The Pistol[1][2] (拳銃[3] Kenjū?, lit. "Handgun") is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a gun-type weapon usable by both enemies and the player.

Description[]

The Pistol is a fairly standard handgun in terms of design, being completely dark grey with a rather thick frame and slide

Game appearances[]

Shadow the Hedgehog[]

In Shadow the Hedgehog, the Pistol can only be found in certain stages, such as Westopolis and The Doom. They can be wielded by GUN Soldiers, who will use them against the player. The Commander attempted to shoot Shadow with a Pistol in one of the cutscenes in the Slightly Hero path after blaming Shadow for the death of Maria and his family, although Shadow dodged the bullet.

Pistols can be dropped by defeated GUN Soldiers that wield them or released from breakable Containers. Touching one will make the playable character pick it up automatically, and pressing SNNBGAMECUBEDISCO/Square/XboxX (either on the ground or in mid-air) will fire it. As a gun, the Pistol can shoot enemies from a distance (targets within range will be automatically targeted). While their range is short and their shots deal low damage, they often appear in abundance, allowing the user to stack up on them easily. A Pistol can fire a total of ten shots, and once those run out, it becomes useless. However, it can be reloaded with another ten shots by picking up another Pistol.

Shadow the Hedgehog Flash[]

In Shadow the Hedgehog Flash, the Pistol appears as a weapon usable to Shadow the Hedgehog.

Shadow Shoot[]

In Shadow Shoot, the Pistol appears as a weapon used by Shadow the Hedgehog.

Trivia[]

  • The Pistol is modeled after Heckler & Koch's USP Tactical, albeit with an unrealistically oversized slide and frame.
