Steve, also known as Incidental 107[2], Incidental 107BABY[3], Cashier 1, the werewolf, the coin fish,[4] and the driving instructor,[5] is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Valentine's Day." His incidental type is currently unknown.

Description[]

He is a light olive green salmonidae with light brown fins and brown lips. He wears blue jeans and a black belt with a silver belt buckle. In his older appearances, he has his eyes on top of his head, with bags under them.

He also has an alternate color palette that debuted in "A Pal for Gary" where he is colored faded blue with dark blue fins. He also wears light brown pants and has a golden belt buckle. His palette greatly resembles Incidental 1D's.

He is a peanut-shaped baby fish with large eyes with eyelashes, a strand of yellow hair, and white cheeks. He also wears a diaper.

He wears a dark blue buttoned uniform with matching blue pants that have a golden stripe and a matching blue and gold bellhop's hat. His dorsal fin also has a brown outline instead of its natural black outline.

He is colored purple with darker purple lips and cyan fins. He also has black balding hair and he wears a buttoned-up light green shirt with a dark purple bowtie, his pants have a visible fly, and his belt buckle is colored golden. He also has black eyebrows and bags under his eyes.

Steve is the most consistently used name Incidental 107 has been given in the franchise. It was used for him in "Toy Store of Doom" as a Toy Barrel employee and in "Snail Mail" as a scythe salesman. He has however been given four other generic one time names:

  • In "New Student Starfish," an unclearly-individually-identified up-to-six from the Good Noodle Board of Mrs. Puff's class containing Incidentals 7, 11, 18, 37B, 73, 104, 107, and 108 may be named Lloyd, Sheila, Paco, Debbie, Horace, and/or Rich; ambiguity raised by a student not appearing in "New Student Starfish" being named Horace in Class Confusion.
  • In "Good Ol' Whatshisname," an unclearly-individually-identified three from the finite selection of Incidentals 48, 49, 106, and 107 are named Norma, Jess, and Ivy.
  • In "Toy Store of Doom," Guard 1 refers a Toy Barrel employee Incidental 107 as Frank, although he tells him his name is Steve.


Role in series[]

Steve is one of the most commonly used incidental characters in the series. While he has had very few notable and speaking roles in the first four seasons, he has had a huge amount of them in season 5 and onwards, nearly having at least one notable or speaking role in almost every episode he appears in. He also has a "BABY" suffix variant that has made a few appearances throughout the series. He was firstly designed to be a patron at the Valentine's Day Carnival.

He is part of the angry mob. After the angry mob knocks over Frank's lifeguard tower, he yells out "Now what?!" before the mob decides to then attack Frank before they get stopped by Squidward. When SpongeBob tells the angry mob about how Bubble Buddy is his special friend, he takes out his fuzzy dice named "Snake Eyes" and claims it to be his special inanimate friend.

Five Incidental 107s appear in the original storyboard roasting chestnuts around a fire and eating them afterwards, as well as getting their tongues burnt. This role was replaced by Incidental 4 and Incidental 6 in the final episode.

He later appears watching SpongeBob and Patrick fight with many other students but leaves with everyone else after he notices SpongeBob and Patrick are not punching each other, to which he replies "This is embarrassing."

He appears as a customer at the frozen Krusty Krab angrily demanding where his food is until SpongeBob shoots a Krabby Patty into his mouth. He also appears swimming with Squidward and Incidental 45 near the end of the episode.

A female variant of him appears in SpongeBob's dream as the damsel in distress tied to railroad tracks during a battle between SpongeBob and Jack M. Crazyfish. She appears again when SpongeBob tells the Krusty Krab customers the story of how he got a black eye.

He appears as a farmer at Dead Eye Gulch with Incidental 103 where he asks him what will happen to their town and he also calls him "Pa." Steve then tells him that he ain't his "Pa."

He also appears in another boatmobile watching handsome Squidward crossing the road while Incidental 8 yells "Oh so handsome!" He lastly appears at Squidward's bathroom and says "handsome."

