ It was definitely a joy to meet Mack Houston and I have to say I'm pleased that he seems to be... not Thatch. 😂 But I found him to be fun and charming and honestly I couldn't understand why Katy seemed to hate him in the first place. Hence the reason for my 3.5/5... I never could figure out why she hated him. Otherwise... This is a fun, easy read with cute cameos from the beloved OGs.
I really enjoyed this. It was cute, lighthearted, and funny. The “enemies” part is a bit stretched considering why they didn’t like one another, but I feel that way with most contemporary romances. They’re not really enemies, more rivals.
So I really loved Mack. His praise dirty talk was top tier. Had me red facing it at work while listening. 🥵 It’s my weakness.
Katie was adorable. Very put together until Mack bulldozed his way into her rental vacation house and stayed. The drama was light, and I didn’t even mind the third act conflict - it was realistic.
Thanks NetGalley for the audiobook. I had zero issue with the narrators.
This is my second audio book by Max Monroe, and I enjoyed it as much as the last one. These authors are the queens of sexy banter and humor. This author is becoming an auto buy for me. Love the spice, humor and stories. I also loved the hidden Easter eggs from the previous book.
I'm craving a Big Mack! Best Frenemies by Max Monroe was a laugh-out-loud, enemies-to-lovers teacher romance that I absolutely devoured in one sitting. These ladies brought their OG wit and charm that I’m obsessed with and LOVE with Mack and Katy’s romance. Plus, with the infamous Thatcher Kelly showing up in the first chapter, you knew you were in for one hilarious ride. Mack’s charismatic and loveable confidence made him so easy to love, and one great music teacher. However, in the bedroom, he sure knew how to ramp up the delicious dirty talk! Katy’s drive and dedication to her teaching career were admirable, and I couldn’t help but cheer for her when she finally let her hair down and gave in to her desire for Mack! Also, the sexual tension and chemistry between these two is HOT right from the start.
Overall I LOVED this book! If you are a fan of an enemies-to-lovers romance with a hot hunky music teacher, a dedicated math teacher, Calhoun Elementary, spring breaking in Florida, forced proximity, ocean mishaps, birthday surprises, super hot steamy times, spicy repeats, eighteen-hour road trips, Thatcher mother fluffin Kelly, outspoken students, a career day gone wrong, Staten Island Ferry rides, more surprises, and a HEA worth the grand gesture, then you will love Katy and Mack’s story. I always look forward to more from my fave romcom queens, Max Monroe.

WARNING: Due to the hilarious and addictive nature of this book’s content, the following things are not recommended:
Reading on the subway, reading on a first date, reading while you’re in line at the grocery store, reading on your wedding day, reading during the birth of your child, reading at a family dinner, reading while eating and/or drinking, reading at work, reading this book to your boss, and/or reading while operating heavy machinery. Also, if suffering from bladder incontinence due to age/pregnancy/childbirth/etc., we recommend wearing sanitary products and/or reading while sitting directly on a toilet.
It’s really hard for me to rate this book because even though there a lot of things I liked—the heroine ruined it and Mack deserved so much better.
What I liked-
Mack. He was the sweetest cinnamon roll hero I’ve ever read. But also so hot and sexy and just perfect in every way.
The hospital scene where Katy is drugged up on morphine was hilarious.
The sex scenes were awesome.
(POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
What ruined it—
Katy. This is a reverse grumpy/sunshine. But she was just awful. There was nothing likable about her. She was so b-tchy to Mack. The only time she was nice to him was when they were having sex, then she was cold and pushing him away. He was freaking amazing to her constantly and she just acted indifferent towards him. I have no idea how he fell in love with her. Even at the end when he proposes, she says no and yells at him for rushing her. But he’s like “oh, that’s just my Katy-Cat”. In the epilogue it says it took ten proposals for her to say yes. She didn’t deserve Mack.

4.0 stars. I can be a bit of a hard sell. New to me author, and I'm thinking the start of this book is just, meh, okay as the featured couple begins their spring break. Thankfully, things pick up once Katy/Mack get back to town. The cast of characters expands, and the fun begins.
