Foodstuffs were the raw material of food. Organic creatures needed food to sustain themselves, and endothermic beings used the energy in their food to keep their body temperature constant.[2] Groceries were basic foodstuffs and commodities on Cerea that could be carried in a basic grocery bag.[3]
