History[]
In the early 1200's, the Sorcerer began to create chaos everywhere until the Norisu Nine fought him back. They chased him across the sea from Japan to ancient Norrisville. [1] However, in the process of the war, eight of them were defeated, leaving the last surviving ninja to stop him. Assisted by Randy, Howard, and Plop Plop, the last Norisu Nine member succeeded in locking the Sorcerer underground and became the first Norrisville Ninja.
Trivia[]
- The symbol on the Ninja suit, the Nomicon, the new sword from "Sword Quest", the sacred stone that trapped the Sorcerer and the Tengu, and other weapons resembles the number 9, which might be referencing the Norisu Nine.
- The 9 symbol which appears often in the series is known by a few names such as, The Norisu Nine Emblem, The Ninja Symbol and The Spiral Nine.
- Using romanization of Japanese, the rōmaji version of “Norris” is ノリス (norisu).
- Norrisville was possibly named after the Norisu Nine.
- In "Randy Cunningham: 13th Century Ninja", after failing to defeat the Sorcerer, First Ninja mentions them, saying how his brothers' sacrifice ended up being for nothing.
- It is hinted in part 4 of The Secrets of The 9, that the eight brothers may exist inside The Nomicon.
