Elena Castillo Flores of Avalor, also known as Princess Elena, is the titular main protagonist of the 2016 Disney Channel animated series Elena of Avalor and the overarching protagonist of Sofia the First.
She is the daughter of the late King Raul and late Queen Lucia, the older sister of Isabel, the granddaughter of Francisco and Luisa Flores, and is the current Ruler of Avalor.
She is voiced by Aimee Carrero, who also voiced Adora in She-Ra and The Princesses of Power.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
- After Sofia freed her from her amulet, she goes off to face Shuriki and take back her kingdom.
- She rallied up her people to save her kingdom from Shuriki.
- She broke Shuriki's wand, which removes her powers.
- When she was dealing with Charoca, she chose to be civil and peaceful with him to get a better understanding of him instead of kicking him out or resorting to violence.
- After defeating Shuriki, Elena still protects her kingdom from threats like Victor and Carla, Fiero, Ash, and even Shuriki again after she returned.
- She's humble and honest, will apologize or admit when she's wrong, and is capable of acknowledging her mistakes and learning from them as well. For example, in the episode "The Gecko's Tale", when she and Isabel get into an argument on handling things (Elena rushing into things and Isabel analyzing everything before making her decisions), Elena apologizes to Isabel after making her cry and says both their ways can work.
- After learning that Shuriki returned, Elena and her friends go on a quest to stop her from making the Scepter of Night, and when they fail to do so, Elena trains with Quita Moz and his Sunbirds.
- Although she is furious against her paternal cousin, Duke Cristobal, it is completely justified because he betrayed them in favor of Shuriki and wanted to hand all of them over to the death. From this fact, she imprisoned him for his crimes.
- She's shown to be kind to the Sirenas and is willing to make peace between them and humans.
- She defeated Shuriki once again, this time for good, avenging her parents.
- She forgave Cruz and his sister Vestia after they helped save Vallestrella from their failed Engineered Heroics.
- She made peace between King Hector and Queen Abigail by saying that their fights could affect their kingdoms.
- Despite arresting Victor and Carla, Elena does show sympathy for Carla when Ash turned Victor into stone.
- She only agreed to let Mateo briefly be the Captain of the Guard as they were dealing with Ash since she's an evil wizard and later agreed to give Gabe his job back.
- She and Isabel helped Antonio and Pablo Agama put aside their differences and work together to find their treasure.
- Despite distrusting them earlier, she quickly agrees to have Victor and Carla free Ixlan to help defeat Ash and then forgives and pardons them for their past actions.
- Despite her disownment of Esteban, Elena was hinted to still care about him as shown when she showed old memories and even felt bad when Esteban lost his parents.
- In an alternate It’s a Wonderful Life-like universe Zuzo dreams her into, she encourages Avalor to stand up to King Esteban and Queen Doña Paloma.
- In the finale, after hearing that Ash and her team were going to release the Four Shades of Awesome, she and her friends attempt to stop them.
- After getting closure from her parents on why Esteban helped Shuriki, and how revenge would only lead to bad decisions, Elena feels remorse for being so hard on him.
- She lost the Olaball match so that she can get back to her world as the Grand Macaw meant that to him, his realm is the highest of heights and considers hers to be the lowest one, thus getting Ash to stay in the Spirit Realm forever and ending her threat for good.
- She returns to Avalor to fight the Four Shades of Awesome and save her kingdom.
- She was horrified when Esteban was transformed into stone by Cahu and forgave him for his actions, which transformed him back to normal, and with his help, saved her entire Kingdom.
- Overall, she subverts all of her arrogance and recklessness by the series finale and doesn't appear to have any corrupting factors by the end of the series.

- Elena used to be NPG until she lost all of her corrupting factors, upgrading to Pure Good status.
