SpongeBot SteelPants is the secondary antagonist and final boss of the video game SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom and its 2020 remake Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated.
Like the previous versions of robot bosses in the game, she is a gigantic robot version of SpongeBob SquarePants who aids Robot Plankton on his quest for total domination of Bikini Bottom. She's also Robot Plankton's fiancee.
Much like her regular incarnation, she was voiced by Tom Kenny.
Appearance[]
Upon Robot Plankton's revelation that he was getting married to SpongeBot, it was revealed that, in spite of appearances, the robot was a girl. Depending on which version she is fought in, SpongeBot has a different appearance.
In the console versions, she is a massive metallic version of SpongeBob SquarePants in karate gear with jet flames coming out of her pants (allowing him to fly and damage SpongeBob through contact), transparent eyes, and a mouth in the shape of a speaker. In the GBA version, she is only twice the size of SpongeBob with red eyes and a metallic Krusty Krab hat. She also has a claw left hand and a spatula right hand.
Biography[]
SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and Sandy find the massive SpongeBot within the Chum Bucket once 70 Golden Spatulas were collected. They discover that Plankton was behind the robots, showing the heroes that he accidentally forgot to switch the Duplicatron 3000 control to "Obey Plankton". Robo-Plankton reveals himself as the true leader of the robots and orders SpongeBot to destroy SpongeBob and his friends. The battle takes place in the Chum Bucket lab with the roof cut open and the floor partially destroyed.
Console Version[]
SpongeBot has nine generators on her body that are her weak spots: two on her hands, four on each side of her head, two on the sides of her body, and one on the tip of her nose. While the two on her hands can be destroyed by the Bubble Bounce, the rest must be destroyed with the Cruise Bubble (or less accurately with a Bubble Bowl). SpongeBot shares three of her health points with Robo-Plankton, who shoots at SpongeBob each time three generators (two for the first time) on SpongeBot are hit and must be taken down either with a spin attack or a Cruise Bubble. SpongeBot's attacks by karate chopping at the platforms SpongeBob stands on, and always ends with a karate slap, where he rests himself for a while, allowing SpongeBob to hit him with a Cruise Bubble. As he loses more generators, SpongeBot's attacks get more aggressive as the fight continues. He will throw more chops at SpongeBob and performs the "Kah-Rah-Tae" ability, where the three syllables pop out of her mouth and hit the three platforms he stands before.
After all nine generators are destroyed, SpongeBot falls defeated (landing on SpongeBob in the process), but is revived thanks to Robo-Plankton and grows Anchor Arms. SpongeBob follows Robo-Plankton into SpongeBot through her ear. To progress through the inside of the robot, SpongeBob hits several fuses throughout the robot's body, while also destroying robot enemies and avoiding Robo-Plankton's laser beam. Once the three fuses in her "brain" are hit, SpongeBot knocks SpongeBob and Robo-Plankton out of her head before her anchor arms deflate and he collapses backwards.
Gameboy Advance Version[]
SpongeBot is fought as soon as the main Duplicatron 3000 is destroyed. In this version, SpongeBot's only attack is throwing Krabby Patty bombs at SpongeBob, which can be eaten and spat out by Mystery back at the robot, meaning the fight cannot end without her. Only six bombs are required to take SpongeBot down. Since the arena fought on a conveyor belt, SpongeBob and Mystery must keep moving to the left of the screen while jumping over the bombs to avoid falling to their deaths.

Trivia[]
- During the intro cutscenes to Robo-Sandy and Robo-Patrick's boss fights, pieces of Spongebot's melody can be heard during dialogue. Since both are the game's two major bosses that are directly tied with the robot menace, this foreshadows that SpongeBot was going to be the game's final boss.
- SpongeBot MusclePants was meant to be her own boss fight instead of just a cutscene, but the phase was cut due to the developer's running out of time. The fight can be played through the game's coding, but it is unbeatable due to collision errors with the machine's arms, with the game crashing if they attack the player.
- Since the unused fight is playable with Patrick, it is possible that the boss was meant to have multiple phases with each of the playable characters, SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy, with each character having their own specific phase during the fight, similar to the boss battles against Robo-Sandy and Robo-Patrick.
- The first phase of the battle had an idle animation cut from the game where it shuffles its arms. This is presumably to happen whenever SpongeBob stayed underneath the arena for too long.
- It is possible to defeat both phases of the console version without using the Cruise Bubble.
- SpongeBot does not appear in the PC version of Battle for Bikini Bottom.
- In Rehydrated, SpongeBot's destroyed muscle arms and body appear as islands in the multiplayer horde mode.
- In SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, SpongeBot appears as a skin available for the Costume Pack dlc, with her design being based on her appearance in Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, however, in this game she is instead referred to as "RoboBob SteelPants".