When SpongeBob is about to get his license after Mrs. Puff believes that he stopped the Bikini Bottom Museum of Boating, he reveals that he has been controlling it the whole time. He then gives SpongeBob an honorary sea legs badge for his bravery.

He asks Steven, Incidental 40, and Incidental 105 if Patrick's flopping ever gets old for them and they all agree that it has gone stale.

He is seen as a cashier at the Toy Barrel, who is first seen after he is pointed out by SpongeBob. SpongeBob then starts to sing to him, much to his annoyance. Later, he closes down the Toy Barrel after the security guard confirms that he saw nobody left in the store. The next day, he opens the Toy Barrel, telling the kids to have fun, and is surprised to see SpongeBob and Patrick leave from the store after he opened it, realizing that they hid in the store at night and narrowly avoided getting caught trespassing.

He is an architect hired by Patrick to help build his evil sand fort and he pays him with two dollar bills made of sand.

He and Sandals appear as the two only customers at the Krusty Krab when the Chum Bucket becomes a hit.

SpongeBob steps on his head so he can get through the long line at the Krusty Krab. He later appears at the Krusty Krab at a table with Incidental 7 with Squidward sleeping on the table during Squidward's flashback of falling asleep on duty. He then appears as the pastor at SpongeBob and Sandy's "wedding" where he tells Patrick that he didn't know the wedding was really a play when it ended. He is then seen sitting on a bus stop bench with some other fish until they hear SpongeBob singing "Oh, Krusty Krab" and head over to the Krusty Krab. He is lastly seen when SpongeBob delivers a plate of Krabby Patties to him, Incidental 37A, and Incidental 48 while rolling on the Krabby Patty secret formula.

He is one of the customers Mr. Krabs waves a Krabby Patty in front of, making him drool.

He is seen in the movie that King Neptune is watching along with a sobbing Incidental 48. He also appears as a businessman and heard cheering when King Neptune is proud of Triton.

He points and laughs at a naked Sandy.

He takes Incidental 103 to all the disgusting places in Bikini Bottom, including the Chum Bucket.

He orders a Krabby Patty at the beginning of the episode and his food then gets splattered all over his face due to SpongeBob slipping in grease and he says "Now that's what I call fast food." He is later seen at the Krusty Krab eating greasy Krabby Patties with Incidental 49.

He appears as the cameraman for the New Sponge commercial.

He comes out of his house and yells out "Trash day!?" after Incidental 82 mistakes Squidward as a garbage man.

He brings his pet worm to the Krusty Krab, but does not want to leave him alone outside due to his pet getting lonely and upset. But when Mr. Krabs hears that he was going to buy his worm a Krabby Patty, he tells him his worm could stay and he will give him two Krabby Patties for the price of one.

Cashier 1 is shown as an Om Hotel employee where Mr. Krabs plays the old quarter on a string trick when he gave him his tip. Steve also appears as the one staying in the hotel room next to SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs' room where he watches the two of them steal the wall between their rooms. Cashier 1 lastly once again appears as an Om Hotel employee where he finds the judge trying to steal stuff from the hotel by hiding them in his briefcase.

He desperately pounds the ground while Mr. Krabs scratches off the specials with his claws. He also tries to gather Incidental 14's loose change after Squidward accidentally drops it, until Mr. Krabs scares him and the other customers trying to collect the change away.

He is shown approving of the Shelly Superhighway during Plankton's flashback and claims that he likes highways. He is later seen with Incidental 7 tossing SpongeBob and Patrick's "Save Jellyfish Fields" flyer away. He is also seen as a CEO named Buxton during SpongeBob and Patrick's song.

He appears as a resident in the past Bikini Bottom washing a shirt using water from a well until Man Ray and his minions suddenly appear.

He is later seen complaining with Incidental 41 about where his Krabby Patty is to Squidward, and many other impatient customers then join along with them as well. He then receives a burnt Krabby Patty that is as hard as a rock and he complains about that as well. He tosses the Krabby Patty at Squidward which causes all the other customers to enjoy tossing objects at Squidward and SpongeBob.

