Bellibolt (Japanese: ハラバリー, Hepburn: Harabarii) (BELL-ee-bolt[1]) is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
Biology[]
Physiology[]
Bellibolt is a frog-like Pokémon with an oval-shaped body. Its skin is teal, though it has orange feet and various other orange markings around its body, such as on its head, waist, and back. It has a large brown belly with a small, yellow organ in the middle that resemble a belly button. Bellibolt also has two bumps at the sides of its head that resemble large eyes with yellow irises, though its actual face is in between these bumps. Its true face is primarily yellow, consisting of two small eyes, round cheeks, and a pink mouth with yellow lips.
Behavior[]
Bellibolt are easygoing Pokémon that do not usually battle Pokémon unless they are attacked first. Due to this, they are very difficult to train for Pokémon battles. When the sun sets, a strange noise emits from Bellibolt's habitat that originates from its stomach, signifying it is hungry.
Natural abilities[]
To generate electricity, Bellibolt stretches and contracts its elastic body. The electricity is then discharged through the eye-like bumps on the sides of its head, which also helps it intimidate any other Pokémon.
Evolution[]
Bellibolt evolves from Tadbulb when exposed to a Thunder Stone.

Trivia[]
Origin[]
Bellibolt overall resembles a frog. Its electrical abilities could be inspired by early studies of galvanism, which were done on frog legs and helped discover the link between electricity and the nervous system. Its design could also possibly be based on the Cuyaba dwarf frog, which have eye-like bumps on their back. Bellibolt's large stomach and organ give it the appearance of a loudspeaker or plasma globe. Its elasticity and overall shape may be inspired by Japanese mascot costumes or plush toys, while the markings on its back seem to resemble a radiation symbol, possibly alluding to nuclear energy generation.
The shape of Bellibolt resembles an Avocado.
Etymology[]
Bellibolt may come from belly and bolt.
