Synopsis[]
Patrick goes with Bunny for Bring Your Kid to Work Day at the Bikini Bottom Jail. After she and Patrick greet a few prisoners, he needs to use the bathroom, so he goes inside the prison. He mistakes the cell of inmate Sockeye Sammy for a bathroom. Realizing how stupid Patrick is, Sammy lets him switch places to use the "bathroom" and swaps their clothes. The guard lets Sockeye out, and Bunny mistakes him for Patrick and takes him to their house.
Meanwhile, Patrick is distraught after the prisoners explain that he is stuck in jail. However, he enjoys the cafeteria, mistaking the metal tray for a cracker and eating it. The prisoners begin betting money on how many trays Patrick can eat. When Bunny drives home, Sockeye is about to leave until he sees a cop car driving past, so he decides to stay for dinner. Upon seeing Bunny's disgusting meal, he is about to leave, but hesitantly eats it once Cecil suspects something is up. Afterwards, he tries to use the bathroom, only to be scared away by Tinkle. Trying to escape, he accidentally traps himself in the time closet.
Back in prison, Patrick impresses the prisoners by eating 100 trays. Patrick invites his new friends over for a slumber party in his cell. At the Star house, Sockeye escapes the time closet, only for Squidina to have him act on the Patrick Show, since Patrick is not around to do it. She launches him out of a catapult and fires a cannon at him. Further run-ins with Slappy and GrandPat lead Sockeye to dig a tunnel back to prison. Meanwhile, Patrick catches the prisoners digging through the floor with a spoon, and he eats a tunnel for them. Sockeye and Patrick meet each other underground and a panicked Sockeye makes them swap their clothes back to normal.
On stage, Patrick gives a speech to his audience about the wonderful time he had in prison, while the escaped prisoners are captured by the guards. Sockeye is relieved to be back in his cell, until he sees Patrick on the TV, announcing that he and his family will now be moving into the prison. He screams in horror, ending the episode.

Gabe Del Valle revealed that he and Mike Pelensky wrote and storyboarded this episode, and Bob Camp directed said storyboards 4 hours before this episode premiered.[5]
Model sheets[]
- Designed by Chris DeRose.[1]
Art[]
Character design[]
- By Gabe Del Valle.[6]
Storyboards[]
- Rough boarded by Gabe Del Valle and Mike Pelensky,[5][7][8][1][9][10] plussed by Jennifer Gleeson.[11]
Production notes[]
Gabe Del Valle:
- Del Valle designed Sockeye Sammy directly based on his voice actor, Danny Trejo.[5] "[The crew] knew early on that Danny Trejo was gonna voice him so I wanted to make sure this fish had a distinct Trejo-ness to him."[6] He said that "Making him a fish was no easy task!"[7]
Mike Pelensky:
- Pelensky said the episode was a "spectacular season 1 finale" co-wrote and boarded "with [his] incredible inmate Gabe Del Valle" and "storyboards supervised by [their] man on the outside, Bob Camp."[8]
- "I had tons of fun coming up with gags and awkward character interactions for this one!"[9]
- "The scene where Cecil leans in and leers at Sockeye Sammy because he believes "an impostor switched places with my son" always made Gabe Del Valle laugh really hard in pitches. And yeah, it's hilarious to see that kind of intensity on our usually good-natured Cecil. It really is the little things sometimes..."[10]
Chris DeRose:
- DeRose loved drawing Sammy, and hoped to see more of him in the series.[1]
- Del Valle, who created the character, found the final design "wonderful."[6]
Jennifer Gleeson:
- Gleeson said that "This was my first outing with the Star family. I can see how nervous I was in some of these drawings... I've learned SO much about storyboarding, and drawing in general since".[11]
- Sockeye Sammy's "muscular physique was a bit intimating but Bob Camp gave me a load of well needed advice".[12]

- Bunny's garbage dinner is similar to the one she makes in "Late for Breakfast."
Cultural references[]