"The Cent of Money"[]

Mr. Krabs watches him plunge his fin into his bucket of coins at the Fun Arcade. He then stares at Mr. Krabs when he raises Gary the Snail and watches his bucket of coins shake from Gary's attraction.

He is one of the police officers who were ordered to keep Rrarrg captive and later run him out of town.

"Welcome to the Bikini Bottom Triangle"[]

The coin fish appears as a label on the quarter Mr. Krabs finds at the Bikini Bottom Triangle. He becomes offended when Mr. Krabs refers him as "little one" and walks off of the quarter.

He orders a Krabby Patty at the beginning of the episode while SpongeBob gets the grill cleaned.

He later appears in the long line at the Krusty Krab where he takes a large piece of a Krusty Krab support beam and attempts to whack Squidward with it. Lastly, he turns into a werewolf after Patrick suspects Orin J. Ruffy as a werewolf.

He zooms by on the road in his boatmobile when SpongeBob attempts to use the road to get to Patrick.

"Karate Star"[]

He is one of the ice cream men that is making Patrick's tall ice cream cone order and he then accuses Incidental 39 of steal money from the tip jar after Patrick uses his karate chop to launch the money onto his hand.

"Buried in Time"[]

Mr. Krabs tells him that the keychain he wants to purchase that is made out of cardboard and paper clips will cost $49.57. He initially refuses but Mr. Krabs the gives him a coupon for one free ice cube and he accepts the offer. He is also seen in the front of the crowd cheering after the time capsule gets buried.

"The Abrasive Side"[]

He appears as a businessman at the bus stop where he is first seen standing on SpongeBob's face while he was sleeping near the bus stop so he can be first in line. He then cuts in front of SpongeBob and becomes the first one in line at the bus stop.

"Earworm"[]

SpongeBob splashes soda onto his face while singing Musical Doodle. He is also one of the customers that Mr. Krabs refused to let exit the Krusty Krab.

"Shellback Shenanigans"[]

Gary the Snail allows him to enter the Krusty Krab while serving as a bouncer for the Krusty Krab.

The chair he was sitting on falls over at the Sea Chicken Shack. He is later seen receiving his food at the Krusty Krab near the end of the episode.

He listens to Patrick chanting "secret hideout" from the Krusty Krab kitchen. He later appears as the father of Incidental 152. He is first seen thanking Mr. Krabs for allowing his son to go on the Mauna Loa even though a sign says that he is too short. He and his wife, Incidental 46, are later seen at the end of the episode scolding Mr. Krabs for putting their son in physical danger when the ride falls apart.

Steve and Incidental 14 realize they were meant for each other.

He appears at the Krusty Krab with Incidental 14 where he admits to her that he is unable to read Squidward's sign. She then reveals that she cannot read herself and they realize that they are meant for each other.

"Accidents Will Happen"[]

He is seen when Mr. Krabs is giving Squidward a back massage and asks for a Krabby Patty during the process. An annoyed Mr. Krabs pulls money out of his pocket, goes into the kitchen to make a Krabby Patty, and brings it out all greased up and asks Mr. Krabs if he is going to wash his hands but first, but Mr. Krabs carelessly shoves the greasy Krabby Patty into his mouth; Steve groans in pain as he holds his stomach. He is also part of Squidward's story eating a Krabby Patty until Squidward discovers that there are only 10 seeds on his bun instead of 11. So he takes his Krabby Patty down with him to the basement and he calls him diligent and charming.

He arrives at the drive-thru and orders a meal from the Krusty Krab, but because the window was small, SpongeBob has trouble getting the meal out of the window. He also tries to use a trampoline, but the meal falls on the customer, then he gives Mr. Krabs the bill to pay for his dry cleaning. He later appears in the second drive-thru with Incidental 63 and Incidental 152 where they first aggressively eat their order and are later seen gnawing on Squidward.

He is shown to be part of Mr. Krabs' Navy crew and he gets eaten by the abominable snow mollusk like the others.

He is seen driving his boat during SpongeBob and Patrick's "game."