I absolutely LOVED the scenes with Mack's cousin/Thatch and the 3 investor friends. Their back & forth banter during their meetings with Mack were hilarious. Thatch, Kline, Wes & Cap all have that funny smart-ass, a trait I'm quite fond of 😍. And Thatch's endless nicknames for Mack, lol.
Really enjoyed this book once Katy & Mack hit their groove. Mack is adorable. Very cute romance.
The author has a list of books and their reading order at the end. Low and behold, the investors have their own stories. Will be giving those a try soon.
When the grade school math teacher can't stand the music teacher you know it's gonna be super hot steamy undeniable passion. Spring break vacation in Florida puts them in a hot mess literally and it's so much fun. I laughed my way through, enjoying every moment that was filled my all the amazing characters.
I've joked before that I must like one half of this writing duo better than the other, and I just keep coming back to that sentiment. I loved Accidental Attachment from the start, yet I did not connect to this one at all. It's shorter, spicier, more overtly funny, and the heroes could not be more different, but mostly I felt like it relied on slapstick humor rather than developing the emotional connection. I'm a big fan of enemies to lovers in rom coms and forced proximity is always a win, but neither of those things helped me connect to the characters this time. They go from feuding to vacation flinging in the blink of an eye, and then stay in a shallow zone for much of the story. The hero definitely grew on me over time, but not enough to make up for the twist in the back half. All in all, I was left feeling underwhelmed and disconnected, which is not quite how I expected this to go.
The story follows Katy, a teacher who is excited for her spring break. She's booked a vacation rental, and cannot wait to spend some time in the sun. The only problem? Turns out the rental was double-booked... and Katy's unwelcome roommate is none other than her work nemesis, Mack. The two have been teaching in close proximity for awhile now, and their personalities are very, very different. The fun-loving Mack drives Katy crazy at work, so the idea of spending her vacation with him is less than ideal. But it's not long before Mack is showing a side of himself that Katy has never seen, and the tension between them is taking on a decidedly sexual edge. With the two teachers in vacation mode, maybe it makes sense to give in to the feelings... so long as everything returns to normal on Monday.
I'm a longtime fan of this writing duo, so I know that I'm always in for a lighthearted rom com with some quirkiness and a bit of heat. That holds true with this as well - it's low angst and easygoing, with even more humor than their usual. It's technically interconnected to Accidental Attachment, but easily reads as a standalone. There's a definite opposites attract vibe, a frenemies situation, and lots of forced proximity. Katy is pretty uptight, but Mack brings out a different side of her, which I liked. Mack... well, I thought he was a total tool for a significant portion of the book, but he softened up somewhere along the way. I wish we'd seen more of their relationship post-fling, not just the sexual side of things. That had me feeling emotionally disconnected to the relationship, and then Thatch would pop in for an appearance and that would get more of a reaction out of me than anything else. I'm tired of Thatch, guys. It's time to move on. Regardless, there's a reason I've read more than twenty books by this writing duo over the years - they always deliver a light, fun read.
Audio note: Let's start with the positive, and that's CJ Bloom. She's not one of my personal favorites, but I've listened to many books narrated by her and she always gives a good performance. Her voice actually works well for the uptight Katy, since it has a slight edge to it that gives off those vibes. Bloom's performance is also clear and easy to listen to, so no complaints there. Alexander Cendese, on the other hand, made the book nearly unlistenable. It's my first time listening to something he's narrated, and I'll be avoiding him in the future. He sounds like a total bro, but it's entirely possible he was playing that up for Mack's character. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one. However, his voice for women was just atrocious. He made every female voice sound whiny and grating, which made me cringe every time. I ended up abandoning the audiobook partway through because I couldn't take his voice anymore, so I'm glad I had the text to fall back on. I can't recommend the audiobook, but it was short enough for a binge (around 8 hours), and lighthearted enough for a workday listen. This one's higher steam than some of MM's recent works, so not sure I'd recommend for the office, but it's not super spicy either.
