At one point, Sonic and Shadow visited the White House and took a picture in front of it.
Shadow the Hedgehog[]
In Shadow the Hedgehog, the President of the United Federation spent the majority of the Black Arms' invasion of the earth in the White House. At one point, he was contacted by his Secretary, who reported on the Black Arms getting pushed back from the Westopolis and alien invasions in five other cities in the country.
What happened to the White House afterwards remains uncertain. However, the President was presumably evacuated from it, as he was in GUN Fortress when Shadow defeated Black Doom for good and destroyed the Black Comet with the Eclipse Cannon.
In the Sonic X anime series and its comic series published by Archie Comics, the White House was a location on Earth and the residence of the President. During Sonic and his friends' time on Earth, the White House would host numerous crisis reports related to the infamous Dr. Eggman.
Trivia[]
In Shadow the Hedgehog, the White House is seemingly located in the fictional equivalent of Northwestern Illinois, Southeastern Iowa, or Northeastern Missouri. This is evidenced by the scene of the Eclipse Cannon firing a laser onto the earth, where the laser is fired onto a continent identical to North America (albeit partially obscured by clouds), passing through the White House and creating a blast roughly around where the aforenoted areas are in real life.
The cinematic cutscene showing the destruction of the White House from Shadow the Hedgehog has been directly influenced by the 1996 science fiction film Independence Day. According to Takashi Iizuka, the game gains numerous film references.[2]
It shares the same name as the actual White House in Washington, DC.
While it is not known whether or not the White House was damaged or destroyed during the events of Shadow the Hedgehog, it does appear in Sonic Comic, implying that it was rebuilt, or not even damaged at all.[1]
