The Onyx Cinder was a starship that at one point became buried in a forest on a planet.[2] Its first mate was the droid SM-33.[3] In 9 ABY,[4] a youngling called Wim discovered it and, together with three children called Neel, Fern and KB, investigated the ship but they accidentally activated it's engines and hyperdrive and flew to another planet. The group of kids then forged an alliance with SM-33 and a force-sensitive man called Jod Na Nawood to find back home and avoid a crew of pirates.[2]
Description[]
The Onyx Cinder was a medium-sized starship similar to a light freighter with a black-colored hull and three white stripes.[2] It had a hyperdrive[1][2] and six engines located at the sides that could be rotated for 90 degrees for landing as well as four extendable feet and a entry ramp.[2] Its cockpit had a big window at the front and two other different sized windows at its sides and two seats. The ship was equipped with two laser cannon turret bubbles at the top. In 9 ABY the Onyx Cinder was almost completely buried in dirt, roots grew from it's ceilings and small animals lived in it.[1][2] SM-33 had become quiet rusty and old and a skeleton could be seen leaning on a wall with a knife in its chest.[1] Despite its bulky appearance, the Onyx Cinder was quiet versatile and was able to outrun pursuers.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Onyx Cinder will appear in the upcoming Disney+ television series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. It was first identified in a listing by German retailer Müller revealing the LEGO Star Wars: Skeleton Crew set 75374 The Onyx Cinder.[5]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" and "Chapter 16: The Rescue" to 9 ABY. The events of Chapters 1–16 must therefore also take place in 9 ABY, and the events of Chapters 17–24 must take place around that year as well. As SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set in the same time period as The Mandalorian, it must therefore also be set around 9 ABY.
