Izzy Hawthrone is the deuteragonist of the 2022 Disney/Pixar computer-animated film, Lightyear.
She is voiced by Keke Palmer.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- As a child, Izzy dreamed of being a space ranger like her grandmother Alisha.
- When Buzz returned from his test, Izzy (although she still didn't know who he was) saved him from being kidnapped by a Zyclop (and unknowingly delayed Zurg's plan).
- Although Burnside and most of the colonists leave her and Mo and Darby to die outside like nothing, she has no resentment against them for this and was even worried when Zurg tried to attack them.
- When a Zyclop managed to grab Buzz, she tried to stop him from taking him to Zurg even though she needed help.
- Despite being a rookie and Buzz prefers trained people, she still wanted to help him.
- Upon realizing that they didn't have enough strength, she encouraged Buzz to join them in the same cone telling him that he doesn't need to be able to save them.
- She, Mo and Darby saved Buzz from falling.
- After Mo accidentally almost killed Sox, Izzy comforted him telling him it was just a mistake. This would later lead to him comforting her for accidentally pressing the wrong button.
- When Buzz explained that his efforts ended up leaving Alisha with nothing, Izzy explained to him that she had a happy life on T'Kani Prime with her family and friends as well as others except him.
- This later made Buzz realize that people's lives are more important than the mission and that Zurg was putting many people in danger without caring, leading him to prevent him from altering the Timeline. She is the reason why those born on T'Kani Prime still exist despite most trying to arrest Buzz and break his spirit.
- She felt immense remorse for accidentally pressing the wrong button, which resulted in the fuel crystal and Buzz being taken away by Zurg.
- She used a device placed by one of the Zyclops to be transported to the Zurg ship.
- Despite her fear of space, she overcame it to save Buzz and risked nearly getting lost in space to save Sox from floating away.
- She used a device to help her and Buzz destroy the Zurg ship and escape in time.
- When Buzz began to lose confidence that he could still save them, she encouraged him.
- When Buzz told her that the fuel crystal was destroyed, she felt bad that he could no longer return to his home, but was happy to learn that he finally accepted T'Kani Prime as his new home.
- She seemed sad to see Buzz about to be arrested by Burnside, showing that despite his disobedience, she still sees him as a friend and a hero because she knew he wanted the best for people and refused to accept that he was a criminal. for defying Burnside's orders.
- In the end, she would go on a mission to stop future invaders from invading T'Kani Prime.
