Vidcund Curious is a pre-made adult Sim who resides in Strangetown with his two brothers Pascal and Lazlo Curious, and has another sister, Jenny Smith, who is married to the alien Pollination Tech#9 Smith.

Biography[]

Life leading up to The Sims 2[]

Vidcund is very close to Lazlo and they are best friends, even as brothers. He works in the Science career track as a Lab Assistant. When the family is first played, Vidcund is 23 days away from being an elder. Vidcund is voiced by Dave Boat.

Vidcund is blond with large green tinted glasses, and he enjoys stargazing and basically anything that has to do with study. As a teenager, he lost a fight to General Buzz Grunt and went steady with Circe Beaker, his childhood friend, who is now married to his bitter rival, Loki Beaker. He still has a crush on Circe, but this feeling is not mutual as she only sees him as an acquaintance.

If the player follows the text-box prompts upon first loading the Curious household and directs Vidcund to use the telescope, the game is biased to give a 100% certainty that he will be abducted and return pregnant. Vidcund is known to be the shoving Sim when a Sim from another household stargazes with a telescope during the day. This is because Vidcund is the first playable Sim created in Strangetown. If Vidcund stargazes through a telescope, Olive Specter will be the shoving Sim instead, unless Bella Goth is made playable. If Seth Zaidi is resurrected, he will be the shoving Sim.

Vidcund's biography has a very similar layout to Mortimer Goth in Pleasantview. When editing in SimPE, Vidcund's skin tone genetics are not recognized. Because of this, he may sometimes produce a child with medium skin regardless if the other Sim doesn't have genetics of this skin tone. It appears that the installment of some expansion packs fix this strange behavior. The same happens with Hal Capp. Like Jenny, Vidcund bears little resemblance to his parents. However, Pascal and Lazlo strongly resemble their father. Vidcund’s relationship data also contains inexplicable family relations to Bella Goth, Crystal Vu, General Buzz Grunt, Loki Beaker, Circe Beaker and Nervous Subject.

Fittingly, Vidcund's predestined hobby will be science if The Sims 2: FreeTime is installed, due to his neat and serious personality.^[TS2:FT]

Life leading up to The Sims 2 (PSP)[]

In The Sims 2 for PSP, Vidcund kidnapped Pascal's alien son, Tycho, for funding on a secret experiment.

• (Personal): He was once a stand-up comic... When he told jokes, everyone would stand up to leave.
• (Intimate): Vidcund used to be a fire fighter, but got fired for being too hot-headed...
• (Dark): Vidcund sold Tycho to the Dudes in Black so they would fund his secret project.
• (Working with the Enemy): Lazlo claims that Vidcund has been working with the Dudes in Black.

According to the game's data, he's interested in Sci-Fi, Crime, and, in contrast to his PC counterpart, Health.

Life leading up to The Sims 4[]

A version of the three Curious brothers was uploaded by Maxis to The Sims 4 Gallery in March 2019.^[1] He once again lives with his brothers and, should The Sims 4: Get to Work be installed, all three brothers are employed in the science career. His appearance remains generally the same, although his hair is shorter and he wears sunglasses instead of glasses with colorful green/blue lenses.