Book info: - Reverse grumpy - sunshine - Workplace romance - Frenemies-with-benefits - One bed trope - Surprise pregnancy - Non-virgin MCs - No cheating, opd, third act breakup - HFN
Mack and Katy work at the same school for more than 5 years, he's a music teacher and she's a math teacher. Then they have a one week vacation for spring break, and they double booked on the vacation rental. You see, Mack is loved by everyone (except Katy) because he's charming and thoughtful. But Katy is annoyed at him and can't stand his personality.
But in their one week vacation, Katy saw a different side of Mack. He took care of her when she accidentally cut her foot, carried her to the ER and stayed with her while she got her stitches. He bathed her because she can't do it on her own. He made her breakfast and made sure to give her medicine. He even surprised her on her birthday. He literally spent that vacation doting on Katy. With all these efforts she eventually gave in to the attraction and they slept together which they continued even after returning to the real world.
Tbh, the story plot isn't something I haven't read before. I was hoping to feel some emotional connection between these two MCs but it fell short. Most of their interactions are physical and if they ever conversed it was off page and mentioned only in passing.
This is also a me problem, but I can't still wrap my head around the idea of a golden retriever manhoe 🤷♀️ Because Mack is or was, and he notate women's name in his phone where they meet them, and this didn't sit well with me. He ends things with them after one date or two at most, and he never deletes their numbers from his phone. 🤦♀️ Based on Katy's POV "He’s the guy who has half the females in the city on speed-dial in his phone.", so this image only made me dislike him already even at the beginning of the story, and that's my problem obviously.
He said he has a thing for Katy for the longest time but since she hated his guts, he didn't do anything about his attraction. But for someone who proclaims to be interested in Katy, he sure as crap doesn't know how to change her perception towards him. He lets her annoyance last for five freaking years!! Uhm, not the kind of MMC I'm looking forward to. If it wasn't for the double booking in this book, I can bet that nothing would still happen between them. He would still enjoy his bachelorhood and she would still stay away from him as much as possible.
Also, the first time they did the deed, they didn't even use protection. It really makes me icky reading these scenes in books where the MCs do it bare without having the safety or birth control talk. In this case, Katy hadn't been with anyone for the last year and half, and it wasn't mentioned how long it was for Mack. Apparently, this is also when Katy got knocked up, see irresponsibility at it's finest, but it is what it is. 🤦♀️
Overall, this was a light and sweet rom-com. No angst at all, some pushing from Katy but Mack is persistent. She did act like a witch almost at the end but I get where she's coming from and I don't blame her, not one bit. There is some intervention of the MMCs from the other books of these authors, and it was fun to read. The story ended in a HFN, imo, they're engaged (after 10 proposals) and Katy gave birth to their daughter.

Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, that's basically my favorite combination. I was as excited about the tropes as Thatch and Cap.
Katy's a straight-laced, definitely a rule follower, and maybe even a little neurotic about being very straight A. She's also a math teacher, has little free time, friends, or fun in her life. She straight up despises Mack Houston, the music teacher next classroom, he's the exact opposite of her, they are like oil and water. So what if Katy arrives at her rented condo for a little week-long getaway and said condo is double-booked, by none other than Mack? Well, once they get to know each other a little better Katy has to realize that maybe it wasn't hate sizzling between them after all.
I really didn't care much about Katy but I learned to like her better and better as she let loose a little. As for Mack, he was your typical easy-going, charming man child who's just too good to be true. He seemed a little immature at the beginning, but really stepped up his game.
Best Frenemies came just at the right time for me. I never laughed so hard just from reading an Aithor’s note alone.
Mack and Katy are both teachers and co-workers. Katy can’t stand the fun-loving, loving Mack. So when they found out they were stuck together on spring break, I brought out the popcorn. I’m sure the side character, Alma, did too.
It’s all fun and games on vacation until it gets too real. Our girl Katy had me crying and laughing so hard that my stomach hurt, and I snorted. It wasn't pretty. Thank God I was alone.
I love these two, and they are perfect examples of opposite attraction. Their chemistry is incredible, and I must add this book is one of the author's spicer books. I’m complaining about that fact. I greatly appreciate it.
If you’re looking for a spicy rom-com, look no further; this is for you.

This book was an ideal blend of 'The Hating Game' and 'The Unhoneymooners' and I really enjoyed its premise and the overall atmosphere.
