Marr-i-nul system's orbit was the location of a planetary system, including an unnamed gas giant planet with multiple moons.

In the Kelvin timeline, this system was near the 23rd century borders of the Federation. In the 2250s decade, circa the year 2258, the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise was on a shakedown cruise in this vicinity when the crew received a distress call from Perenorean colony ship Eparthaa, under attack from a Dre'kalak warship in the Marr-i-nul system. The Enterprise came to the defense of the Perenoreans, causing the Dre'kalak to retreat. (TOS novel: The Unsettling Stars)