He appears as one of the ravenous customers at the Krusty Krab at the beginning of the episode. He also appears as one of the students in Mrs. Puff's Boating School watching SpongeBob struggle to give his oral report, and SpongeBob then sees his underwear through the underwear goggles.

He runs out of the Krusty Krab from hearing Squidward's bad clarinet playing. He later appears as a student at Mrs. Puff's Boating School when her window shatters from Squidward's bad clarinet playing.

When the Giant Krabby Patty suddenly stopped going after the citizens of Bikini Bottom, Steve points out to the citizens that it has stopped, but it was then revealed that it only stopped because of the red light and it continued to go after the citizens when the light turned green.

Mr. Krabs has him and Incidental 14 look at the Fiasco for a short time then has them purchase a total of four Krabby Patties for themselves.

His Jellien clone appears at the Krusty Krab with Incidental 27's Jellien clone where they rise up from their table when Mr. Krabs' Jellien clone yells out that SpongeBob and Sandy are imposters. SpongeBob then squirts his clone with mayonnaise, defeating it.

He is seen as the only one who seems to enjoy Plankton's Krabby Patties made of chum at first, but when he notices a bunch of other citizens got food poisoning for the Krabby Patties, he just shrugs and lays on a pile of fainted citizens.

Mr. Krabs looks for the penny SpongeBob spoke of around his and Incidental 48's table.

He gives the two of them his leftover for them to eat. He lastly appears near the end of the episode where he uses Squidward as a doormat at the Krusty Krab.

He appears as a skywriter where Patrick hires him to help advertise for the Krusty Krab. He falls from the sky and writes "Help Me" on a clipboard. Patrick then realizes that idea was not effective at all, as the skywriter is injured and claims to have broken his thesaurus. He then appears as a scoutmaster where he shows his scouts a tree at a park until they find that Patrick used a chainsaw on the tree to advertise for the Krusty Krab. They then run away when the tree starts to fall down. He later appears at the Krusty Krab paying Squidward for a Krabby Patty while he makes the Patty at the same time.

He is shown as the guy on the gurney during Colonel Carper's "High Tide Time" song as well as seen clapping during the song with Incidental 46 and Incidental 49. He later appears at the supermarket where he engulfs a bottle of nuts and shakes them around in his butt to the tune of SpongeBob and Squidward's performance, he then just tosses the jar of nuts into his shopping cart and leaves when their song ends.

"Patrick-Man!"[]

He and Incidental 42 appear as police officers arresting Mrs. Puff after they believe that she is a boat thief due to reading Patrick Man's note that says so. He is later seen at the Krusty Krab where Patrick attempts to unmask him until Mr. Krabs grabs him away.

He becomes amazed when he and Incidental 104 receive their Krabby Patties from SpongeBob on the ceiling. He also appears when Incidental 9 and Incidental 41 tell him that SpongeBob named his spatula Fifi. He then finds Patrick crazily laughing about SpongeBob naming his spatula Fifi and reveals to him that he has a spatula named Frank.

He later appears as a prison guard spotting Plankton while he was trying to escape the Bikini Bottom Jail. Several Incidental 107s as prison guards then appear helping other prison guards form the gap on the wall that Plankton made with his soap bomb, they, however, all get stuck in the gap together and Plankton and the prisoners manage to escape. He lastly appears as one of the police officers that was hiding in the Krabby Patty secret formula safe so they could arrest Plankton and the other prisoners.

He is seen approving of the goo bubble on television. He later appears in downtown Bikini Bottom where he hides inside a trash can from the giant goo bubble in fear.

He then puts the gum into his mouth and advises SpongeBob and Plankton to look at the animal shelter.

Like Fred, he yells "My leg!" but he says he is okay. The grill then falls on him again and he says that he is slightly less okay.

    • He is also heard with a feminine voice near the end of "The Clash of Triton."
  • He makes his first speaking role in "Bubble Buddy."
  • Gladys was originally considered to be a female variant of him until she became a separate character appearing as a minor character in The Patrick Star Show.