The story follows Katie, an elementary school Math teacher, whose job is made difficult by the disruptive Music teacher, Mack. She can't stand him at work, but things take a turn when they end up double-booked for a vacation rental. During their vacation, to Katie's surprise , she has a good time with Mack, blurring the line between love and hate.
Initially, I thought this book would become my new favorite Rom-Com after 'The Unhoneymooners,' but it lacked the witty banter and the angst that I was hoping for. It got boring after the main characters got together. In the audiobook, Mack was portrayed as an annoying, overly humorous teenager, and the dialogues felt extremely childish. I found the author's note suggesting wearing sanitary pads or sitting on the toilet before reading to be excessive and gross.
Thank you to the author and netgalley for giving me an Advance Reader's Copy in exchange for an honest review.
Best Frenemies is an enemies to lovers romcom read. Katy and Mac are teachers at the same school and enemies on Katy's side. Mac is the music teacher and always disrupting Katy's math classes so she has hated him for a long time. Spring break is here and they are both going to Florida, but are not expecting to see each other in the same rental - which was double booked. Mac seemed a little goofy and kind of annoying the first half of the book but I did end up liking him. Katy was a little uptight but Mac brought a different side of her, which was kind of cute. I liked the chemistry between them.
Best Frenemies is the newest romcom from author duo Max Monroe! So I recently read Accidental Attachment by this author duo and saw this new one had a similar cover, so I wanted to try it out too.
In this book we follow Mack and Katy, they are coworkers/teachers at the same school and kind of enemies there. Mack is the music teacher and Katy’s math classroom is right next door. Her class is always getting disrupted by the loud music class next door and Katy has loathed Mack for the past 5 years of them working there together. Cut to spring break vacation and finally some time away from one another. But things go off the rails when they realize they’ve booked the same vacation rental and are now sharing a space for an entire week…
This was filled with all the hilarious mishaps and hijinks. The forced proximity of being stuck in the vacation rental together and all the banter leads to them hooking up and trying to leave it behind on vacation. But once they’re back to real life, the feelings they started to share on vacation are still there and their lives get complicated!
I thought this one was okay, it was an easy one to read/listen to the audiobook. But I wasn’t as pulled in with these characters as I was the previous book I read from this author duo. That said, I know plenty of romcom fans will love this one!
I received an audio ARC from NetGalley, all thoughts in this review are my own. Best Frenemies has a publish date of September 16, 2023!
Great example of enemies to lover story. Several actual laugh out loud moments, and all the warm fuzzies you’d expect from max and Monroe! It was so fun to read another book in the world of Accidental Attachment, and to see some familiar faces like Thatch and Kline. Looking forward to many more!
I loved every second of Best Frenemies! It was the perfect combination of entertaining, sweet, and sexy. I laughed more times than I could count with all the fun scenes and fantastic banter. It made me happy to read from beginning to end.
Mack and Katy had amazing chemistry. I loved their banter in the beginning and how Mack pushed Katy's buttons, it was antagonistic but playful. I loved learning about them and what formed them into who they are. Mack was such a sweetheart, I loved him and I loved how he cared for Katy. I totally got Katy and her personality and how she freaked out over certain things. I loved her coming out of her shell and really putting herself out there because she felt such a connection to Mack. There were so many stand-out moments between these two that had me cracking up. I loved the dialogue and texting, and both of their internal thoughts had me cracking up. I loved the different tropes involved and I could feel the sexual tension between them coming to a boil because their attraction was so off the charts. When things get heated and explode between these two, it was awesome.
I loved all the characters involved and the witty scenes they helped to create. They were spot-on and well timed always leaving me smiling. I have not read the Billionaire Bad Boys series yet, but after getting to see all the guys who are involved, I had to add the series to my TBR. I also love the connection with Accidental Attachment, that was a hilarious addition.
This was such a laugh-out-loud, entertaining read and I couldn't get enough of it. It flowed well and I loved the dual POVs. There was just the right amount of emotion and mild drama mixed in to round it all out. I loved the build to the end and the surprises learned along the way, it was amazing and I cried and cheered at the same time. This was outright fun and 100% enjoyable. I loved it all!
