Biography[]
Past[]
By 2026, Karja had joined Orgocorp, the company of the High Evolutionary. Karja took on a position as an Orgosentry, eventually becoming the commander of Orgosentries present at the Orgoscope. During his time as commander, carrying the title of Master, Karja would bully and belittle his coworkers and fellow Orgosentries with jokes, especially one who Karja thought was an idiot.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3[]
In 2026, in order to save the life of Rocket, the Guardians of the Galaxy, consisting of Peter Quill, Mantis, Drax, Nebula, and Groot, joined by a time-displaced Gamora, set off for the Orgoscope to infiltrate it and get the codes needed to disable a killswitch in Rocket's body that was preventing them from operating on him.
As Karja stood around with some Orgosentries in the station and made jokes at their expense, the Guardians, minus Groot, infiltrated the Orgoscope disguised as maintenance workers, but their entry set off an anomaly alert, although the Guardians managed to disable the security eye that was watching the room. Regardless, Karja was contacted and dispatched to the airlock room, arming his suit's weaponry and having his squad open the doors, but did not recognize the Guardians in their disguises, looking around for intruders. Quill quickly threw together a cover story that they were trying to seal a breach in the room, berating Karja for barging in without warning and potentially risking devastating decompression. Karja, taken aback, tried to retort, only for Mantis to berate him as well. Karja quieted down to apologize, but Drax started to strain the cover story by poorly pretending to be mad as well. Quill managed to write it off by claiming that Drax was of low intelligence, but related to an executive who prevented them from leaving him behind. Karja agreed that Drax seemed like an idiot, before pointing to the Orgosentry he had been bullying before and calling him an idiot as well.
With that, Karja let the Guardians go and left the room with the Orgosentries, closing the door behind him so they could finish their "work," which allowed the Guardians to move through the station and track down where the file that should hold the disabling code for Rocket's killswitch was kept. However, Mantis and Drax were then recognized by other security personnel after the High Evolutionary put out an alert for them, and Karja quickly rallied the Orgosentries to attack the two, with Quill, Nebula, and Gamora also getting into a firefight with other security personnel while getting the file. Drax and Mantis were able to subdue many Orgosentries, with Drax using his brute strength while Mantis used her powers to make Orgosentries act like animals or start dancing, but Karja, who had been previously kicked aside by Mantis, picked up a large energy cannon and blasted Drax twice, critically wounding him. However, as Karja closed in on Drax and Mantis to apprehend them, Quill, with the help of an Orgocorp manager that Gamora held hostage, accessed the network that controlled the Orgosentry suits under the guise of wanting to talk to the Orgosentries. Once in control of their suits, Quill activated the anti-gravity functions of the Orgosentry suits, making Karja and the other Orgosentries get sent flying uncontrollably all across the station while Karja screamed in anger and confusion.
Later, after the Guardians escaped the station, Sovereign High Priestess Ayesha and Adam Warlock visited the Orgoscope after capturing a Ravager who had aided the Guardians infiltrate the station. Karja was present while the Ravager was restrained and interrogated by Ayesha, thanking Ayesha for funding Orgosentry retirement plans, but the Ravager refused to talk. Ayesha ordered Adam Warlock to show the Ravager that they meant business, but rather than intimidate the Ravager into talking, Adam stupidly incinerated the Ravager on the spot with his powers, much to Ayesha's anger. Karja, thinking that he and Ayesha had something in common, namely an idiotic underling, tried to console Ayesha by stating he dealt with a similar problem.
After the High Evolutionary was defeated, Orgocorp presumably dissolved, and what became of Karja is unknown. It is possible that he retired using the funds from Ayesha.
