Joe Palmer reads of the invention of a time machine in the newspaper which gives him the idea to rob a bank and then escapes 50 years into the future. So after robbing the First National Bank he makes his way to a scientist's house named Alvin Whitehead, there he threatens him and forces him to send him to the future. While in the future Joe soon discovers that under World Government that is currently in charge his stolen money is useless and the technology use by modern police officers makes crime impossible. Without any other options he takes the only job he can get which is hard labor that only pays enough to allow him to survive in this time.

An ugly man named Harry Stubbs builds a time machine for the purpose of stealing jewels then going back in time to live with beautiful women who only care for his money. After stealing the jewels he returns to his machine and attempts to go back in time to the Roman Empire only for it to instead transport him into an alternate dimension where everything is ugly and strange.

A man comes to the realization that the reflections that gaze out at us from mirrors are actually murderous beings from a different dimension that wish to usurp our place. He breaks all mirrors and tries to warn people but they put him in an asylum. He gives the story to a reporter who knocks over a pitcher of water as he leaves the man's cell. The evil reflection reaches out of the puddle and strangles him.

Synopsis for "The Man Who Changed"

Reprint of the 1st story from
Uncanny Tales #11
A timid, unimpressive man stays behind to witness an H Bomb test on an island with the guinea pigs figuring that any change will be an improvement. The bomb flash blinds and burns him, but when he recovers in the hospital, he finds that he has grown taller, powerfully built and handsome. He resolves to leave the institution, although the personnel attempt to restrain him for fear of his contamination, and marry the girl he's wild about. She reacts in fear to his presence though, and all people shun him. He returns to the test island where the guinea pigs accept him.