Complimentary copy received from That's What She Said Publishing.
“…clearly that 2nd of morphine has her flying high into the sedative sky now…”
The author’s note…ummm, I don’t want to even get into that. Kinda gross, not really necessary but also did make me laugh. You’ll have to check that out for yourself. Unique if nothing else
Mack Houston was such an endearing character, loved him from the start. Katy on the other hand, she just confused me. I liked her but never understood why she disliked Mack sooooo much. I get why she’d be annoyed by him and his carefree vibes at times since she was such a stickler for planning etc. but just couldn’t really understand her deal.
One other thing that drove me bonkers was when the male narrator doing a girlie laugh. Cringe to the max. Otherwise loved both narrators.
On to the good stuff because I really did enjoy this book.
👍🏻The chemistry and banter between the 2 MCs is so much fun.
👍🏻Wow. That Vicodin while in bathtub scene 🛀🫧🛁🤙🏻✌🏻
👍🏻The intimate moments of Mack and Katy were really well written and the chemistry between Mack & Katy was well conveyed.
👍🏻 I would absolutely read another book by this duo. Lucky me they have a ton of books I can choose from.
Al 20% lo dejo. Este mes vi que tres personas a las que sigo, ¡tres!, le dieron la puntuación máxima. Sonaba a rom-com enemies to lovers muy divertida...
I absolutely adored the way this story kicked off & I flew through the first half while it was giving me the best of enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity vibes. There’s a good dose of grumpy(F)/sunshine(M) too!
I was hopeful I was about to see my first 5-star read of the year, but the second half of the book slipped into a few romance tropes that I don’t love & felt a little rushed overall, so while it wasn’t the 5-starrer I was hoping for, it was still an excellent romance read!
I loved the humour in this book, the writing, the dual POV, the summer holiday setting & that our mains were teachers at the same school. All an excellent premise for a story!
Thoroughly enjoyed this rom-com & look forward to reading more from Max Monroe!
Highly recommend for contemporary romance, open door readers who like their rom with a side of com.
ARC kindly provided by the authors in exchange for an honest review.
OMG. This is STINKING CUTE. Best Frenemies is definitely included on my favorite books of 2023. It's an enemies to lovers, forced proximity, friends to lovers and office romance. I'm glad that my second attempt listening to this is worthwhile. I'm enjoying every second of banters, sexual tension and sizzling chemistry. I had a good laugh on certain parts. Mack and Katy's rivalry certainly makes you want to get a popcorn and witness them throwing fireworks at each other. Two teachers with different teaching styles working together on a project for their students? SIGN ME UP. The fling these two have? SPICY.
I love the narration of this book. CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese delivered it with ease. There is one part that I didn't like Anyways, the ending is really sweet. If you need a feel-good romance, I recommend Best Frenemies. I am looking forward to read Brooke Baker's story because I LOVE CRUSH TO LOVERS. THAT IS MY WEAKNESS.
This is the first Max Monroe book that I've read in quite some time, as I'd felt a shift in my enjoyment of their books - I must say, I was thoroughly pleased that I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun and flirty enemies to lovers book and I found it really easy to read and to like the characters. There were lots of laugh out loud moments and some sweet moments and sexy ones too. Would recommend.
I loved Katy and Mack; this was such a fun and easy to read story. They are complete opposites and Katy does her best to avoid Mack at all costs. Even though there chemistry is electric!
Mack is totally chilled, Katy on the other hand is anything but chilled.
Then they unexpectedly end up in the same place/accommodation for spring break things are about to get a bit more interesting!
Mack, could rival his cousin Thatch for best book boyfriend and of course Thatch along with a few of his friends makes a few appearances!
This is full of the usual fun escapades that you would expect from this author.
Quick Summary: A hilariously funny contemporary rom-com about frenemies who fall in love
My Review: Best Frenemies by Max Monroe is one of the best enemies to lovers stories I've read this quarter. The entertainment was non-stop. I so loved this adorable couple and all of the quirky family and friends associated with this delightful romance. The kiddos were uproarious throughout the book, but at the end...lol, it was cuteness times ten.
My Final Say: This novel was fantastic and well worth a read.
