- "It should come as no surprise that the so-called 'Heroes of Yavin' were once again at the hub of activity."
- ―Voren Na'al, to the Alliance of Free Planets Provisional Council, regarding the Bakura Incident
The Heroes of Yavin was a collective term used by historians such as Arhul Hextrophon and Voren Na'al to refer to the small cadre of Rebels responsible for the defeat of the first Death Star—namely, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa, Chewbacca, and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. They were also known as the Star Warriors. Later, Lando Calrissian came to be associated with this group, even though he did not participate in the attack on the first Death Star. Though named for their victory at Yavin 4, they were instrumental to the success of the Rebellion, the Alliance of Free Planets, the New Republic, and the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances in countless ways.
